The rough plot line is it's a bunch of teenagers that have different psychic powers and have social coping issues. They're grouped together by some "big brother"/father figure and he gains their trust and starts helping them increase their abilities.
The main character is a girl and she falls for one of the guys, a 'bad boy'. Typical, eh? :P
Anyhoo as the story develops turns out "big brother" is training them to break into a bank, and do all kinds of bad things. Main girl and guy have to decide whether or not they want to participate or run away. In the end, she manages to convince him to run away and the rest of the series revolves around them trying to break up this psychic terrorist group and liberate themselves from "big brother" who apparently has powers as well.
Main girl uses a sensory deprivation tank to help heighten her powers and I think she has issues with claustrophobia and intimacy issues too.
I can't remember any character names off hand, but for some reason "Claire" is stuck in my head. It's entirely possible that I've mixed stories as well, but I don't think I have.
