Hello! My Name Is...

Thank you and yes I will check these threads out.

I just want to say hello and how much I have missed the group! I'm back after almost two years away. I have been able to read exactly one book in those two years but I'm happy to repo..."
Welcome, nice to 'meet' you :-)

Welcome Regina. If you're looking for recommendations, you will definitely find them on this site.

Hi Regina, welcome to the group! I absolutely love Carol Lea Benjamin's Rachel Alexander & Dash series. I hope you'll find some more favorite authors here.

Welcome to the group, Gail and Dolores. We are cozy mystery fans happy to help your TBR grow. More time to read sounds great.

I'm L.J. I love cozies (or 'cosies' as it's spelt where I live). I love reading them, watching them - although I know this is books only - and talking about them with my friends. I particularly like seeing which clues I picked up on and which ones my friends noticed.
I only joined Goodreads a week or two ago, so not very used to talking about books online, but so far I love all the different features I've found here. I should have joined Goodreads years ago! Once I find the right threads there are a few things I'd love to ask about cozies to see what everyone's opinion is.
I'm also an author, but I can see that it's very important on Goodreads to respect each group's rules, so I'll read them carefully before talking about my own items in the right threads. Promise!
Welcome to Cozy Mystery Corner. Our Cozy Q&A thread has questions where members post their opinions. You can answer any questions already posted or post questions of your own there.

Welcome Jane.
M.C. Beaton's Edwardian series is not well known; she wrote it under a pen name, Marion Chesney. I discovered them at a used book store and really enjoyed the mysteries. There were only 3 or 4 books. I've enjoyed the Agatha Raisin mysteries too. There's a new series now based on the books but the MC does not look like she's described in the books. Have you seen the show? I think it's broadcast on BBC but may be available on-line.

Welcome Jane! I hope you'll find some new favorites here. Have you read the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear? The books take place in the late 1920's and early 30's. The Frances Brody series looks good and I've added it to my tbr.

Welcome Veronica. Check out the discussion thread for favorite cozy series under Cozy Q&A and tell us what you like about the tea shop series. But be warned - you will find other series to read too. ;D

Hi all! I am Kelsi and am very excited to have stumbled on this group! I am extremely new to the cozy genre (I have only read one book so far...this is a bit embarrassing haha) but am really excited to read more from the genre. I love reading challenges and find they motivate me to read a lot more so if I can do that and explore a new genre at the same time that is a great bonus!
About me: I live in Vancouver, Canada and am currently attending college to become a library technician. My usual genres are fantasy and dystopian but I am usually very open to anything new. Lately I have been getting a lot more into mystery and have started returning to chick-lit (which I used to read a lot but haven't read at all for a few years).
I am excited to get to know you all and play some fun challenges together! :)

Welcome to the group Kelsi.
You will find lots of cozy series to read here. The Cozy Q&A has a discussion of favorite cozy series. Some cozies combine mystery with paranormal (ghost, witches, psychics) or light romance.
You might enjoy Heather Webber's Lucy Valentine series starting with Truly, Madly. Check out the group bookshelf for other series.

Thank you for the recommendation Nell! I will definitely check that one out :)
I am going to be planning my books for next month soon and I think I will try to fit in a few cozy books, that one will be going on my list!

Welcome Kelsi! You have nothing to be embarrassed about - it's wonderful to find a new world of books to explore.

Have to agree (well, classic children's books might be even more so for me). That's why I read them, and why I make sure I also read other stuff.
Alice wrote: "Hi, I'm Alice. Also new to this genre and just finding my way around. Nice to meet everyone."
Welcome to our group Alice. There are lots of ways to find new cozy reads here. Feel free to explore topics on our group page and bookshelf but watch out - your TBR is about to grow. :D

Thank you, and it's already started! The tbr is beginning to swell.
Welcome Elaine and Alice! Several of our topics will give you lots of cozies to try. Ask if you have any questions, or are looking for particular theme, age group, setting...

Happy Reading!

Welcome to our group, Laurie. Some cozy mysteries also have a little romance.

Hi Laurie. You can combine both of your favorites easily. Hopefully you'll find some that are new to you.

Beautiful cooler weather!
I love reading all types of "genre", We get along so well in our group. Opps, sorry I forgot your name!

Thanks! I found a few already. I dont mind no romance as long as their are cats in the books. LOL

Thank you!

Mysteries are my favorite genre and I seem to prefer those written by women. I like a kinder, gentler approach to a graphic, hard-boiled, nihilistic one.
Some writers I've enjoyed are PD James, Ruth Rendell, Martha Grimes, Nevada Barr, Janet Evanovich, and old-school writers like Phyllis Whitney, Victoria Holt, Mary Stewart, and MM Kaye.
I look forward to becoming acquainted with some new writers.
Thank you for creating this group!

Welcome to CMC Christin. You've listed some familiar authors in your library list and a couple that I'm not familiar with. I'll have to check out Eva Gates and Maggie King.

It's good to see you back here, and that things are good! I bet you're like a kid in a candy store whenever you're near books now.
