I have just finished my third book for February, Fields of Gold by Fiona McIntosh which I enjoyed very much. Due to this challenge I have now read 6 books by authors I had never read before and have enjoyed most of them and will read other books by some of these authors.

Isn't this challenge for Australia authors only or is it any. The Christmas Pearl is written by an American author. If the authors can be other Nationalities that opens it up a to a lot more authors.

My apologies, I had indicated at the beginning that I was setting my own personal challenge of matching Aussie books with a non-Aussie book, in order to conquer my huge tbr pile (which is currently at 233). I will stick to just writing in the Aussie ones, but will continue with my own personal challenge.
Aside: I have found it interesting though that quite a few of the books I have read, written by a non-Aussie author recently, have had an Australian character for one of the main characters.

That is interesting, maybe we're becoming popular! PS I think it's a great idea to match one of your ownTBR books for each book you read in a challenge.

Well done, I have not even started my March books yet and am rapidly running out of time. I hope you enjoy Addition as much as I did.
I've been very slack and haven't updated my status on this challenge lately as my laptop had had major bad-hair days and is still in the repair shop.I think I'm pretty much on track having completed my Jan thru to March books and am now reading The Ambassador's Mission by Trudi Canavan.

I haven't read anything by Trudi Canavan - does she write well?

I must admit that I did struggle a little with the pace of the book, and also keeping track of the characters somewhat, but then I've had a few books on the go at once and maybe hadn't given it my undivided attention. Halfway in and all-good. I would try another of her books before making any hasty decisions.
I am also comparing this to Finnikin of the Rock which I couldn't put down.
My second March read The Mistake by Wendy James was amazing! My review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Finished my 2 March books.
by Melina Marchetta &
by Matthew Reilly. Now I just have to think of 2 books for April.

I finished my March books, just in time.I read for my Aussie one I read:
Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden, and I gave it 5 stars
and as part of my own challenge, my non-aussie book (dont laugh) is:
The Little Red Caboose by Marian Potter which I read with my 11 year old autistic son and we both gave it 5 stars.
If I had to rank them, then 'Tomorrow ...' would be first, but as a reading experience, you cant go past a cute little red train wtih an avid audience.

Dee-Ann, I recently finished the first 3 books of the Tomorrow series. If you gave the first book 5 stars, I would highly recommend reading the next 2. They are absolutely riveting and will keep you on the edge of your seat….better than the first book

Thanks for your advice Mish ... I think I might wait for the adrenalin to settle from this one. My eldest son has the next two books in the series, so maybe I will tackle them for the May 'twist' challenge.

Oh I don’t blame you. They really do get your adrenalin pumping. I had to take a pause from the series as well
My books for April are:
by Randa Abdel-Fattahand
by Alyssa Brugman.I have never read anything by either author so am broadening my horizons and hoping they are good.

Dee-Ann I love this series, have read it a couple of times. Whilst I enjoyed each book, there was one somewhere in the middle that I didn't enjoy as much, can't remember which one, but the entire series is great reading.

I just managed to finish my March books. The Distant Hours by Kate Morton, I gave this one 4 stars and The Book Thief by Markus Zukas which I gave 5 stars to. I have had this a long time in my TBR list but I was reluctant to read it as I was told that the story is narrated by death when this challenge came along I decided to give it a go and I really quite enjoyed the audio version.Good work with the books in the challenge to everyone.
