Jessica (JeSsIcA-write-a-lot) | 42 comments Mostly writing; I write books and music, and am learning to play the guitar. Other than that, I love listening to music, watching movies or just watching bad reality TV. I'm also finding that I enjoy cooking, and I've been meaning to take up yoga, but I never have the time. Family is super important to me, so I love goofing off with my sisters, and running around with my niece and nephew.

It's very cool to see what the diverse members of our group are interested in.

Jessica, I am quite a foodie, and I like discovering new recipes, since I'm not the most creative cook.

Cricket, do you get lost in the hobby store like I do? Michaels is a dangerous place for a hobbyist.

Wow! I have a colleague who writes in calligraphy and each of her work is just stunning! What kind of topics do you prefer to write in Calligraphy?

I love cooking and recipe collection as well as sewing. As winter is approaching her (Australia), I am picking materials to sew clothes for my dog (he gets realy cold and starts shivering, bless him)...I made him a butterfly wings when I took him to our church..he looked so funny! Once a year our church invites pets for blessing...The whole yard gets to be packed with animals...this year, I am hoping to make a bumblebee costume for him with cute cutest possible antennas 8D

I am in awe of you, Lily. I have no talent when it comes to sewing arts. There is a knitting group at church that I plan to join when I can, and I warned the coordinator that I would need remedial studies. :)

I bet you have to be very careful collecting wild berries and mushrooms, Danny, since many are toxic.

I did gather them when I was still in kindergarten. Nothing wrong has ever happened to me, except an indigestion for overeating mushrooms. :) But it was soooo good!

Yes, you have to be sure what you are eating. Paul has a very effective method not to be sick. He waits and sees if I get sick. If not, he eats the mushrooms we gathered. lollll

He says: "One has not to be sick to bring the other to the hospital". Funny guy!

Echo (mrsbookmark) | 307 comments I wish I could sew.
I don't have many hobbies. Most times I make craft toys for my toddler. . I made a spaceship out of cardboard boxes; trying to make a go cart from milk cartons.

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

It is easy to sew..first get yourself a simple sewing machine and join a sewing class for basics...and then voila! But nake sure you buy cheap materials so you don't feel bad with your first few mistakes....Oh! and you tube is really good place to learn too
Try it my friends and you'll see how easy sewing is

Micky Blue Skies | 114 comments Lily, Thank you but please don't let my words fool you into believing I am a pro....lol. I am no Picaso or Frida Kahlo. I love to draw but I am not the best. I just want to be an artist soooo bad, whether it's drawing, sewing, crocheting or some other artistic means of creativity. My problem is jumping from one thing to the next, I need to stick to one or two and master them before moving on.

I started with my artwork again. Completed a pastel of a character from one of my favorite series. I plan to continue doing the characters. I have also gotten watercolor supplies, so I will work on that this week as well.

I tend to collect art supplies and then go through periods when I don't use them.

At Cricket, I don't have a lot of formal training, but I love to experiment with different techniques.

Kelvin Reed (kelvinlreed) | 44 comments I like watching old films on Turner Classic Movies. A few of my favorites are:

Mutiny on the Bounty
The Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Cape Fear
Cat People
Ben-Hur
And Then There Were None
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Anne of the Thousand Days
Creature From the Black Lagoon
Spartacus

Because my wife and I watch these movies, we often use idioms from them when we talk. When expressing her affection for me, she frequently says, "You're swell." LOL!

I also like hiking and urban exploration, getting into the nooks and crannies of cities and towns to find hidden historical gems. Cooking, brewing, and baking are also on the list but I think that's just considered "medieval adulting." LOL!
