Wave Dee,
I think it is safe to say that Robin and I have named you the #1 fan. So glad you've enjoyed the Crown Conspiracy.

All teasing aside, as I have mentioned in other posts, after reading the first chapter, I had a gut feeling that your book would be a huge success, and my gut is never wrong.
Ahh, and to think we all knew you when ;]
Dee Marie
Lol Dee...I'm sure Michael didn't mean it in the Stephen Kingish sense. But I did enjoy that book and thought the movie adaptation was pretty good as well.

I'm Heather and just love The Crown Conspiracy! :-) I cannot wait for Avempartha! :-)

You're not the first. There is another GRs member who mentioned that too. There appears to be something about TCC that begs for a movie. Perhaps I should do like Dee and start a "who would star in the movie version" post, in order to start calling them now. Don't want them to commit to other projects =)

Your book could either be turned into something very good and entertaining.. or something very bad depending on who does the movie

Sarah I'm in the same predicament!
Hey Sarah and LIbby - Welcome !! I'm so glad you liked the first one and are excited about the second - I predict you'll love it -- I know I did.

I found this thread after either Robin or Michael posted about this group on the Sci Fi Fantasy group discussion about TCC. I am looking forward to spending way too much time talking about the twists, turns, and speculation (much to the laughter of the author, who already knows how the series ends) about the series and chatting with other Riyria addicts.

You know, I never would've heard about it without Goodreads, either! One more reason I'm glad I found Goodreads!

Anyway, started exploring the site, and voila! Here I am. I'm so glad to hear the Crown Conspiracy and Avempartha are doing well. We are waiting patiently for Nyphron Rising.

Welcome Renee - glad you found it!!

Re-reading is definitely something you want to do as the series progressess there are lots of things that are planted in early books that you don't fully understand or appreciate until later in the series.

So there will be some 'Ahhh...I get it now.' moments?
From an "appopriate" nature if she has read CC and Avempartha then she will be fine with Nyphron Rising. The books were written with an adult audience in mind but they are pretty PG-13 in nature. Not that I don't recommend you reading first before letting Cortney read them - I always suggest that but if you were okay with Avempartha you'll be find with Nyphron.

Renee wrote: "These books are definitely appreciated. My daughter has reread The Crown Conspiracy & Avempartha more than once. She's telling me about things that I missed."
Had to reply to this. This just made my day. Thanks ever so much for mentioning it.

Definitely! I refuse to re-read them until then, too. I loved the Belgariad/Mallorean by Eddings, but my wife & I started reading it the year after it came out. One book a year for the next 8 or 9 years & we'd at least skim the previous books each time. I got burned out on it by the end. Ditto with Harry Potter.
So I've re-read them many times ;-) But I must say that that even though I've read Nypron Rising several times in quick sucession I really enjoyed it each time. This bodes well as I was not in the same state of mind after The Crown Conspiracy and Avempartha. Not that I don't love all my children equally - but I do think they keep getting better and better with each one.

So far I would have to agree with that!

I've been "lurking about" but thought I would introduct myself. I'm Susan and I'm an intern that is working with Ridan Publishing. So I'll be "popping in" from time to time updating you on news about Michael's books.

How's it coming on the next book? We're both anxious!

Haha. I loved that Jim. You'll have to have her stock the freezer before she gets her hands on the next one.

;-)
Actually, I'm also a decent cook. I'm just too lazy. I should cook more since Marg hates to cook anymore, especially now that it's just the two of us after all those years of feeding a tribe. She's always very appreciative when I make dinner.
Tell Margaret that we finished editing The Emerald Storm last night and that the book has entered the proofing stage. That is to say, all the major work is done and we are down to the typos, commas and misspellings.
If I'm not mistaken, Jim, Robin has you down on her short list for beta testers so you might be getting an ARC copy real soon. So you might want to stock up on Ramen noodles.

(Just passing along what The Boss said. Don't shoot the messenger.)
;-)
It will be released in April, but don't have a hard date yet. Still hoping for the first week, but we'll see.

Standing up again..."Oh, and I do not wish to be cured of my addiction." Sitting down again.
Whispering to Robin and Michael, "Thanks for the invitation."
