Kirsty | 1 comments I'm reading 'the chronicles of narnia' I've never picked it up before but I found the complete collection for £1 in a charity shop! (Bargain) it's great, I'm hoping to train as a primary school teacher in the future and would love to read it to a class. The language in it is early 20th century and I think kids could learn a lot from a book like this.

message 236: by Ken (new)

Ken W I'm now up to Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince and still loving the HP series though this one is a bit of a let down. Over halfway through and not a whole lot of action. It has had a lot of interesting background info but not a lot of action. Hopefully the last third of the book makes up for that.

Buck (spectru) Mayra wrote: "im reading The Book Thief, i had seen good things about it and it sounded interesting, but it started kind of weird."

The Book Thief is a bit different - Death is its narrator. It is a very good book, good enough to be on a list of books everyone should read. Markus Zusak also wrote I am the Messenger, completely different from The Book Thief and also very good.

message 242: by Buck (new)

Is this your first time reading Deathly Hallows?
If so, I'm envious. I'd love to read the series for the first time, again.

message 250: by Ken (new)

Ken W Yes. I read the first 4 several years ago and stopped. I do not even remember why I stopped. Just got caught up reading other stuff I guess. A couple months ago I bought the whole series in ebook format and started over with book 1 and have been reading them straight through. As of this minutes 39% through Deathly Hallows.
