Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments I have one book as a possibility but can anyone help for 'make me laugh' April's challenge theme please? Thanks

Kimberly | 2033 comments What genres do you like Suzie??

message 53: by Snoozie Suzie (new)

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Generally: Historical Fiction, Mystery/crime/suspense, children's, fantasy, that kind of thing. Memoirs/biog/autobiog a possibility as is non-fiction.

I don't read horror, sci-fi, zombies, etc

:-)

Kimberly | 2033 comments Too bad you don't read sci fi I had the perfect title, hmmm..

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Sorry :-)

Kimberly | 2033 comments Dealing With Dragons was a funny YA novel (to me at least). It takes the usual fairytale princess and changes it up a bit. It's actually one of my favourite childhood reads.
The World According to Clarkson is funny too (but may not be your style).
Sh*t My Dad Says was really funny, I read it last year and loved it!

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments Thanks Cheryl, a different pair of eyes and brain are great! And one of them is a knitting book.

I'm currently listening to Crocodile on the Sandbank which is a mystery. The exchange between the protagonist and one curmudgeonly archeologist is quite amusing. I found myself laughing out loud this morning.

Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments I have just added a whole bunch of funnies to my kindle - like I need any more on TBR mountain range.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Well at least on your e-reader they're not physically weakening the floor - I'm in an upstairs apartment and I almost worry about my downstairs neighbors suddenly waking up one day with a hole in their ceiling and their tv buried under piles of books!

(I grin because I exaggerate - but imagining that does make a good nightmare. :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) This thread was set up when we were doing loose themed reads, like "Roughin' It." Now we're doing the Themed Group Reads instead, in which the books are selected by all of us for us to read.

But this is a useful thread for helping people choose books for the monthly Challenges, so I've just changed the title of it a bit. Ok, carry on! :)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments I switched it to the Challenge folder as well. It should be really clear now. :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) If anybody has a whim to explore another person's bookshelves, feel free to look at my 'to read for mt tbr challenge' for stuff that will work for Janice's 6-month challenge. :)

One that I like the look of on your shelf is Reservation Blues. Not sure that it would score mega-points but could be a refreshing read.

Other than that you have many that fit with the cover colour but don't seem to have too many with the right colour in the title. Crimson, emerald.

Just seen Violet Eyes: A Retelling of the "Princess and the Pea"

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ooh, good ones - I'm not worried about points, just want to qualify with ones I already own! Thank you. :)

message 68: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Cheryl - I see The Corridors of Time by Poul Anderson by Poul Anderson fits orange (and bonus of author's last name A)

Changes in the Land, Revised Edition Indians, Colonists, and the Ecology of New England by William Cronon by William Cronon Greenish and "The book that launched environmental history"

message 69: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Cheryl - The One-Straw Revolution An Introduction to Natural Farming by Masanobu Fukuoka by Masanobu Fukuoka is definitely green, and environmental.

Don't ask why I'm not picking the rest of my books right now. I just love researching things and finding the answers to odd/bizarre/trivia questions (and these challenge tasks definitely qualify!)

I copied that from the book's GR page :)
