Ash H q You are an AMAZING author! Thankyou for creating this world that so many of us love! My question is: Will these books be made into movies? Is that something you would consider doing?

Jessika Hi Cassie, I just want to say that I think CP is your best work yet and definitely a huge favorite of mine. I literally SOBBED at the end of CP. and my love for Will has only strengthened as I mourn for him in the dreadful wait for Clockwork Princess. anyway, my question is this, is the script for CoB completed yet? Thank you so much!

Grace oh goodness, where do i begin! you are an AMAZING writer and I strive to be half as good as you. I've only read city of bones, ashes, and glass but i own city of fallen angels and clockwork angel so far. gonna get clockwork prince for christmas :) so please no spoilers in this chat...

Alicia Huggett good evening Miss Clare :P love your work, just finished Clockwork Prince and am truly still stuck in British mode! Q: my question is how you tie up all these complicated plot lines. I myself have attempted to write a novel and was quite challenged by the prospect of making the whole story make sense. How do you twist together all of these complicated ideas without revealing too much or too little? As I stare at several pages that make no sense i wonder how i could possibly manipulate my plot to make my ideas align together in a comprehensible story line. The point of this being: Is there any method to the madness? Does a plan help or is it a waste of time? Any suggestions?

Kelsey q I have an idea for novel that I have actually started. I love my characters and their story, but I sometimes feel like I don't know everything about my characters. Do you have any suggestions for getting to know/ creating deeper characters? Thanks so much! I love your books, especially your characters-- they are beautiful! -Kelsey

Candy4u Will Tessa make another appearance in the TMI series?

Angelina q did you base any of your characters' characteristics off of people that you know? and what inspired you to become an author? I'm a huge fan of TMI series and TID series. thanks!

Riley Hello Cassandra! I was wondering what led you to become a writer? Did it start out as a fun hobby or what? What helps you write?

Jamie Green What was your inspiration to start writing? Your books are excellent and I'm very excited for the next book in each series. Also, what made you want to end the stories in cliffhangers? That last one was huge. :) thank you for your time.

Anna McGonnell What do you think about random people writing books? I am very found of how creative they are. They are so different then any other books that i have ever read. How do you get your inspiration to write? I love your books. All of them! My favorite is the first book. Me being me I love how they meet. It makes me smile remembering how I started reading them. I was on the way home from a long trip when my dad wanted to stop at a store and get some books for himself. I walked in with a bored look on my face. I started to look around and I saw a book that says Stephenie Meyer likes says: stuff. I thought it was by her so I bought it and then realized it was by you! I told all my friends about my new favorite series. Most of them loved them. And the rest of them I am still made at them! haha love you and your books!

Lily First let me say that I absolutely ADORE you and all your works!! (Jem officially has my heart and soul, no matter how fictional he may be). My question is what's next after TMI and ID (whenever that sad day comes). Do you have any ideas or guess yet? Again, I LOVE your writing, and can't wait for more!!

Amanda Tran Hey Cassie!!! My friend and I met you at your New York City signing of Clockwork Prince! I wanted to ask you on the first 3 covers of Mortal Instruments, the faces of the characters were cut off. The Infernal Devices' and City of Fallen Angels' covers has the faces of the characters shown though. So what made you change your mind and want to show the faces of your characters? Or was that the cover artist's decision?

message 64: by Arianne (new)

Arianne Hi Cassandra Clare! First off, let me just say that you are my favorite author. I really like both series about Shadowhunters, Jace, Clary and who could forget Simon. I really like how it seems you chose each word in the story to be perfect and join together to make the perfect book. I am a huge fan. I was also wondering if you had any tips for me. I had written a letter to you for this competition about how your book changed me. I written about Clockwork Angel. I did not win though but it was a great experience. This year I am participating in a program called Future Problem Solvers. I am writing a story in futuristic terms and I was wondering if you had any tips for me. I am currently having a writers block. ): I can't wait for more of your books to come. Thanks for making another great series for me, a total bookaholic, to enjoy. THANKS!!

Curls How did you first come up with the premis for your books and the idea of the Shadowhunter world, downworlders, demons and all?

message 66: by Jaci (new) - added it

Jaci Q: Like Alec, I am also curious of Magnus's relationship or association with Will. You left me hanging! ;) Can you give any feed back about those two?

Shani Cassandra Clare, I've noticed that you enjoy using cool, underrated words in your books, is there a reason for this/ do you already know most of the words before you put them in your book, or do you look them up on google or something? p.s your awesome and I love your books, I can't wait to read clockwork prince

Margot Q: how did you come up with the idea of Shadowhunters?

Shani Q. after you finish the Mortal instruments series will you write a quick--this is what is going on with all of the characters years after everything is said and done chapter? (because that would be fantastic--I might even be willing you make a shrine for you if you did...except that would be creepy, so maybe not. But still it's the thought that counts)

message 70: by Kayla (new) - added it

Kayla I love this sereis so much. You have a gift, Ms. Clare. My English teacher dislikes the fact that you wrote the main series and then the prequel series, though. Why did you write the story of Clary before the story of Tessa?

Amrita K hey cassie...i dont have any questions but i'll definetly be listening in. I guess i just wanted to say that your books are awesome and i know that its very commonly said (well, it is true!!) and that they are very inspiring to young authors like me. So i wanna say thank you for writing these books and encouraging us to be like you and giving us someone to look up to.

Amrita K By the way i started CP today and i am so...awwed!!!!! its BEAUTIFUL!!!

message 73: by Devon (new)

Devon Hello Miss Clare - I have read so far all of your work in the clockwork series, and I found that the "prequel" starter for your second series, seemed to be almost identical to your first set *which in of itself was amazing* so if you get to see this message, I'd really like to know how/why this one will be different. Thanks.

message 74: by Joyzi (new) - added it

Joyzi Q Are you planning to write a book series other than the world of shadow hunters? And another question, out of all the books you write, which one is your most favorite character and why?

message 75: by Gaby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gaby hi Cassie, you've exceeded yourself again with CP, it's amazing I can't describe how perfect it is! my question is, has there been any character you'll like or would have liked to explore more? cheers from Mexico!!

Angela Hanson Q: Cassanda. I am a bookseller for a bookstore that is 142 yrs old. I started a YA event in 2011 with 12 participating authors that was a HUGE success. For 2012 I've had authors such as Cinda Williams Chima, Gregg Olsen & Kiki Hamilton all show intrest for the event. I've talked to Maggie Stiervater, Shannon Delany among others for participation as well. I've created quite the following for you in the Columbia River Gorge and it would be an honor to talk to you about your future books, the YA event or ANY event that you might be willing to participate in. I'm a huge fan and advocate and I will keep my fingers crossed to hear back from you! Klindt's and I would be honored! -Angela Hanson

Tasnia Are you going to make any new series that are similar to immortal instruments and The Infernal Devices series?

message 80: by Gen (new)

Addy Hiya Cassie! First of all, I absolutely love your books! I first came across it at the library a year or two ago and got hooked. My question is how you first became inspired to write your incredible story?

message 87: by Helena (new)

Helena Hey Cass, I know you started writting fiction in ff.net, Do you think that starting your writing in fanfiction helped you develop as a writer?

Helena Q:Hey Cass, I know you started writting fiction in ff.net, Do you think that starting your writing in fanfiction helped you develop as a writer?

Sasha Q: Where did you get the idea for Nephilim or people with angel blood?

Sasha Q: When did you know you wanted to writer for a career?

Sasha Q: Do you (tease, tease) have a weakness for beautiful but broken men?

Sasha Q: I'm reading Clockwork Prince now and I notice how there is always some sort of diversion between characters when they are about to divulge something important to each other and they are interrupted by other characters before they can divulge what they were going to say...usually this leads to more awkwardness and confusion for the two characters, such as Tess and Will...is this intentional to save the juiciest information to be revealed towards the end of a book or is it just to drive your readers CRAZY!!??!!??!?!?

message 93: by Amy (new)

Amy Hey Ms. Clare!!! You're one of my fav authors EVER, and I love the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices. q I know this is, way in the future, but when you're done with the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices, will you write more books in the shadowhunter world?

Sasha Q: Off the record...as in you don't have to answer this unless you want to...do you really have to be quite so hard on Jace?? I mean just let him love Clary for a bit without something dramatic happening....no, no, I know that's part of the story...after all isn't that what make it so exciting?? Thanks for writing such an amazing series of books...I officially LOVE Magnus Bane!!!

message 95: by Amy (new)

Amy q Will they find a cure for Jem? I know this might be a bit of a silly question, but I (and probably quite a few other readers) would most likely be distraught if they didn't find one.

Andrez Hey, I love your work, and I heard you were writing a Pride and Prejudice retelling, is it true?

message 97: by Joan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Joan Hi!!! Love your books but I have a question for you! Why choose the Victorian time as the background for ID but not a period way back, like Medieval?

aimee (aimeecanread) Hi! I love TMI and TID! In which specific book will we learn about the connections between the characters in MI&ID?

message 99: by Mew (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mew Q: Hello Cassandra! I want you to know that I am a big fan of your works and I am also a Magnus and Alec fan. I just want to ask how did you come up with the idea of their relationship? I mean, about the bisexual and gay thing?

message 100: by Mew (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mew Hi! I also want to know, can you give us some more of Magnus' past? I just really love that warlock. xD
