I don't think he's Sammy. Maybe Aphrodite had something to do with it to mess with Hazel's mind? Not sure...

Well Leo's last name is Valdez and so is Sammy's. This is either a mere coincidence, or Leo's great grandfather or grandfather was Sammy Valdez. Either way its kinda easy to think about it.

If it isn't the obvious (That Leo is Sammy's great grandson), then I'm assuming something happened in the Underworld. Sammy could have died in at a younger age and was possibly pulled out like Hazel was. After all, didn't he, Piper, and Jason all appear out of nowhere?

Or a goddess could be messing with her like Katniss990 said. Another possibility would be that he was stuck somewhere like Nico was so he never aged. You know?

I guess well find out in 2012...

I haven't read this book yet, or met Sammy but this sound all very confusing...

I think hades let sammy escaped so hazel can have a friend from her time.
