How Did You Find Goodreads?

Found through Facebook; typically access from laptop.
My friend told me about it. It didn't took long till I got addicted ;)I mostly use PC to access it - I like big comfortable displays :) but I have it installed on my phone and I've even used it few times.
I saw it mentioned in various articles & discussion forums elsewhere on the 'net, and then discovered that there were people I actually knew who were already on the site. I access it from my computer, and from my smart phone (via browser, not app).
I found out about it when I was reading a blog that mentioned it. I checked it out and found that there was actually a massive community of readers and etc. I usually access it from the app and sometimes on the computer.
My fiance told me about it. He was searching for books like Fablehaven because we loved that series so much and somehow came across Goodreads. Funny thing is he wouldn't have found Fablehaven if he wasn't so nervous about proposing. I guess everything happens for a reason right? lol. Anyway, goodreads is great, wish I found out about it sooner, but better late than never!

I had a Facebook friend invite me to GR; sorry to say I didn't find it myself! I've always been an incessant reader, but in the past I have typically trolled Amazon or the bookstore for new ideas (or relied on recommendations). It would've made my life a lot easier if I'd discovered GR sooner. I think my husband was even using it, but for whatever reason he never mentioned it to me. I have an old school Kindle that I just mainly use for reading and I don't access my laptop daily, so I rely on the app for my phone. It's not the best for writing reviews and whatnot, but it works well enough until I have a better setup.
I found it while search for more fantasy books to read. Became more active after i got my Nook.

Well, while he was racking up the courage to propose, he actually came across Fablehaven. We were there for a good amount of time too so I guess it was a good thing he had the nerves otherwise we wouldn't have seen it lol.
It seemed like no one I knew ever read the books I was reading. I found goodreads when I was looking for discussions after finishing a book that no one I knew had read and I really wanted to see what others thought about it. Love the recommend function. I've found so many great books since.

I found Goodreads, by looking up a book synopsis.
Took me awhile to actually understand the place, and even longer to get into the groups.
I usually access via work (shock horror) or my laptop.
only rarely use my phone unless I really need to update something, I never use my phone for threads it just doesn't work well.

I just stumbled across GR after searching for "book reviews" on yahoo, I think it was. Really pleased to have a site to keep track of my reading on & love the recommendations too.
Found it before from searching for a book. Didn't add it right away, then immediately regretted it because it sounded like the perfect site to add new books to my new kindle. I couldn't remember the site name for the life of me, but then a friend invited me to it on Facebook. I was too excited to have it come across my attention so easily when I was thinking about it so much. :)

I found out about GR while reading a newspaper article. I always thought I was in a minority, being an adult who liked YA. Now it's great to find adults who like YA too. I told my wife about GR, and she joined because she loves medieval mysteries and found some groups to join.
I found good reads when I was searching for the James potter series. It brought up gr and I went on and played with it. I have it on my computer and my iPad. Usually I spend a couple hours on the site and then don't have time for it for quite some time. I joined 3 book clubs and really wish I had time to fully devote and participate in each one but I love reading thru the comments of each. Tonight I figured out how to scan the books into my book shelves.
I actually found it after reading Wendy Darling's review of The Selection on Amazon. I was intrigued by the controversy she mentioned and looked it up to learn more. I started looking around the site and found out I could get recommendations for more YA dystopians by joining and adding books to my shelf. SO glad I did. At least one good thing came from all that Selection hoopla.
Poor Wendy. It's a shame she had to deal with that crap, but at least she brought us Nancy! :D
I stumbled across it about a year ago whilst feeling frustrated about how to get recommendations of books and couldn't believe my luck. Have been hooked since.
I was browsing book sites compiling a to read list and I came upon an ad for GR! I'm glad I did but now I'm totally addicted!!
Huh. I can't really remember. I think I was searching a authors blurb, you know where they were born and the different types of books they had on google, than I came here. Cheers

I actually found and joined Goodreads (with another account) because a site that I reviewed for back then wanted the reviews posted on 10 different sites and it listed Goodreads as one of them. I ended up joining a lot of book sites back then but after I left that review site I forgot about most of them(including Goodreads). Then about 6-8 months later I was sick of having no one to discuss any of the books I read with and I remembered liking the look of Goodreads when I was originally on it so I figured I would give it a proper try. However, I tried to use my original account but I had forgotten the password and I no longer had the email account it was linked to so I made a new account and actually explored more of the features this time around. Needlessly to say, I have been absolutely hooked ever since.
I accidentally stumbled across Goodreads.I got bored, and was looking for a book-list site. After going through a few that wanted you to pay after listing a certain number of books, I found Goodreads and figured, "Eh, I'll give it a try."
I've lived here ever since.

I found GoodReads through a friend who use to live by me and we had an IRL book club. When she moved away and i had to return to work the club kind of fell apart and we tried to revive it here on line. It worked well for a while and then every one got busy, alas life is like that.But, I still LOVE it here and just recently i've branched out and looked for clubs on here to join! That's how i found you guys!
Majority of the time I use my computer, but if I am just doing a progress update, I will use my iPhone.
