Elizabeth Drake (elizabethdrake) | 1 comments I am looking for Red Dress Ink books with a touch of magic or the paranormal. I have read Mindy Klasky's books and would love to find something in the same vein.

Hating Valentine's Day by Alison Rushby has a little bit of magic in it. But I'll warn you, it's not the best book I've ever read.

There are some others I think that I've read but can't remember off the top of my head. I'll have to go through my list.

However, a couple of non-RDI recommendations would be a series by Shanna Swendson - Enchanted, Inc., those were really good. And also by Erin McCarthy there's a book and a sequel - A Date with the Other Side, and Heiress for Hire. Though the second doesn't have as much paranormal as the first one.

And I've kind of gotten on a whole YA paranormal kick after reading Kiersten White's Paranormalcy (the first in a series of three, third one isn't out yet). Especially stuff to do with faeries. Carrie Jones and Melissa Marr both have series with faeries and what I've read so far has been good. Also, Lisa McMann has a good series if you haven't read it that starts with...I think Wake. Those are awesome too.
Sorry, I know you specified RDI. I'll run through the list of the ones I've read and try to remember....

Suzanne | 767 comments I was going to say that if you're interested in YA paranormal, Paranormalcy and Supernaturally by Kiersten White are both good! :)

Ok, just checked through the list of the ones I've read - aside from the Mindy Klasky ones.
Me vs. Me by Sarah Mlynowski is a touch....something. It's along the lines of alternate universe type stuff. Really good book. She also wrote a kind of similar but from a different angle alternate universe type of YA book called Gimme a Call that was also really good.
Some more recommendations (non-RDI) are A Little Help From Above by Saralee Rosenberg, The Ten Best Days of My Life by Adena Halpern, and Pinch Me also by Adena Halpern.

Then, if you like mermaids - Tera Lynn Childs has a two book series Forgive My Fins and Fins Are Forever, that I've recently read and liked. (Again YA.)

I know I gave you more non-RDI than RDI, I hope I was able to help you out. :)

Leah (leahmichelle) I don't have an RDI suggestion, but if you're looking for a non-RDI magic book then Cecelia Ahern is the place to go. She's really, really good at that. Also, Alexandra Potter's later books feature magic, not overtly, but it's there!

Adena Halpern, as Stacy suggests, is also a must read. I looove Adena, I still remember Pinch Me months later! :)

Suzanne | 767 comments I love Adena Halpern's books too! I recommend them as well. Also, if you are looking for non RDI books with magic, I highly recommend anything by Sarah Addison Allen. I love her books!

I haven't read any of Mindy Klasky's books so I don't know if these are similar at all. But maybe it will help.

Diary of a Blues Goddess I think has a little paranomal to it. I tried to read it and couldn't really get into it. I'll have to try again some other time....
