Hello Jim. I am just starting to feel comfortable in looking around here at Goodreads, still learning what is all here to take advantage of.
I enjoy discussing books as I read. I hope to read a book or two featured here for some discussions. Thank you!
Hello and welcome to all the new people.
Yes, it is actually me. This is the first I've been on GoodReads in I can't even tell you how long. I've had some others hijack my account from time to time to do some postings but it hasn't been me.
I'll write more about that elsewhere but I just wanted to wave hi to all the new folks.

I loved Avempartha. And I loved Nyphron Rising for different reasons. I really enjoyed the way Michael is able to keep the underlining plot going with a little different feel in each book. Makes if feel all new again without repeating the same thing over and over.

Right now I just finished Nyphron Rising and I absolutely loved it! Arista's character growth was astounding and I enjoyed every detail of it. Now I am starting The Emerald Storm. :)
Welcome Carrie glad to have you here. Yes Nyphron Rising is "the girls" book - really a lot of character growth for Arista and some better understanding into Arista.
Just came from a book club and we discussed how this series really has 4 main characters: Hadrian, Royce, Arista and Modina but when it starts out it seems to be just a Royce/Hadrian series.

Hey guys - glad to see you join the group. @Garrett - Since you are buying print books - you might want to get your order in for Wintertide as the print books will be discontinued soon - in leiu of the Orbit versions.

Of course I 've already read Viscount and the Witch and Michael's writing really got me! Btw Michael and Robin have been very friendly and they really care about their readers!

Seeing how enthousiastic I was about the series she decided to give it a go despite her not being a fantasy fan. Hope she likes it!

Michael and Robin are awesome, aren't they?
Hello and welcome the two new Michael's...wow must be something in the water here. And thank's Heather for saying such nice things.

@Rhonda you are quite welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the series.
@Wave Alan - always good to see you.
Thank you both for joining.

Thank you both for joining.

I joined the group hoping to stay in touch for future books and maybe a chance to become a Beta reader.
Once again, Mr. Sullivan, Thanks for the wonderful journey.
Sincerely,
Phillip
Hey Scott, thanks for joining. I think you'll be glad to know that I will be doing a third Chronicle story...working out the details now.
Phillip...welcome, and what a nice set of things to day. I so agree with you about Tim Gerard Reynolds and he has signed on for Chronicle #3 and the four book First Empire series.
We will be looking for beta readers in the not too distant future, so this is a good place to be for that.

First, I must say why did I wait so long to embark on this series, after purchasing them as they were released in original form.
With that I am in the middle of Volume 6 and have thoroughly enjoyed the series. I'm glad that you have written two other volumes on Royce and Hadrian and hope that you write more in the Riyria world. I have now purchased Hollow World, and look forward to reading it soon.
Thank you.

Well I finished and left a review. What a great series, really enjoyed it. I'm glad that I have two, now three Chronicle stories to read.
Right now I am starting Hollow World by Michael as well.
Thanks Frank! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I hadn't realized that I've not been in this group in so long. It's because I spend most of my time in "The Dark Room" (a secret and private group. I see you are also a part of that group, otherwise I would send you an invite.

I've just finished devouring all things Riyria with plans to listen to the audiobooks soon. I've got to say these books are quite a refreshing change of pace from a lot of the fantasy that's being put out now. While I don't shy away from the dark, gritty, and somewhat obscene stuff that is popular today, I love seeing a series that stands out without going down those paths.

For the rest of you, Melissa is someone who found Crown and did a wonderful review on her blog which I found by accident and replied to. She asked to interview me for her site and since then Melissa has become something of a Riyria Cheerleader. I've found her posting very nice comments nearly everywhere on the net. I'm not sure how I rate such generosity on her part, but it is fantastic find.
Thanks again Melissa, and have fun on GoodReads
