Lisa | 345 comments Whoo-hoo - I just completed the challenge!! It helped by not signing on to anymore challenges in the last few months LOL.

message 52: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments do you guys want to re-do this challenge next year and make it a re-occurring thing?

message 53: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments This was a tough challenge, hahaha! I don't think I'm gonna complete it.

We could redo this challenge next year.

message 54: by Terri (new)

Terri Vaught (terriann14) | 59 comments Thinking I would love to join a challenge like this7

message 55: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1239 comments Yeah, I need to look over my Challenge... i'm so close :)

message 56: by Annette (new)

Annette Whalen (annette_whalen) | 7 comments When does this challenge end? I just joined the group and I'm interested in this challenge.

message 57: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments Ends end of the year but you can backdate to include any books you have read this year that fit

message 58: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments I'm having trouble with X and Z. Lol.

message 59: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments LOL! Dee, when you say Q X and Z have to be somewhere in the title, the word still has to make sense with 'A Misters Cat'. For instance, I read Quintana of Charyn, but no matter how I spin it 'The Ministers Cat is a Quintana Cat' doesn't really work, lmfao.

(I'm struggling with J, Q, V, and Z.)

message 60: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments Q...you can read something with "Queen's" in the title.

I really don't see how I'm going to do X and Z. Gah! It's maddening.

message 61: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments Yeah, I thought I had one like that but I read it last year.

message 62: by Jen (at last!) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments Hmmm... what about "quick, quiet, or quaint?"

message 63: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments I'll definitely check that out. I tried just putting q in my search for my books and it didn't pull up anything.

message 64: by Jen (at last!) (last edited Nov 15, 2012 08:40AM) (new)

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) | 1052 comments I hear ya. I did that with "q" as well. You can always read a quick Harlequin... ;)

That's what I'm going to do if I can't find anything quickly.

message 65: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 1124 comments J, Q, X and Z in the title anywhere works ;) but bonus points if you can find a word that works ;)

message 66: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 345 comments If you like zombie books, that would be an easy title to get your 'z' :) X is a tough one! I was lucky to have just ordered a book with the word expedition in the title - it sorta worked, I think? I'm not too good with playing 'Minister's Cat' - what sounds okay with me may not pass as acceptable.

I might be interested in doing this again next year. I have a zombie book that I haven't read yet LOL!

Northern Light (norrthernlight) | 219 comments I'm almost finished. As said some letters have been very difficult, for Z I had a book with Zanzibar and for Q I had an old English word Quent (from Quentins) which means fifth!

message 68: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments LOL, I love Zombie books. But usually they don't actually say 'Zombie', but you're right. I could totally do My Life As a White Trash Zombie. I have that one, and didn't even think about it!

I'll take my Quintana and forego bonus points, hahaha. That means I just need J and V.

message 69: by Lisa (new)

OH, I saw that book and it looks really good! I'll have to see what you think of it when you finish.

How do you search for book titles containing needed letters on Goodreads? Or do you Google it?

message 70: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments No, I'm going into 'My Books' and on your right is a little gray 'search my books' section. You type your letter in there, and then I'm sorting mine by 'date read', putting everything without a date on the top.

For J, I'm gonna do Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey , and for V I'm gonna reread Willing Victim by Cara McKenna . (I loved Willing Victim, really great little erotica!)

That will complete me! Okay, now it's time to buckle down!

message 71: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 345 comments Thanks for the tip, Wendy!

message 72: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1239 comments That's a great way to find books. Thanks Wendy! I might just read White Trash for that reason. hehe!

message 73: by Carol (new)

Carol | 29 comments Don't forget "Sex" or "Sexy" for X :)
I read the non-fiction book "Sex with Kings" about the mistresses of European kings. It was fairly interesting. Although I am worried I am going to come up a couple books short this year. Too much grading to get done!!

Northern Light (norrthernlight) | 219 comments I've finished!!

Carol | 29 comments I am soooooooooooo impressed with all of you who completed this. Sadly I have had waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much grading this year, and I do not think I will make it through all 26 books :(. But it has been a great time trying to get there!! I will have to give it another shot next year.

message 79: by Gwennie, biblioholic (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 3151 comments Whoo hoo!!! I'm done! Willing Victim by Cara McKenna was my last book, and man I love that one!! This was a reread and it only got better.

Carol | 29 comments So, are we going to try this again for 2013?? I feel like I need another go at it. :) And it is a great way to force someone to read a variety of books I think.

message 81: by Annette (new)
