December by Phil Rickman and The Fog by James Herbert. Since Mr. Herbert died in March, a lot of his books are coming out in audio unabridged. Yay.

They're available on Audible.com but you have to be careful and search for 'unabridged' versions because they also have several abridged books by Herbert.
Dracula is one of those novels which truly deserves to be called a classic. Had you read it prior to listening to it as an audiobook, Jenn?
jennbunny wrote: "I just finished Dracula and it was terrific!"Sounds like something I sound be listening too.
Eileen....I got it off Audible, but you might be able to find it elsewhere. I actually got it for free as I had some coupon thing a long time ago. It is a two part audiobook and is just over 15 hours. http://www.audible.com/pd/Classics/Dr...

from audible. it's on sell today for 4.95. it sounds interesting."I will be interested to hear what you think. Both my husband and I loved it. We thought the narrator, Ray Porter, was excellent.
I'm listening to 11-22-63.
Since I finished listening to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, I am now moving on to Interview With The Vampire.
so far I like 14. my ipod listening hours got cut back so I haven't got to listen as much as I would've liked.
jennbunny wrote: "Since I finished listening to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, I am now moving on to Interview With The Vampire."I just listened to the vampire lestat not too long ago. I've read all the vampire chronicle books. anne rice is my favorite! :)
I just got Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter The librarian said she was almost convinced there must of been vampires because it was like a documentary with photos and all. I felt disappointed that I would not be able to see the photos. On closer inspection I realize the audiobook comes with a pdf version of all the photos. Yay!
I abandoned Something Wicked This Way Comes. For me it felt like work following & deciphering the prose. And with an audiobook I don't often go back and re-read a sentence or paragraph until I understand like I would with a book.

I decided to listen to
because it is narrated by Jim Dale!!! He is a fantastic voice artist. He narrated the Harry Potter series as well - that's how I found him.
is that book good? I just finished 14. omg! that's the best book I've listened to/read in a long time! I absolutely loved it! i'm trying to get my husband to listen to it. he's not much of an audiobook kinda of guy but I think he would love it too!

You've all peeked my interest in the book 14. I'm sorry I didn't pick it up when it was 4.95 at audible.
Just finished listening to From Troy to Constantinople: cities and societies of ancient Turkey. Now listening to The Philosophy, Practice, and Science of Crime Scene Investigation, Part 1: The Modern Scholar.

Walter are you doing research for future books or perhaps in school?

Corinne, it's really a bit of dovetailing. I love learning, and that's why I make use of my driving-to-work time to listen to various lectures from the Modern Scholar series. But I do tend to favor the ones my local library carries which I think might apply to a present or future novel project. :)
I have an audio book of Cell, which I've read but wanted to listen to, just got done with the first CD of 12. Read by Campbell Scott
I would listen but I am definitely not a audio learner so I would lose interest or not notice that it's on. I wouldn't say no to trying it.
I just finished listening to Interview with the Vampire....loved it. I normally can't do audio, but at work while I sort mail I can listen.
Latasha wrote: "Being new to Stephen King & so far enjoying the Sept. group read, I hit iTunes to see if I could find any freebies. well I did. I found "The Man in the Black Suit" over at Chilling Tales for a Dark..."I never thought to go to itunes! that is great.
Just a note, anyone else who finds anything good on audio, please message me. I love to read but I did notice I have been reading to much so if I can break it up with an audiobook, that would be great. Thanks!
I listened to the lurking fear by h.p. lovecraft last night. I absolutely loved it!! the version I listened to was from hp lovecraft live (on iTunes). the reader was fantastic!

i'm currently working on
.wow...! what a governess! she isn't scary yet just a crazy, money hungry drunk!
Just finished
... Quite good, though the narrator -- Robin Sachs -- had a rather distracting way of pronouncing "Potomac," and said word seemed to come up about every thirty seconds or so, given the topic. When will those zany Brits learn to speak English, eh? :pAm currently listening to
. And, as usual, Winchester finds a way to make the oddest topics interesting.(Funny how I personally find it just about impossible to listen to fiction in an audiobook format. No idea why.)
Eileen, I really loved the audiobook of Hell House. I got it from audible. The reader was very good & it was very disturbing, almost uncomfortable to listen to at times.
i'm having a horrible time getting through Uncle Silas. i do not like Maud at all! how old is this girl? i thought she was 17? She is awful. She's scared of everything! i have no idea how she doesn't die of fright from just walking out of her bedroom every morning. i know, i know. it was wrote along time ago and it was different then but agh! i love Carmilla but i don't know if i can make it through this book.
I just listened to The Squaw. I do not recommend this if u like cats. I do love them and wish I had be warned. it's not terrible, but I wouldn't have listened if I had known. also, The Cold Embrace and Other Ghost StoriesI listened to the cold embrace. I liked it. I had read it before, though.
I've been listening a little bit to The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America. It seems I can't get away from Scott Brick. He's not bad or anything though, he just reads a little slow for me.
