Elayne The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning has a tremandous build up and a "wow" moment!

Nico I think the Chicagoland Vampires series might be a good one for you.

Christina I just ordered the Fever series for my Christmas reading. I've heard nothing but great things about the series.

Cath Kara wrote: "I think the Chicagoland Vampires series might be a good one for you."

ditto

Kimi Didn't care for fever but I loved Dark Swan series and Georgina Kincaid series. =)

Trini Kara wrote: "I think the Chicagoland Vampires series might be a good one for you."

ooo i love that series!!!! you should definitely read it

Tatjana C I love the buildup as well, even though 5 weeks of training was summed up in a paragraph. I would've liked to see a little more of the back and forth during that time before they actually hooked up. Either way I freakin love this series :)

I didn't care for the Fever series either. Chicagoland is pretty good but my favorite romantic pairing to date is in the Gardella Vampire Chronicles series. The build up was done really well and you won't be disappointed when the main characters finally get together. Besides, the series is completed, so instant gratification.

How awesome! I'll have to check that out. I'm sorta disappointed by the hollows by kim harrison. I'm listening to the audiobook right now. The plot is kinda killin me. Plus there's no romance till the end but only a little.

I did enjoy Chicagoland but (view spoiler) so now I dnt really wanna read the most current book. I'll check out the one u said. =)

Kimi, you won't regret it. It's so good. The heroine kicks ass and the plot is full of twists and turns.

I agree with you on the Chicagoland. I still haven't read the latest book because you know who is not in it.

Alrighty... I'm adding them to my list. Hopefully I will get to it soon. My list is 1500+ books hahaha

HStevey310 for all those u didnt or couldnt get into the Fever series i was on the same boat i had the hardest time. i kept putting it down n coming back....i was like im goin to through the first book no matter what. The first book was hardest to get through from more than half of the book...but from there i couldnt put the series down and im really glad i didnt!!! its really different from Jeaniene frost books and others ive read. im really glad i finish it and have been recommending it to quite a few friends

Hi Heather. I was glad that when I picked the fever series it was completed because talk about cliffhangers. I read her Highlander series first and I quite enjoyed it, so I think my problem with the Fever series was the heroine not the plot per say. I didn't like her at all and I didn't like the side characters enough to compensate for it. But I did finish reading it. At least the ending was pretty good. Good twist there.

Steph For those who haven't read the latest Chicagoland b/c you know who is probably not it it, well I'll just say that may or may not be the case. Just say'n. I will say that don't like the direction the series is going.

Now, back to the original topic. If you are looking for a couple dynamic similar to Cat and Bones, I may have a few suggestions. If you are looking for a similar plot, I may have to dig a bit.

Fever is really good, but the first may have been the weakest of the bunch. Not to say I didn't like it, but the rest of the series is awesome in comparison.

For those looking for great couple dynamic and hot PNR with substance:

Fever Series (Lots of intrigue, fantasy, sexual tension-sex)
Love is Darkness (Book #1) Love is Fear (Book #2-Hot)
Darkest London Series (Book #1-Firelight) Hot
A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences-Phoenix Rising (No sex, but lots of romantic tension)
The Weather Warden Series
Jane Jameson Series
Dragon Bound (Book #1 only rec)
Jolie Wilkins series
The Shadow Reader

Hitandmiss Blood Wager (Blood Destiny #1) by Connie Suttle
The first 3 books are very similar in many aspects to this series.

If I had to explain the plots generaly it would be;
"A Vampire finding their way in a detective/mystery plot"
- Shifting to -
"Vampire + friends/mates entering the world of Vampire World Politics"

Vikki Elemental Assassins series by Jennifer Estep

Book 1 Spider's Bite

I love Gin's character :)

Vikki @ V's Book Life

I agree with the Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep. Great books, great characters. One of my favorite series to date!

Missyb LA Banks Crimson Moon series. It's about a power couple who come together under stressful circumstances, and end up together with a few rocky bumps along the way, but all 6 books they are the main couple with supporting characters, and each book is a different situation. The only difference is that it's about wolfs (good & bad), vampires, fae.

Carole Immortal guardians - dianne duvall Night Reigns (Immortal Guardians, #2) by Dianne Duvall
Sweetblood - Laurie London Bonded by Blood (Sweetblood, #1) by Laurie London

these are both on my To Read list, & I really liked the Night Huntress series, hopefully they live up to the hype

Nichole G I've noticed no one has mentioned the 2 best series ever so i get too!
The mercy Thompson series is awesome, and the Kate Daniels series. They both have love, hate relationships with the main men in these books. A lot of build up that makes u want to just keep reading!

Candice Terry jeaniene frost's other series involving spade and mencheres is very similar and i loved those ..just got done reading those 2 and night huntress 1-4 for the third time ! they are definetely unforgetable !

Jenn I love Jeaniene Frost. I recently ordered Elle Jasper Dark Ink Chronicles, I heard her books are similar to Night Huntress Series. I am looking forward to starting them.
