Fever??? book series???"

Really? Because I read the first book in the series recently and found it...well, not as good as others. So many people having been raving about it and I think it won a good reads award, but either I was a bit of a grump when I read it (which, let's face it, isn't unlikely) or the series gets much better as time goes on. I decided to get all of the books on my kindle initially as I thought, 'so many people can't be wrong' but if I didn't like the first installment, should I read the rest?

Again I'm having issues...
I bought this book and got maybe a quater of the way in but found myself unengaged which is quite strange for me - I read everything! (No matter how truely awful).
I'm especially disappointed as I'd been wanting to read it for at least half a year and I've only just bought it for christmas. Should I give it another shot? Are there any main reasons that I will forever love it (and I don't mind being told spoilers if that helps).

I found River Marked to be one of the weaker Mercy books, but the previous ones where enjoyable

Catlin, I thought Magic Bites and the all the other books have been great - don't want to give spoilers, but the storyline of Kate's parentage, her "unconventional" romance with Curran, and the situations/cases she works on, all are what I thought gave the series a different twist than others out there. Hopefully you will be able to give the book another chance?

As for Mercy, River Marked was different - I believe it is taking the series in a new direction. In order for Mercy to learn more about herself and advance in life River Marked needed to happen. I also felt like Mercy and Adam needed to find themselves as a couple - without the pack. But oh how I missed them in this book. :)
Happy Reading. :)

I'm a romance book reader - so I like when couples are together and have happy endings... I just can't figure out if I'm gonna be disappointed or end up loving this series... maybe I need to wait till its over before I start it...

Is that really how you read that book? To me it felt like she was responding to critique about the fact that she has a native protagonist in name only. It read like one big wikipedia article.

It has been a while since I have ordered from them, but when u create ur account, you use to get a book free. Just a thought, if you wanna check it out. Happy reading.

Ooo that's kind of awesome. Thanks for the link!!

Here's the passage:
“One more month," he said finally. "And then they—and Samuel, too—will just have to get used to it. His eye is the color of a bitch with dark chocolate, worst few years and he leaned forward. "And you will marry me."
I smiled, showing my teeth. "Don't you mean, ‘will you marry me?’"
I meant it to be funny, but his eyes brightened until the gold flecks were swimming in the darkness. "You had your chance to run, coyote. It's too late now.”

Where does it say that? The title I see is
"QUESTION ABOUT MERCY AND ADAM (for those who have read the books) "
I see that as implying there may be spoilers. Even though the OP asked for no spoilers, it was posted 3 years ago.

Very true Becky. There are a lot of books on my TBR list. And I am way behind on the the recently released books. I try to avoid any threads that discuss any of the books or series I have not read or caught up on. I have to admit, my comment was mostly because I got my feathers a bit ruffled by the way Alexandra addressed the situation. I did not handle it well at all.
And I don't think a lot of posters intentionally post spoilers. I think we follow some threads for a long time and get invested in them and forget to go back and read the original posting. Maybe read the title when replying to a post.

Thank you April for the information I finally finished reading them all. I just love this series and Mercy is one of my all time favorite female heroines.

No worries, Michelle. : ) I completely understand. I stay away from discussions if I haven't read the book, too. It works most of the time, but every once in awhile someone refers to a future book in a series. This happened to me recently and I hadn't finished the next installment.
Little things don't bother me too much, but in this particular case (not this thread, it was another series altogether) the poster was trying to prove a point about book "A" and gave a complete rundown of book "B." Essentially she gave away the entire story. I was at 40% at the time and finished it knowing what the end result would be, just not exactly how the characters got there. I could've screamed. It's like saying "Joe did it!" in the middle of a murder mystery! Makes me batty.
Adoore...so glad you enjoyed them! I just love the world Ms. Briggs has created and downloaded:

I can't wait to start reading!

Where's the outrage on the older posts right above mine talking about them getting married and trying to remember the proposal? What I posted was more of a teaser. That's not even a key point. All you have to do is read the blurbs on the back of the books or even the descriptions and you know they get married.

No problem. I just started the series earlier in the year, and recently just finished Frost Burn so most of the big parts are still fresh in my mind.

Posting a large block of text from a book is the epitome of a spoiler. It's very, very easy to put the spoiler tags around it and therefore avoid any ruffled feathers. It works like this (take out the asterisks):
<*spoiler*>John did it! <*/spoiler*>
In doing so, those who don't want to see the info have a CHOICE about clicking on the link. We only see this:
(view spoiler)
Editing a post is pretty simple too. As Michielle said, most spoilers are unintentional, or it dawns on the poster after the fact. It's easily remedied.

The Edge series is not a spin off from the Kate series. It's not even in the same world....

At the beginning there is a type of love triangle, but that only lasts a few books. It's actually not a bad love triangle either. It adds to the story, gives it a little something.
But, I mean, if you read the backs of the books you know who she chooses, so that is a spoiler in of itself. Not a big one, but still. lol.
Adam and Mercy have a great relationship. It's the kind that everybody wants.
(P.S: I started off with Alpha and Omega and loved it. I started Mercy because of how much I did.)

What are your favorite series? I am in the middle of Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson. I keep hearing about Fever. Does Fever have love triangles? I am not a fan of love triangles. Would love your suggestions for other series.

I have heard a lot about Jane Yellowrock. I have Cleansweep on my list. Right now I am trying to figure out if Mercy Thompson gets to stop aging because she is mated to a werewolf. I would hope so.
