I'm finishing up an old favorite Dragons of Autumn Twilight. And then will start The Night Circus later.

Finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last night. I found it satisfying. :)Now I've just started The Omen Machine by Terry Goodkind.

No, this is my first Jack Vance book... so far it has me hooked :)

Let me know how it goes with The Omen Machine. I loved The Sword of Truth Series. But for me it ended with the last book. The Omen Machine will surely ruin my opinion of the series.
Finished The Night Circus last night. I didn't love it but I did really like it. I look forward to discussing it.Started Un Lun Dun. I must not be in the mood for conventional fantasy. This is my first China Miéville and I thought I'd start with what looked like the easiest.
I finished recently The Lies of Locke Lamora which I really enjoyed, even though it took me a while to get into it.Now I'm listening to Genesis and reading some romance.
I was peeking at GR Choice Awards winners and I decided to try some of them. Finished Clockwork Angel, it started very good but romance handled quite badly that it stole from the spirit of the first half of the book one whole star, ended up 3 stars rating though it was an easy 4 stars at the first half of the book. Then I picked up Divergent. I think I'm in love with this book. If it goes like this, I'll be happily giving a 5 stars. It has been quite some time since I gave 5 stars to a book.
I read Divergent, liked it but didn't love it. I'm half way through Honor Harrington book4, liking parts of it but glad it was free.
I didn't care for Divergent (to put it mildly for any who has read my review.) But different strokes and all that!

I tried reading The Omen Machine a while ago and didn't like it much.
I need to read two more books to hit my goal of 2011. I'm currently reading Side Jobs: Stories From the Dresden Files and I think #50 will be Shadow's Lure
Oh that's good to hear, Stefan! I've enjoyed the first two a lot and I'm looking forward to the third.
That's one of the reasons why I haven't started Hammered. I figured I'll read it closer to the publication of Tricked so I don't have to wait long. ;)
Finished The Night Circus and I think I fall squarely into the "love it" camp. Am now starting Count to a Trillion byJohn C. Wright -- it's been a while since I read any hard SF and the write-up he posted on John Scalzi's blog was intriguing.
I just finished
and wow! It's a really philosophical book about the nature of thoughts and ideas. Definitely thought provoking.
Currently reading The Key of Faylyn. Has some editing and format issues, but good creativity by an independent author.
R.L. wrote: "Currently reading The Key of Faylyn. Has some editing and format issues, but good creativity by an independent author."First impression: It has a very dull cover. This is not to say that it isn't a good book... but it does have dull artwork. :)

Yes, it represents a lost opportunity for the author.
I'm reading The Blade Itself, The Bloody Crown of Conan, A Nameless Witch, and about 20 other books that aren't fantasy. I don't expect to be done anytime soon.
I finished Count to a Trillion and am happily returning to fantasy with Black Gate 15. (Black Gate is a sword-and-sorcery short fiction magazine that I've subscribed to for quite some time but haven't always been good about reading; this is the first issue they've made available in the Kindle store, which I think will make it easier for me to stay caught up.)
Finished Reaper's Gale. Finally. Will start Toll the Hounds tonight or tomorrow. I want to catch up with the sister group some day...

I was introduced to Black Gates by one of my english teacher I had two summers ago who has his story in one of the past issues. Gave us Black Gate 13 to read, love it.

I'm pretty sure I have the complete run of print issues although actually digging them out of boxes would be . . . challenging.
Does anyone else subscribe to/read fiction magazines? I've been getting Weird Tales and Realms of Fantasy for years although I admit that most of the time I just read the columns and reviews and skip past the short fiction.
Earlier this month, I read Good Omens and The Magician King. Also, I am halfway through A Clash of Kings. After that, I'll be tackling Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and The Night Circus.
I loved the Night Angel Trilogy. It was the best series I read in 2010. The third book, Beyond the Shadows, was actually my favorite. I may even reread the series next year since it looks like it's going to be March's BOTM for a group I'm in.I REALLY want to read Wheel of Time but it's so intimidating. My boyfriend has the whole series and insists that if I read it I have to read the whole series at once. For those of you who are/have read the series, how did/do you do it?
I'm currently reading The Bleeding Season, Dead as a Doornail, and The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America.
I finished Black Gate 15 (I hope they reissue more of their back catalog for Kindle) and am going to be starting Dragon Age: Asunder by David Gaider.

Darn you Joseph.((JK!)) How do you keep finding these books I want to add to my TBR pile. It's big enough already!

Lisa wrote: "Darn you Joseph.((JK!)) How do you keep finding these books I want to add to my TBR pile. It's big enough already! ..."Call it a gift . . . :) If it's any consolation, my TBR pile could probably last me to the heat death of the universe.
Currently reading The Secret Life of Bees, and after that I have Tina Fey's Bossypants lined up. Can't wait!
Traci wrote: "I had no idea there was a new Dragon Age book out. :)"It just came out a couple of weeks ago. It's set in Orlais a few years after the events of DA2. So far, so good . . .
Currently trying to decide between The Name of the Wind and Retribution Falls. Leaning towards the former, I think.
Finished Dragon Age: Asunder, which I thought was excellent, although I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you've played the games. And am starting The Hunger Games at the insistence of my girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter (and other sources I trust).
Jeni wrote: "Currently trying to decide between The Name of the Wind and Retribution Falls. Leaning towards the former, I think."Jeni I really enjoyed The Name of the Wind. Haven't read Retribution Falls - looking into that now.

I'm reading The Magician King now, and recently finished the first book in the series The Magicians. Before starting this series I read HELPER12 a dystopian book with a very interesting world, but failed to deliver in plot. It was still enjoyable though.
