Nadja | 12 comments feeling a bit better now LOL.
I'm 27 but the way I see it, even in the film, intellectually Edward still has 81 years on me LOL
Rob's great but Edward looks different and slightly older in my head !!
My husband too thinks i'm crazy LOL

message 53: by Jacquel (new)

Jacquel (clairevioletthorpe) | 103 comments I don't get any funny looks from anyone...most of the adults I know have either read Twilight themselves of know about them.

message 54: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (wildcherry) i'm 27 and i think that it is the story that makes it good not the age of the characters. i love the saga! i actually borrowed the books from someone to read and now i want to go buy the series for myself!

On a different note i was watching Cheaper by the dozen 2 yesterday with my son and saw "jacob" in it as a kid! boy was that weird!!

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I hadn't realized I had watched all of Taylor's movies until he starred in Twilight. He mostly loaned his voice to Scooby Doo. He's only been in two movies besides Twilight.

-Cheaper by the Dozen 2

-The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl

I had no idea it was him in either of those.

He was also in a movie called Shadow Fury...

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Never heard of that, they must have not put it on the Netflix profile I was viewing.

It happens.

message 64: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) if anything, the TWILIGHT series should/is marketed to teens and 20s. unlike other series that i like (namely HARRY POTTER) which even though all ages seem to like is technically marketed to younger people. when i read the series for the first time (last year) i felt like i was reading "on my level".

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate age segregation, I think people over and under the teen spectrum should be able to read anything they want. The youngins will not understand some of the more suggestive stuff, and if they can read through Bella's vocabulary, they deserve a place in the Twilight Fandom. And the sexual tension of the books (Twilight especially) make it a read for women in their thirties. It's an all age saga. Whether you like it or not.

message 66: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) my grandma's reading it. she's very anti-jacob :0 and she doesnt understand why bella couldnt be with emmett because emmett "is a man's man"

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Lolz.

message 68: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (writingrulz89) | 3 comments I'm 20, and at first I felt a bit old to read Twilight, but my mom is 50ish and reading them, so I guess its alright lol.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol, you should be fine. I mean, if Amelia's grandma is reading it, you can't be too old for it.

message 70: by Mellady77 (new)

Mellady77 Stibich | 1149 comments HA! Here's a good one for you, I'm a Twimom, and my Grandmother is reading the series! She loves it and is excited to go see New Moon with me.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe, I'll have to see if I can get my mother to read it. But she's very active, so I doubt she'll sit still long enough to read it.

message 72: by Jacquel (new)

Jacquel (clairevioletthorpe) | 103 comments My mom didn't read the book, but since she's a teacher, she heard all about Twilight from her students.

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

I think reading it together would be a nice bonding activity.

message 74: by Mellady77 (new)

Mellady77 Stibich | 1149 comments I have several friends who read it with their daughters. They liked reading it.

message 75: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Kay (littlebee81) i am 27 and my mom and grandmother LOVED the movie! the only ones in my family reading the books are my middle sister ( she's 33)...my middle niece (she's 16) and myself. but i do get odd looks from people when i tell them i like twilight. as my nephew put it..."twilight is for hormone riddled teenage girls"...lol.

Patty hahaha Im 19 and who the heck cares how old you are, every girl who reads the books reads them like they are bella and you relate to what she is going through. I bet ill still think these books are great whem im idk 52 who knows!

message 81: by Roksana (new)

Roksana | 118 comments I am 31 and LOVE the series!! No I dnt feel too old for them...why would I? My mum is 50 and she is nuts about the series too. Both of us took a day off work on the 19th Nov to go and see the movie twice that day...LOL

I also like younger man but only in the book....well technically Eddy is older than my Granddad...so its all good! LOL

message 82: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments Hey, I admit that I was anti Twilight before I started reading the books, and now that I've read them and actually LOVE them, I do notice that there is a little bit of a stigma associated with being twenty something and reading Twilight.

I think its mostly because Twilight is a story you really have to READ to appreciate. Explaining it doesnt do it justice which is what many of us Twilighters try to do. Its hard explaining the story of a girl who falls in love with a werewolf and a vampire, the girl marries the vamp, and then the werewolf falls in love with her baby. That by itself screams "Weird story that only teeny boppers would love."

But its definetly not a book for only younger ones. Stephenie writes a love story where her characters are teens, but the story is for everyone. Of course they may act irrational sometimes, but they're teens! I love it!

message 83: by Francie (new)

Francie (love_francie) I'm 24..and have been reading Twilight since I was 22, lol!! I bought the first book when my husband deployed and read it about 50 billion times until I could buy New Moon & Eclipse. I dragged him to the Breaking Dawn release party. I got my friends & family into reading the books too. All of them are Twihards now, thanks to me =)

In 2009 I went to my first Twilight convention (Twi Tour). It was an amazing experience!! I'm going to another one in April with the friends I met while there.

To me, Twilight is more than a story. It introduced me to some totally awesome girls around the globe!!! I read the Saga whenever I'm feeling down. It's a great story to get lost in. And now that the movies are coming out..it's another chance to get lost in the story.

I don't care if people make fun of me because I'm a Twihard. I'm proud of it!!!

message 84: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments Exactly Francie! Proud Twihard here as well! Its great to hear that you were able to go to a Twilight Convention! Its funny how you'll never realize how little things like a book can make such a huge impact on your life!

I havent been to any conventions yet, I plnned on going to the release party for new Moon but I cant make it now :(

message 85: by Francie (new)

Francie (love_francie) Twilight made a huge impact on my life. I wish I could write Stephanie a thank you letter, but I bet she gets thousands of those. LoL!!

If you ever get the chance, you should totally go to the Twi Tour!! Get the gold package because it's totally worth it!!!!

message 86: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments If I do I will definetly let you know!

message 87: by Zojar (new)

Zojar | 259 comments I'm 35 and love the books, now I've read them. Watched the first film, liked it, but wished it was longer and had more from the book in it. Can't wait to watch second film, waiting on it in the post right now. Looking forward to Third film in July, yay, near my birthday!!

Funnily enough, I prefer 'light' reading and have now discovered a love for 'young adult/teen' genre books!! When you have a husband and three kids you don't always want 'heavy' reading, something light to help you 'escape' normal everyday life is what I need and Twilight did that for me. Love the characters and have found numerous 'older' people - well, near my age, not teenagers, who LOVE the books too!!!

I have to admit, Edward 'doesn't do it for me' neither does Jacob, too much, but CARLISLE is a whole new ballgame. He's LOVELY!!! Mind you, I don't REALLY think I'd turn any of them down, lmao!!

message 88: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments lol.... get it Carlisle! I forget...how old is he in the books (in human years not his vampire age)

message 89: by Zojar (new)

Zojar | 259 comments Mid twenties isn't he? Not sure will have to check, either way, he comes across as being LOVELY, I'd make myself ill just to see him, lol!!

message 90: by Zojar (new)

Zojar | 259 comments Found something online that says about 23 years old - OK, I could handle a toyboy, LMAO!!

message 91: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments LOL!!!!I'll and on the point of death so he'd be willing to change you!

message 92: by Zojar (new)

Zojar | 259 comments Don't know if Esme would be too happy with someone else vying for his attentions, lmao, ooh, that could be an interesting Vampiress battle!

message 93: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystal_f) | 1609 comments You would definetly win because of your newborn strength IF the battle was in a dark alley with just the two of you, but if the other Cullens are there...sorry girl! Your a goner!

message 94: by Vivi (new)

Vivi | 2543 comments I'm 80 and I like the books. :D

Yup, sorry Zojar the Cullens would take you down.

message 95: by Krystal (new)
