One wonderful YA series I would suggest is the Circle of Three series by Isobel Bird. It begins with So Mote it Be and is all about three girls and their year and a day study of the religion of Wicca and other Pagan religions. It does a great job explaining and educating as well as entertaining as you read.http://www.goodreads.com/series/41808...
The Secret Circle is pagan/witchcraftFallen series (Angels/fallen angels, fight for good and evil, Satan, God...)
And I'm not sure if they fall under YA or not- but Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony (Starts with On a Pale Horse)
The Sweep (Wicca in the UK) series by Cate Tiernan deals with Wicca in a pretty realistic way. The religious aspects are relatively accurate, the special powers not so much. The author also wrote another series dealing with magic called Balefire.
The twilight saga might be included in this with the whole good/evil and soul issues in it and its a very popular ya series.
you might also try Lloyd Alexander and his Prydain series. The Book of Three is the first one. I think that this qualifies as YA.

I'm in desperate need of help with some book recommendations for YA that have either a religious subject or something similar. I'm taking a theology class (college requirement) and the main assignment is how to implement a theological POV in my field of work; mine is English Education so i chose to use books as a medium. But i haven't read many books on this subject in particular. Of the top of my head the ones i know i have read are The Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman and The Lord of the Rings which I will be using but i'll need some more examples. Books have to be for YA since i'm studying to be a high school teacher. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
