Merge Books?

I am thinking that the following two books need to be merged. They are both ebooks - only one with ISBN number.

I have librarian status, but I don't quite understand how to merge a duplicate entry of a book with another. (I can't figure out the first step in the manual of "1. Separate the duplicate and its actual edition from any other editions of that book.")

That step primarily matters when the duplicate is clearly of a specific edition (based on cover, publisher, etc.), which was not true in this case.

The other thing to keep in mind is that an edition that has been shelved by more than 5 users can only be deleted by a superlibrarian, which is what the "please delete" thread is for. I got this one.

Are they the Italian editions of First Drop of Crimson? If so, please advise so they can be combined.

Yes it is. But the two links should be merged because they are the same edition of the italian version, one without isbn (not combined as was done). ;)

They need to be merged, but I'm not sure how. One of them does not show up in the combine editions area. Although, they are both leading to the same number of ratings, etc. Does this mean that I just added two different books to my to-read list? :/

They are combined, they do not need to be merged since they have different ISBN's.

Edit: You may have added 2 different editions to your shelves

I figured out that's what I did. Thanks. :) I'm a librarian, too, and was trying to merge them and couldn't. I guess I just wanted confirmation that I wasn't doing something wrong. Thank you!

FYI - we use the term merge to delete one edition and merge the reviews and ratings to another edition

The reason I didn't merge, was they had different publishing years and publishers.

Matt, the default edition is the one that most people have added to their shelves, so you can't force it to be a specific one.
