Nightshade By Andrea Creamer
Wolfsbane by Andrea Creamer and a lot more

any of the L.J. Smith books
stephanie meyer wrote twilight after having a dream about Vampire Diaries.

I agree with Aa'ishah, you should definetly read Angel and Angel Fire. You could also try Vampire Academy, The Wolves Of Mercy Falls, The Fallen books, The Vampire Diaries, and The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices.

hey. the series i recommend are mostly for "adult" readers but also for those who like the magic world or fantasy creatures.

i recommend fervently a Kresley Cole series: Immortals After Dark. It's about the creatures of the Lore: Vampires, werewolves, valkyrie, demon, sorcerers, witches, Ghosts and Phantom. it's really great. sexy and very funny! but beware, it's WAY sexier than Twilight. So young readers... wait a few years before setting of to read it. (i would say. 18)

Sherrilyn Kenyon series: Dark Hunter series.(adult book. it's sexy) it's about Dark hunters,(humans that were killed and whose soul cried vengeance against their killers)created (or "reborn") by the greek Goddess Artemis to protect the humans from the Daimons (that prey on humans) it begins with "Fantasy Lover" which is an introduction to the world. but the 1st DH Book is "Night Pleasures"

There's also: Mackayla series by Karen Marie Moning. it's about a young american woman (21) who goes to ireland to find the murderer of her older sister. But soon after her arrival, she discovers she can see creatures from another world. i won't tell you more, but it's AWESOME! and funny

Then of course,(for everyone)for a world full of magic. the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (ERAGON; ELDEST; BRISINGR and INHERITANCE)

Enjoy!

If you liked The Twilight Saga then I suggest you read The Vampire Academy Series by Richele Mead.
It's actually pretty orginal compared to a lot of other vampire books and has a very unique story line.
I also recomend the Hex Hall Series by Rachel Hawkins. This is also a fantasy series and it's very funny, made me laugh a lot.

If you like vampire novels, you could try the original--Dracula.

If you want to read from a new genre then try out The Princess Diaries or maybe some Jane Austen. I recommend Sense and Sensibility or Emma.

you might like books by janet gurtler(if i tell and im not her) or the delirium series i havent read that but it sounds pretty awesome

The mediator by Meg Cabot
Stolen by Lucy Christopher
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan

I would check out Clarissa Clare's Mortal Instruments series, definitely. I raced through those books so fast. Also the Vampire Empire series by Clay and Susan Griffith. I've only read the first of these so far, but it sucked me right in and I can't wait to find out what happens to Adele(human) and Garreth(vampire). It is also a little bit steampunk-ish.

Definitely Angel Fire and you also might like the Shadow Falls series. The Wolves of Mercy Falls is an interesting take on werewolves and i loved it.

The Study series by Maria V. Snyder
Perfect Chemisty by Simone Elkeles (All of her books are good)
The Weather Warden series is also by Rachel Caine, definitely more adult than the Morganville Vampires.
Anything written by Patricia Briggs

You probably would like the Significance Series by Shelly Crane.

I Am Four, The Power Of Six. Not vampire books though but there great books to read.

Try Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry. Just finished this and loved it. The 2nd book is called Dust & Decay.
Also have you tried Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments Series? If not I would definitely recommend it as well.
I also love the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series..great reads.

It's not paranormal but a fun and easy read is Abby, by Lisa A. McCombs. Yep, that's me.Check it out. Then...look at Sorta Like a Rock Star by Matthew Quick. Good stuff.

Maybe you could read some Neil Gaiman books. Some examples are Coraline, The Graveyard Book, and Interworld.

You might like the Sookie stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris or The Fever Series by Karen Moning it looks like you enjoy paranormal romance, these are a bit racier, but they were books that were page turners and laugh out loud funny:)

If you're looking for something Twilightesque, I recommend Obsidian (A Lux Novel) by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I halfway through and have been pleasantly surprised. I love Twilight so I was actually put off by it being said to be "alot like Twilight", I mean who loves a copycat, right? But no, this is very different while being alot alike (if that makes sense) and is quite good! I read the first book in The Vampire Academy series, and contrary to many reviews, I found it to be horrible. I mean, really really bad.

Lastly, I know this isn't really in the same genre, but the Pretty Little Liars series is awesome. It is so fast paced and absolutely draws you in and wraps you up in their crazy world. Even though there are no supernatural characters (or are there? Muwahaha)it is still super creepy and very suspenseful! A great read.
