Livia J. Washburn has another series that I really like, Delilah Dickinson Literary Tour. The first one is Frankly My Dear, I'm Dead.

Tracy Weber (tracywe) | 74 comments Hi all! Can't remember if I ever officially introduced myself or not. I am a writer of the Downward Dog Mysteries series (the first book, MURDER STRIKES A POSE will be published in January 2014), but long before that I was an avid cozy mystery fan. Susan Conant inspired me to write. I love everything related to dogs, and I own a yoga studio. If it's a dog-related cozy, I want to read it. And my list is growing! I just discovered Goodreads a couple of months ago, and I love it!

Martin Conisby (martinconisby) | 2 comments Hello, I'm Martin and I'm an enthusiastic reader of cozy mysteries. I also like some hardboiled "noir" type detective fiction but given the choice I'll usually reach for a great cozy series first. I'm always on the lookout for a good series set in New England, the Great Northwest, or Canada.

I live in Scottsdale Az. I hail from the U.K. I enjoy Murder mysteries and enjoy a good cozy mystery I look forward to discoevering more authors.

message 623: by Carol (new)

Carol (mansonville) Hi! I'm Carol from Ontario, Canada. I'm hoping that this group will introduce me to some quality cozy books. I'm a bit sick of serial killers right now - read so many recently, and need some light-hearted comedy with a bit of mystery. The cozies I've encountered in the last ten years have disappointed me because of the poor quality of the writing, so, as I said, I'm hoping to find some better mysteries with great characters and a comic edge to them!

message 624: by ☯Emily (new)

Hi,

I've tried the "Cat who" books and could never get too excited. Also tried Carol Higgins Clarke. She was too lite for my taste. I've also tried quite a few random authors and can't remember the titles or the author's names. They weren't that memorable and I didn't finish them. I just started some Stephanie Plum books and am really enjoying them, even though she's not exactly considered a "cozy" writer. Her stuff is funny, which I really like .Thanks for asking.

message 628: by Carol (new)

Carol (mansonville) Thanks for the advice. I'm going to read the two selections for November, then I'll try some Elizabeth Peters. I think I read something by her years ago, which I have some positive remembrances. Thanks for your help.

message 635: by Mary (new)

Mary (tojayturbo) | 13 comments Hi!
I'm yet another Mary, and I seemed to have forgot to introduce myself to the group when I first joined. I've been around for a couple of months, but only started posting recently.

Before I joined the group, I really had no idea what a cozy mystery was. Now that I know, I realize I've been reading them for many years - especially if Nancy Drew and Dana girls count!

I read a lot, and enjoy books of different genres, love to knit and crochet, dabble in art (learning the medium of pastels), and play a number of musical instruments.

I look forward to participating in this group as time permits!

Susan Bernhardt | 28 comments Hello! My name is Susan Bernhardt. I'm from Wisconsin. A friend told me about your cozy group. I belong to two others on Goodreads where I comment often. I've loved cozy mysteries for so many years and have loved mysteries all my life since I was a child starting with Nancy Drew.

I enjoy so many cozy authors but my favorite is M.C. Beaton, both her Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth series. She has been a major influence in my writing.

I'm very happy to have found this group. Thank you.

Susan Bernhardt

Beth | 206 comments Welcome to the group, Susan, Mary, Mary, Alison, Carol, and anyone else I missed!

Alison, I, too, enjoy Maggie Sefton's knitting series. She's a good friend and gave me a nice blurb for my first book many years ago. You should hear her talk about fancy yarns!!

Valerie | 34 comments Hello, my name is Valerie and I love to read. I love cozys with a southern theme, animal, paranormal and with the older sleuths in them and tough chick ones. Like G A McKevett and Sophie Littlefield. And who can forget Stephanie Plum. Hope to learn of some new ones here. Thanks

message 640: by Marj (new)

Marj | 3 comments Hi! I've been a member for a couple of weeks, and just realized I never introduced myself. My name is Marj (short for Marjorie) and I live in Michigan.
I love reading! I really enjoy cozies, although I'm not limited to those.
My favorite authors include Agatha Christie, Ian Fleming, Rex Stout, Charlotte MacLeod, Stuart Kaminsky and the list goes on...
Looking around on this group, I've found several more authors I hadn't been familiar with, they're now on my TBR list. I recently actually made a list of all the books on my Kindle and on my bookshelves that I haven't read yet, and there are over 300. That's when I stopped counting.
Looking forward to learning about even more cozy authors! Thanks!

message 641: by Helen (new)

Helen Smith (emperorsclothes) | 12 comments Hi Marj!

I'm the same... something like 324 unread books on my Kindle! I don't know when I'll ever get the time to read them all, but I keep buying them.

message 642: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 34 comments I'm the same way also. I have well over 1000 books on my kindle and probably 60-70 paperback/hardbacks to read. I read at least 2-3 books a week. I want run out if I ever get to retire. My problem is that I can't quit buying them, I may miss out on something good.

message 643: by Marj (new)

Marj | 3 comments Hi Valerie and Helen!
I just can't resist a sale, especially on authors I really like. And I download any of the free ones that sound like they might be good, thereby finding more authors that I like. Like Valerie said, I don't want miss out on something good!

message 644: by Helen (new)

Helen Smith (emperorsclothes) | 12 comments Valerie and Marj, I check the Kindle Daily Deal every day! It's a bad habit. If something interesting's on offer, I can't resist buying it. But I have tried some books I never would have tried otherwise and found some new authors I like. And, of course, the ones I haven't read yet will keep. But I feel as though I need to go to a desert island for a year and just read all day every day to catch up.
