I would love to buddy read Tempting the Beast with you. I will also try and fit in Decadent. Two books that have been on my tbr for quite awhile and it will feel good to finally read them and put them in the 'read' pile.

I would love to buddy read Tempting the Beast with you..."
Downloaded Tempting the Beast so we can start anytime

I had fun going through your bookshelves! Our tastes are different enough to make it a challenge, but with enough similarity to give me some ideas to work with.
Welcome the New Year

Oh my I am having a hard time choosing which one to start will. I love my pics. I think it will be Faefever or Lover Awakened. But there are at least four others I want to read as well.

I join my wishes to yours and wish everyone a very Happy 2012 saturated with love and peace and a lot of new books :D

Lacy, I'm reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo this month for another challenge so I will definitely read it with you! I'm best for reading as early in the month as possible (college classes starting back up). Just let me know if and when you want to start! I have it on hand already!

I did! I've been annoying my boyfriend about needing to go see it! I love the series so I'm hoping the movie does it justice ;)

Wow, we have such a high compatibility rate, it was pretty hard for me to find a book I like that you haven't read yet.
Still, I think I came up with a few.
First Day: The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum. The book is way better than the movie.
Second Day: Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole. Every installment of the IAD is always a fun read.
Third Day: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Ruthfuss. Haven't read this one, but heard positive reviews.
Goodbye Rabbit: The Kite Runner by Khaled Houssini. Not only a different country, but immerse yourself in a totally different culture.
Welcome Dragon: Club Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair. A recent discovery for me, and I'm crazy about her writing.
Poor Cat: The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter. Time to pick up and continue this series.
Pass the Luck: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. A PIFM recommended book that became a favorite read.
Spread the Love; In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks. Planning to read it for the Featured Author Challenge.
Lantern Festival: The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton. Would love to read this with you if I can get a copy.
Well, Penney dear, I hope I have given you some interesting choices to start your new year with a reading bang. Happy New Year!

1. First Day:
Both of these are super hot. You have so many books on your list, from so many different genres, I was having a hard time finding something to fit this category. Hopefully these apply. lol
Long Hard Ride
Wicked Ties
2. Second Day:
Lover Unleashed - You've read all the books up to this point, why not continue
Guilty Pleasures - You have lots of Laurell K. Hamilton books on your list, so I'm assuming you enjoy her writing. :)
3. Third Day:
The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my all time favorite books and I saw you had it on your to read list, so I couldn't help myself. It is a lengthy book, but in my opinion so worth it. I've read it may times since I first discovered it.

During the New Year
4. Goodbye, Rabbit!:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- What's more out different culture than out of space? lol
Inside Apartheid: One Woman's Struggle in South Africa - You apparently like South Africa (thank you so much for creating a seperate folder for all of these by the way)and this has been on your TBR for a while
5. Welcome, Dragon!:
Arctic Winds
Slow Burn
6. Poor Cat:
Interview With the Vampire - Anne Rice is one of my favorite authors of all times. I noticed this has been on your To Read list for a couple of years now.
7. Pass the Luck Around:
A Discovery of Witches - Ok, so Nancy can tell you that for the first 270 pages I was ready to toss this out the window (only reason I didn't was becuse I'm hardheaded and persistant and well, it was on my NOOK, that's too pricey for me to toss out the window. lol). However, and this turned out to be a great book and I would highly recommend it. Fair warning, it's a really long book and it's the first in a yet to be finished series, the next book isn't set to release until next July. This book also applies to #3 (Third Day)

Celebrate The New Year (Buddy Reads)
8. Spread The Love:
Moon Called - Ok, so this has been recommended to me twice already and somehow manages to fall through the cracks time and time again. I'm seriously determined to read it this time. lol
9. Lantern Festival:
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I've been dying to read this!

Thanks so much for the picks. I have picked 2 to read this month. I am going to try to also read one of the buddy reads if I can get a copy of it.
1st to Die by James Patterson
The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton
Burning Alive by Shannon K Butcher (if I can locate a copy)

Welcome the New Year
1. First Day: Anything by Sarah Addison Allen
2. Second Day: Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane
3. Third Day: The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
During the New Year

Welcome the New Year..."
Hello Cathy! Thanks for the picks! Sorry i took so long to reply. I didn't realise you already picked so early! Lol. But the books definitely look very interesting, i'll be reading them, for sure. Let's buddy read! Just let me know when you'd like to start(: Thanks again.

I had a ton of fun looking at your bookshelf. Here are my recommendations. I hope you find something you like, if not let me know and I will give it another shot.
Welcome the New Year
1. First Day:
Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon - This book is set in outer space and I am not a huge fan of sci-fi. But I really liked this book and this turned out to be a really great series.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers - Again I am not a huge fan of inspirational fiction but people kept saying read this book. They were right read this book.
Second Day:
Rapture in Death by J D Robb - Noticed you have read the first three in the series. Keep reading or if you like audiobooks Susan Ericksen does a really good job narrating.
At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost - Again awesome series so keep on reading. Besides who doesn't love Cat and Bones.
Third Day
Tatiana and Alexander by Paullina Simmons - Book is 672 pages and you gave the first book a 5 star rating.
Envy by J R Ward - Book is 560 pages and my favorite so far in The Fallen Angels series.
During the Year
4.Goodbye Rabbit
Jewels of the Sun by Nora Roberts - Set in Ireland, was my first trilogy by Nora Roberts and still a favorite. Also very good on audio.
A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught - Set in England and is one of my favorite historical romance novels.
5.Welcome Dragon
Extreme Exposure by Pamela Claare - Hot cover, hot man and a good story. What more can you ask for.
Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning - If you have ever had a crush on a musician or celebrity you will love this book. This begins a series about a Rock Band named the Sinners. What more is there to say.
Poor Cat
Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian - On your TBR since 2010. This is one of my auto-buy series and authors.
Pleasure Unbound by Larisssa Ione - On your TBR since 2010. Again one of my all time fav series. I also love the fact the books are set around a demon run hospital with sexy demon doctors. (I am a nurse where do I apply for a job!)
7.Pass the Luck
Comanche Moon by Catherine Anderson - Was recommended to me repeatedly but I could not find it anywhere, was finally re-reeased in 2008. My favorite book by this author.
Soulless by Gail Carriger - I read this for the September 2011 PIFM Challenge. I was sceptical about reading it but really enjoyed the book.
Celebrate the New Year
8.Spread the Love
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison - I have been wanting to read this but can't get it at my library. With a little nudge I could be convinced to buy it.
The Next Always by Nora Roberts - I am always happy to start a new Nora Roberts series.
9.Lantern Festival
Dawn on a Distant Shore by Sara Donati - I really want to read the rest of this series this year.
Blood Bound y Patricia Briggs - Again one of my goals is to complete this series in 2012.

However, I plan to read/listen to: How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire; Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Offside Pass becuase they work for another challenge that i'm doing.
Do you want to BR Daughter of Smoke and Bone?

Welcome The New Year
First Day: The Host
Second Day: The Darkest Lie
During The New Year
Goodbye, Rabbit: A Great and Terrible Beauty
Welcome, Dragon: Daughter of Lust
Poor Cat: Blood Red
Pass The Luck Around: Divergent
Celebrate The New Year
Spread The Love: Matched
Lantern Festival: The Soulkeepers

Thanks so much for the picks. I have picked 2 to read this month. I am going to try to also read one of the buddy reads if I can get a copy of it.
1st to Die by James Patter..."
Cathy - Glad I found some books you would be interested in. I have a copy of Burning Alive so if you find a copy and want to buddy read just let me know. I'll hold off til later in the month to start.
Marissa,
I'm glad you like my picks. I'm still searching for Poughkeepsie over the libraries here but I don't think that will bring much success. I'll hit the bookstores this week just in case but I saw now that the book was released only a few months back so the chances to find it somewhere are sadly very low. This are the drawbacks of living in a small country. "/ Everything comes here with a great delay.

I just put in a library request for City of Bones. I'll let you know when I pick it up so we can do the buddy read.

Happy New Year, Cathy! Wow, these are some GREAT picks! I think this may be the most difficult PIFM decision I have ever faced!
So, I definitely want to read Tatiana and Alexander since the first book was amazing. Rapture in Death and Jewels of the Sun will work great for a task in the Seasonal Reading Challenge, so those are a Yes.
By very pure coincidence, I just got a notification that Dragon Bound was available for download from the library, so now I have it ready and waiting on my Nook. You need not feel obligated to buddy read it with me, but I will likely read within the next 3 weeks before it's snatched away!
Thanks for the picks, Cathy!

Thanks for the awesome recs! My goal last year was to complete every Monthly Challenge, Read-The-Month Challenge and Read-The-Season Challenge. I did it! But now I'm a little burnt out, which means.... I get to sit back and choose some books from your list at my leisure. And you gave me quite a choice, thank you very much :)
I never even thought to read The Bourne Identity, even though I LOVED the movie. Now you have me intrigued... I'll probably start with In Bed with a Highlander or Dreams of a Dark Warrior or The Reluctant Dom or Club Shadowlands. You're also the second or third person to recommend The Kite Runner and The Book Thief in the same PIFM post. Seems like I should get on those as well.
The beauty of it is I can pick and choose on a whim. Yay!

I finished A Taste of Midnight on the 28th, sorry it was a good little book just wish it had been longer!
I will read Something About You for sure, if I have time I'll grab another.
E

I remember how that is! How about we read it this week starting Monday or Tuesday? Would that work for you?

Reading Kiss of Midnight sounds great! How does the second week of Jauary look for you?

I'm in the process of moving, so how about after the 4th?"
That works for me!

That sounds fine by me. I'll start up the thread.

Thanks for the great pics, Alyssa! Since I just got The Virtuoso from the library, it's "meant to be" my pick for the month. I might try Big Stone Gap if I have time, too. We'll see. I'll add a few to my to-read list, too; thanks for your thoughts.
Sorry about Borders; sad to see so many book stores close (luckily I have a good library nearby). Happy New Year!

I'll read another of your picks next (I think) with Slow Ride. Maybe when I walk upstairs to pick it up another book will just jump into my hands and demand I read it next. But I think I'm almost committed at this point. I want something light, fun, and sexy after the last downer-fest.
