Both books are good..

I think that some people (such as yourself) feel that the "Kane Chronicles" suck and the "Heroes of Olympus" are really good because they are more familiar with Greek gods and goddesses. Roman gods and goddesses would be next in familiarity then Egyptian. What you are more familiar with you're more comfortable with, and the more you enjoy.
I enjoy both series but I find that I can get more into Heroes than I can Kane because I am more familiar with the characters (ie gods and goddesses).

I know... they weren't terrible but I just couldn't get into them the same way as I could PJ and HoO.

Because Egyptian Mythology is not familiar to us. Its hard to remember the names/characters in the story.

Personally, I love both. Some people just find Greek mythology more interesting than Egyptian.
Then there's some of us who are a complete mess. We're mythology addicted. We don't care what kind it is, as long as it's mythology.Math? Forget that. Our brains are a giant jumbled mix of myths that we hope to someday be real.

I agree with what others have said. It's mainly cause the characters are brand new with a slightly different story that makes them to some people hard to adjust too. With Percy you know his experiences and his life so far. It's kind of like restarting... However, I actually liked the Kane Chronicles. A lot.

I understand your abhorrence, but I do not agree with it. You personally probably dislike the series because it is not familiar to you, and you do not know the characters as well as you do the other series. Unfamiliarity seems to coincide with hatred, which is actually how bigotry commences.

The Kane Chronicles don't suck, it's just that everyone was so used to Riordan writing Greek mythology and they wanted Greek, not Egyptian. But the writing is really good in the Kane Chronicles I actually think better than the newest Heroes of Olympus.

It doesn't suck..it's actually a really good series and I love it..I just think that the reason why people love the Percy Jackson and also The Heroes of Olympus series is because it's an action-packed adventure and it's the most known mythology while the Kane Chronicles is all about magic and mysteries..^____^

I have always enjoyed Greek mythology and ancient history. Couldn't get into Egyptian.

To me, the Greek gods and goddesses are more interesting.

The Kane Chronicals do NOT suck.

They don't suck, but the characters aren't as balanced as they are in the Heroes of Olympus series and it really hurts the overall series.

I like the Kane Chronicles. I like Percy Jackson series and Heroes of Olympus more, but I still really do like the Kane Chronicles.

okay i'll admit the PJatO and HoO series are better but that doesn't mean that TKC was terrible! I really like TKC cuz i could relate to the characters! so why were somethings bad? hes a writer working on multiple books guys, he's not perfect.

I actually like Kane a lot better than heroes. I couldn't finish the second book of heroes but I loved both in Kane.

If you don't know your Egyptian Mythology than yes you wouldn't like it. I used to study it for fun when I was younger so thought it was a decent read not as good as the Percy Jackson series though.
I do enjoy Percy's smart remarks and sense of humor.

They don't suck. They're just a little Egyptian. They're awesome if you know your Egyptian gods.
