Absolutely not!!! I think of all Gaiman as adult kid's books (or vice versa). One of my favorite books this year was The Graveyard Book and Coraline is on my TBR.

I'm currently reading Death Comes to Pemberley and Duma Key. Quite the opposite writing styles and subjects.

Im actually not liking Coraline that much at all I don't think I would recommend this one.

So I finished both and tonight. I didn't care for Coraline at all and only gave it a one star, the book gave me a headache and I feel like I wasted my time reading it. On the other hand I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED In the Forests of the Night. It was just as good if not better than the first book in the trilogy. I'm really bummed that I have to wait until who knows when to read the third book.

I went ahead and purchased Death Comes to Pemberley & I look forward to reading it very soon. I'm in the first half of The Winter Sea and LOVING it. Very good so far. Just what I was looking for.

I'm still reading. I read all James' books. I really enjoy the Dalgleish series.

For the most part, the story was pretty good... I loved the language, made me "feel" as if I were reading an Austen-ish work. Her desriptions of the characters, their homes, etc., was wonderful - was as if you could "see" everything before you. But it dragged on a bit in some areas. Nothing extreme, but I was able to get through it, and came out with an overall sense of enjoyment :)

Something else I just thought of! LOL The author picked up several lines from Pride & Prejudice, and put her own little twist on them in this story. Such as when Lady Catherine spouts off about "Heaven and earth .... are the shades of Pemberley to be thus polluted!" ... The line isn't quite the same, but you pick up on them. Also, the "Knightley's" from "Emma" are briefly mentioned near the end of the story... thought that was an interesting addition! ;)

I love his writing, I finished his book a few months back and loved it. It was a gift my uncle gave me for Christmas or my Birthday when I was 7 and it took me 14 years to read it. I'm so glad I did!

I listened to it on audiobook earlier this year - and really liked it - proper vampires (no glitter) and pretty action-packed. Loved the main characters too.

Well I just stayed up way past my bed time (it's 3:30 am here) reading which I started at 10:30pm and I've finished it...quiet possibly one of the best romances I've read in years...now I have to write the review for Netgalley in the morning and decide what I'd like to read later today.

Are you trying to give yourself a reason to fear flying? My son said that he will never fly again. Then a few days ago, he went on a helicopter ride and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was reading a book about circus oddities when I was expecting my son. I took it to the hospital when I went into labour. The doctor came into the room and asked what I was reading. "What a book to be reading at a time like this!" was his started response. LOL!

I can tell you already that it is not your typical memoir. It's a free flow of thoughts, memories, and observations.

The writing seems amateur for an author who is published with several novels. Here's a paragraph from the book: Eventually the trail descends and crosses the big arroyo and continues; but here I turn and follow the big arroyo back home. The sandy bottom of the arroyo is criss-crossed with bird and animal tracks that make the trail that humans have used for thousands of years. In rough steep terrain arroyos may provide the only access to an area so the arroyos are "rights of way" fore wildlife and humans on foot.

There are several other paragraphs like this where she over uses words. Turquoise is one that got a good polishing in another paragraph.
