Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back, Eileen.
It's been on my maybe list for a while, but I'm not a fan of preachy books, so you've made up my mind :)
Finished And Then There Were None
-- probably one of my favorite Christies so far, which surprised me. Finished The Brass Verdict
also - which since I unexpectedly find myself serving on a jury this week was kind of apropos. Ripping through The Affair: A Reacher Novel
, The Kitchen Witch
, and my pen-pal books for two of my groups: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
; and The Borgia Bride
-- each fascinating in its own way and all very different reads.
Janice wrote: "I haven't read any of Lee Child's books. I keep seeing them and wondering whether I should try one."I've heard they're very good, my dad likes them a lot.
Judy wrote: "This sounds like a wonderful challenge theme --- read an author on your need-to-read-this-author list."Or, read an author you've never read before but are curious about.

good idea
I've read two Lee Child books, and I have almost the whole series. I enjoy them - a quick read with an action-packed story :)
I'm currently reading Uncommon Criminals because I enjoyed Heist Society. I'm listening to Kill You Last because it looked good and I'm waiting on The Fault in Our Stars from the library.
Stuart wrote: "I am reading Touch of Power byMaria V. Snyder, as I wanted to try a new author."She's a good author, I read Poison Study by her a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I've got Touch of Power sitting on my kindle waiting to be read.
I'm starting my re-read of
because after months of nominating it in another group it won! I can't wait to re-read it. I miss Jamie and Claire!!
Kimberly wrote: "I'm starting my re-read of

Outlander is the only book in the series I've read, and I really liked it. I must revisit these and complete them!
Eileen wrote: "Outlander is the only book in the series I've read, and I really liked it. I must revisit these and complete them!"I'm the same. I read the first book and really liked it. For some reason, I wasn't interested in reading the series. It was so long ago, I don't remember.
I've started Women, Food, and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything. It's part of my year long challenge and I'm going to include it in the "Something Learned Everyday" themed read.
I got halfway through the third, or fourth Outlander book - I loved the first two but then I got distracted (as always happens), and now I feel like I'd need to start all over again to get back into the story, and the size of the books daunts me :(
I listened to the whole Outlander series on audiobook. I don't care how long it is if it is on an audiobook. And the narrator, Davina Porter, is beyond excellent.
Susan wrote: "I listened to the whole Outlander series on audiobook. I don't care how long it is if it is on an audiobook. And the narrator, Davina Porter, is beyond excellent."Wow, you could do one heck of a long road trip with that series on audio... :)
Shannon wrote: "Susan wrote: "I listened to the whole Outlander series on audiobook. I don't care how long it is if it is on an audiobook. And the narrator, Davina Porter, is beyond excellent."Wow..."
Yes, i went around the entire world three times :-)
Susan wrote: "Shannon wrote: "Susan wrote: "I listened to the whole Outlander series on audiobook. I don't care how long it is if it is on an audiobook. And the narrator, Davina Porter, is beyond ..."LOL, Susan!

Just the first one, I own the rest of the series but haven't read them yet. I need to refresh my memory before I do.
My one beef with Diana Gabaldon is that she should remind the reader of things. She will say, for instance, "I knew that man looked familiar. It was Joe Jones. I never expected to see him again." She could say, "It was Joe Jones, who beat up Jamie and left him for dead in France twenty years ago." (Five books ago.) But the reader (me) is left sitting there thinking, "Joe Jones?!?!?"
Judy wrote: "Susan wrote: "The only problem was the last audiobook ended when I was in Antarctica."Did it freeze up? :-)"
Yes, and I'm stuck here until the next installment comes out.
Kat wrote: "Well at least it's only 2013 you have to wait until ;)"I just started the audiobook of
Lord John and the Scottish Prisoner by Giana Gabaldon which, which not really a part of the Outlander series, fills a segment of James Frazier's life. It should at least get to me Australia.
Janice wrote: "I haven't read any of Lee Child's books. I keep seeing them and wondering whether I should try one."Well, I love Lee Child so I'd say yes. :-). However, have you read any of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp books? Or Robert B Parker's Spenser? If you like either of those, then Lee Child is definitely for you.

So far I am enjoying it. what is refershing is that the main character is not on some mighty quest and is just trying to do what is right in difficult circumstances...
Just finished The Winter SeabySusanna KearsleyThis is my review www.goodreads.com/review/show/272781378
I don't think I ever would have bought this myself, but a few weeks ago I won a copy of Delirium. I'm reading it a bit due to peer pressure (bloggers love this book!), but also because its dystopia - nothing like a screwy government for entertainment!

Luuckkky! I want to read that one but a good friend of mine told me not to bother with it so I'm torn.

I have only heard good things about it.

It started well then slowed down considerably but picking up again now. I have a couple of quibbles with it but I'm going to reserve judgement until I'm finished!
I started The Windup Girl yesterday and gave up on it today. I couldn't get into it. In it's place, I started Crocodile on the Sandbank. It's for my Around the World Challenge, but it could also fit in with our mystery challenge.
Janice wrote: "I started The Windup Girl yesterday and gave up on it today. I couldn't get into it. In it's place, I started Crocodile on the Sandbank. It's for my Around the World..."Too bad you couldn't get into The Windup Girl, I really want to read that one.
Kimberly wrote: "Too bad you couldn't get into The Windup Girl, I really want to read that one."I was listening to it on audiobook format. It might be a better read in paperback or ebook format.

I'll keep that in mind, I'll see if my library has it.
I started Forbidden
by Tabitha Suzuma because I've heard all the hype about this one and thought it was high time to start it.
Just finished the wonderful Me Before You by Jojo MoyesThis is my review www.goodreads.com/review/show/291238936
I am currently reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, as I haven't read many classics and this is one that my sister recommended to me. I am enjoying it so far!

I have started reading Thirteen Moons, in my attempt to move through material that has been sitting on my bookshelf for more than two years. I really liked Cold Mountain, so I have high hopes for this Frazier book too.
