Don't listen to her! I had only read Fahrenheit 451 in high school before this year and R Is for Rocket was just awesome. One of the best five titles I've read this year so far.

Fisticuffs? Kate Daniels, I say!
*adjusts monocle*
step, step, step...I give you Whale Music by Paul Quarrington. What could be funnier than a drug-addicted naked man composing music for whales, unless it is the Canadian taxpayer funding the writing of such a story? I did enjoy the book.

*nods* good one...
step, step, step...I give you The Diamond Club.
Crowd sourced ebook? Check.
No continuity? Check.
Poor grammar and spelling? Check.
Hoax on "lonely housewives?" Check.
Made it to the Top 10 ebooks on iBooks? Check.
Epically long review that is much funnier and well written than the actual book? Check.

Lol. I should have saw that one coming. Actually there was a review of 50 Shades that was even funnier, but I can't recall the link.I give. We should probably let Nyssa get back to updates on the challenge...

BTW, you owe me a review for that one! I'm awful curious now...
Yeah, MrsJ won that round hands down! My first reaction is to feel sorry for anyone who bought The Diamond Club, but on second thought, I did some "research" before deciding not to buy into, or buy 50 Shades of Grey, so....
It has its moments, but I only gave it 3 stars. A little disjointed, but entertaining at times. Very quirky in that Canadian book made into a film kind of way. Actually it was made into a film which I haven't seen. You can read about Mr. Quarrington on wikipedia which gives a reasonable description and outlines why one should read a couple of his books to understand Canada. King Leary is on my list of potential reads.

Well, I feel sorry for the original people who bought it - there are over 2k fraudulent reviews...and iBooks gives crappy samples.
Some friends and I have been writing reviews and discussing the issue with the creators.
Now...if they buy it they wanted to buy it.

2,000 ? Wow! Okay, then yes, I'm sorry they got scammed, as well.
Yeah, and these douchebags keep trying to claim it's "art!" and that they false reviews are part of "art!" that is necessary for the "art!' to grow.

yaaaaay!
Welcome! I know how hard it is when you're getting back into it. I've been on a romance glut and now I'm having a problem with my fantasy.
I was going through a bout of depression that hasn't quite passed yet, so Its slow going at the moment, but I'm hopeful my reading will pick up again. We're going to be out of the house tomorrow, but I may be able to get some quality reading time in on Sunday ... **fingers crossed**

*hug*
I hope you feel better soon! And I hope that you find a book that is perfect for you right now.
Depression is a strange thing. It's sometimes harder to fight against something that is coming from within than from without - although it seems like it should be easier.Keep fighting.

I hope you are feeling much better now, Nyssa. Getting out of the house into the sunshine helps!!! At least, that's what my cats tell me!

Thank you Spacechick! :) I am beginning to feel better..there are just a few external stresses in the mix.
I was able to finish Dark Lover and start Lover Eternal yesterday.I'm subbing half day today, but should be able to get some reading time in tonight. I'm looking forward to it. :)
LOL! No, just happy. :) Plus, taking every reading opportunity afforded throughout the day including a few late nights.
I've just finished Lover Awakened. It was better than I remembered. I plan on starting Lover Revealed tonight.Part of me feels like I'm going through these too quickly, but the other part doesn't want to lose momentum!
EDIT: This was book #40 for the year.
I think the only rule is enjoy what you read whatever the pace, oh, and then there's the mocking what was unejoyable to read.

ANd being pissed off for spending $0.99 for a 36 page "book."
Or even worse...on 5 of them. O_o

Ouch! Were they at least enjoyable?
Nyssa wrote: "Ouch! Were they at least enjoyable? ."Yes. but still. $1 for what amounts to a single sex scene.
BUt they're hot sex scenes. "Book" 1 is free at Amazon and Smashwords. It'll take you all of 3 seconds to gobble it down if you're interested:

Thankfully no. I'd be very grumpy if so, lol.
I'm going to finish them (but I left my ereader at work

I'm going to finish them (but I left my ereader at work O_o) but I'm hating these short stories.
Just finished Lover Unbound. It was like I'd never read it before...I can't believe how much of this book I either forgot, or didn't recognize to begin with. I must have sped through it the last time around.
