@Judy, My dad bought her autobiography for 20p from the local car boot sale so I am waiting for him to finish it then will grab it lol =)
Today I picked up from the library:
and
on audiobook, and
and
in book form. Half way through the last one.
Just brought home Cutting for Stone and have been working my way through The Known World ( the second is for my bookclub and wishing we would read something really wonderful soon)

My god I am struggling but feel like I should put the effort in for my club but so far I don't care about these people, I am confused about who is who, and when is when, and could easily put it down and walk away and never think about it again! I think back to the first book about slavery that I ever read (back in junior high) and I was gripped through all 700 pages and I believe read it in a weekend (Roots: The Saga of an American Family) and wonder why this one is taking me longer and is so much shorter.
Sorry for the rant. Apparently I had to get it off my chest!

It was much better the second time around, that makes you feel any better.

Then more power to you. lol.
I'm so excited. Today I got membership from the American Center library and smiled my way at the sight of all those books to read. :)So today I got
and
from my previous library and
from the new one. :)Now just to find the time to read all of them.

I think so too. I was shocked at the site of students studying there. I mean how can you, with all those amazing books around? Some dedication, huh! :)
I have been a bad student. ;)
Went yesterday and got a new audio book
. I don't know anything about it but it looks good. Spring break is almost here so I'll be going back soon.

I am terrified by the length of this one. :)

Ohhh medical jargon - I really enjoy that in books! I worked in admin at a hospital for four years - I even know what cardiopulmonary-embolism is ;)
.. Yayyy library day!! We picked up a lot today but only a few pertain to me...
on Cd....
..
..
and
..I cant wait to get to them
Ohhhhhh pretty!!! I want to read The Future of Us soon - I was 14 in 1996 so it was totally 'my time!' If I'd seen my facebook page 15 years from then I would never have believed what I would be doing and where I'm living right now!
I just aaw on my library website that the worker's union went on strike today, I'm really sad that our mayor doesn't think our library is an asset to our city. We have 99 branches and he thinks its too many but the way the branches are built are so they are easily accessible to people in every community. I hope the talks can be resolved soon.
Wow what a dumbass.. books are important! What he should be saying there aret enough libraries! Not only do they provide free books for all but a safe haven for people.. a place to learn a new skill.. or bring neighbors together..
I'm so lucky to live in my community. We just passed a new bond for our libraries. I can't believe that people are so short-sighted as to think that libraries are luxuries.
I think this is the first time our library has gone on strike. I know it hasn't since I was born so we're lucky that way. But our new mayor is messing everything up, and no one is happy. If I didn't have the library growing up I probably would have turned out a lot different. Like Autumn ssid they're a safe haven for people. We're pretty much the most multicultral citie in the country and with 5 million plus residents we need the libraries.

Well, I am still plugging away on the Known World. Who knew such a short book could take so long. But looking forward to
Cutting for Stone. I took some medical anthropology courses and have several doctor friends so hopefully that will be enough to get me through the jargon. Will let you know once I have started it.
Shannon, I am sure you will enjoy CFS. There are lines in this book that will stick with you forever.
I brought home 4 reserves today. With a total of 1979 pages. One book has 1006 pages. See you at Christmas :-/

I should read Froer's book. I do love long books.
Picked up
by J.D.Robb,
by J.D. Robb and
by Laurence Cosse. Maybe I'll finish one of the Robb books for the Mystery challenge by the end of the weekend. I'm almost half done. I've always loved libraries. When my first son was a toddler, I didn't have a car and the library was within walking distance so we'd leave in the morning and sit in a corner of the children's section and I'd read book after book to him. Loved that.

I saw it first time on your blog and when I saw it in the library, I couldn't resist. I have started reading and it is looking good so far.
Because I need more books like a hole in the head I came home with Susanna Kearsley's Sophia's Secret, Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks by Christopher Brookmyre and The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory
