Latasha wrote: "I just listened to The Squaw. I do not recommend this if u like cats. I do love them and wish I had be warned. it's not terrible, but I wouldn't have listened if I had known. also, The Cold Embrace..."the hostess of a podcast i listen to has talked about that book before.
I'm currently listening to Doctor Sleep on CD in the car and NOS4A2 and The Cuckoo's Calling off my phone. They are all good so far.

Good to know. I've only read this series and maybe I'll do the audio version when book 7 comes out in January.

she did a great job!
I'm listening to The Magicians Guild by trudi canavan, I loved the book, so I thought I'd try the audio version.
Monica wrote: "I just finished listening to The Haunting of Hill House."did u like it? I listened to the audio book as well and loved it!

I did like it Latasha! This was only my second audio book I have ever tried. But I thought it was great! I have been listening to them on the way to work and back.
jennbunny wrote: "I finished A Walk in the Woods.....by Bill Bryson. It was a terrific book."Glad to hear it. I've been meaning to get that one.
I just finished
it was ok. this is the 2nd story I've read set in the Victorian era and to be honest, I just don't think it's for me. I get so aggravated at how "a lady is suppose to act."
Neil Gaiman reading his novel The Ocean At The End Of The Lane! His voice is magical!
I started
last night. I do enjoy John Saul from time to time. audible is having a great sale-400+ books only 4.95. I bought a lot! I got:Anita by Keith Roberts (about a witch)
Picking Up the Ghost
Spider's Bite
Moon Dance
The Haunted
Phantoms
Bloodshot
yeah!! 4.95 each!! there was so many more but I had to limit myself! lol
Honestly, the book (not novel) that I'm listening to while reading it currently is... The Book of Mormon. It is my first time reading it and some missionaries came by and asked me to read it honestly and I will do it.

Out of interest, who do you think is the best reader for horror fiction? I'm of the opinion that the reader makes a big difference in an audiobook, so I'd be keen to find out about any exceptional readers.
I agree...a good narrator makes a big difference. Tim Curry is excellent. I tried Maya Angelou but I didn't like her narration.
I get my audio books from audible. some narrator's I've really liked: Simon Vance (the vampire lestat)
Bernadette Dunne (we have always lived in the castle & the haunting of hill house)
Angela Dawe (house of reckoning)
Ray porter (hell house)
Right now I'm listening to Carte Blanche by Kyle Mills. It's a new entry in the James Bond series and leaves a little to be desired.
I am listening to Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail and Chomp. I really need to get these two done. Wild is taking me forever as parts of the story are good, but parts are just not worth mentioning I think.
Those are some good suggests for readers. I'll have to look into that. I think a good read will definitely add to the creepiness factor.

A few off the top of my head.
I just finished
it was narrated by dan butler. he was ok, I didn't notice him trying to use a different voice for each male but at times when the story was getting intense I did notice him reading in a lower tone, almost a whisper but you could still hear him just fine. I really liked this book. it kept my attention, the characters were likable & believable. the plot moved along just fine. there was some scary and intense moments. definitely worth an audible credit! i'll probably start
tonight. it's only 5 and a 1/2 hrs so I should be able to finish that tonight while working.
I use audiobooks when I commute to work, since its almost an hour each way. I recently finished
and am now listening to
Firstly I have to admit I am an audiobook addict. Now that is off my chest I am currently listening to
by J.L. Bourneand am loving it so far.
I am currently listening to Pale DemonI've read all the other Rachel Morgan books up to this point. the narrator for this one is Marguerite Gavin. I like her so far. I'm also working on Hall of Mirrors: Tales of Horror and the Grotesque. Volume 1 this is a freebie on iTunes. I've listened to Trolls and The Grave.
Not really a book but I am listening to An Evening With Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer, shorts; poems and songs in front of a live audience.
I'm listening to
I'm about 40% in and I really like it so far! audible had/has a 4.95 sale going on. I got 5 or 6 books? it ends 2/19/14.

Finished Eyes to See I enjoyed it so much I jumped into the second book in the series King of the Dead
Almost done with The Modern Scholar: Evolutionary Psychology I: The Science of Human Nature by Allen D. MacNeill. Outstanding series. Already have the second lecture set in the backseat of my car waiting for me to finish the first.
I'm currently listening to The Drawing of the Three and am almost at the end. This is my second time through this series and I love the nostalgia I keep feeling.

Finished it recently, I really enjoyed it.
I'm about to start listening to Ghost Story. This has been a long time coming.

we need a like button over here!
Currently listening to The Boyfriend by Thomas Perry. I seem to be on something of a mystery/thriller kick of late with audio books. For some odd reason I find myself listening - and enjoying - to quite a bit of fiction I'd never in a million years pick up in book format. Go figure.
