Alton, once a book has been published, we don't delete them. Think of GR as a library, not a shop.
But the book that you want to delete has been actually published? If so, there is no point in deleting it, because it actually exists.

Alton but the fact is that the book exists and some of goodreaders eventually might have it or read it.When you go to your local library you cant simply demand to remove a book.
If I'm not mistaken what can possibly be made is to make a reference in your new book that you also use the name or eventually add the old book to your "new" author profile

Re 339 - it is an alternate cover edition of the correct book so it stays. Some one appears to have over written the original cover imageEdit: I have restored the original cover

Re 350 - that edition has correct appropriate ISBN's Why do you think it needs deleting?
Because the edition does not match the PB copy I have and I have found another link that does under, and I can't fill in the right ISBN13 as it is linked to the other edition http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/76...

Because, either the Pictures is wrong or the titles, I am trying to update "Single White Vampire" & 352 has the ISBN13 for it
It does not need deleting just updating which I have done

Hello! I'm new to the librarian role on here and I found this thread. I'm confused about what a placeholder is any why they are to be deleted. I found this: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...Is this what you mean by a placeholder? A book that hasn't been published yet? It has an ISBN so I wasn't sure if this counted.
Re 359 - A place holder is an edition that is added by a user with miminal information - generally without an ISBN. If there is an ISBN we keep it (although not all books with ISBN's get published)People will enter a book with information like
Title: Untitled (Harry Potter, #110) - thats a place holder for the next book ( made up example)
When more information is known some one (when they come across it) can either update the place holder or delete the place holder merging in to a more upto date entry
Edit: The one you link to is fine to leave since it has appropriate ISBN's

Vicki-girl or Rivka - Can you please delete this book? It was a POD book released 12 years ago which had no sales except to me, and it has since been completely overhauled and published under a different name. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12...
It was published by BuyBooksontheWeb.com, who agreed in 2000 to remove it from their database completely, and no royalties have since been received from it. It appears that Infinity Publishing is showing it on their "my books" list on Goodreads, but they have no legal right to do so. The only books disbursed were to me for reviews, and I destroyed all of those except 4, which were given to friends at the time.
