Tell me what you think of The Future of Us by Jay Asher . Borrowed it from the library but I ended up putting it off for other books. Eventually had to return it without reading it. The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness was good.

The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer
FINALLY FINISHED CATCHER IN THE RYE!

message 911: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Welsh (katrinawelsh_) What did you think of Catcher in Rye, Scott? I hated it the first time I read it, but liked it the second time around.

message 912: by Jon, The Paperback Prince (last edited May 25, 2012 05:51PM) (new)

Jon (scottreadsit) | 5707 comments Mod
I hate it because I didn't really find any plot in the book. I found Holden a hypocrite because he claims he hates phonies yet he is the biggest phony. Catcher in the Rye for me wasn't life changing and to add to that I was forced to read it.

message 913: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Welsh (katrinawelsh_) Yeah. Readers either love Catcher in the Rye, or hate it.

So, I think you should know that The Future of Us is a good book, not great, and Clockwork Angel is amazing, and Matched was...okay. It had a lot of mixed reviews. I've heard of those other two but haven't read them! (:

Benny's dislike for his brother isn't explained right away. And Scott's right. Benny doesn't understand his brother and where's he's coming from. It'll make more sense to you later. Drove me mad at first.

I read all of those except for Knife of Never Letting Go. Matched I didn't like, The Way We Fall was very good, Clockwork Angel was very good, The Future of Us was okay!

I guess mostly it was the subject matter. I couldn't help thinking that it was all just so wrong and I thought at times the book was just very reptitive and could have been cut at least 100 pages. It was all just so dramatic and just wasn't for me..

message 922: by Nicole (new)

Kind of..I'm not a very open-minded person so that could be it too

message 924: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Sanglay (speckintheuniverse) Oh, because of the incest thing. Well that's the kind of book it is, you either love it or you hate it, because of the sensitive topic.

The idea was amazing but the book wasn't thought out well. The plot was very repetitive and I thought it would have been better.

The Savage Grace (The Dark Divine, #3) by Bree Despain

It does kind of feel the same as City of Bones, but once you read further into it, and the next book, you'll see that they differ[a little bit, hahah].
Personally, I liked it, so I wouldn't give up on it just yet if I were you...
