Cathy Galloway | 700 comments Hi Lacy! I am about 1/3 of the way through and loving it so far. She is keeping the suspense ramped up between the ghost and the jerk that took over for Don. There is definitely something going on there. I'm glad her mom's out of it but I feel terrible for Tate. He gets the shaft in every book!

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments I just started and I am already sucked back in. I have only read a few pages, but plan to get further in by tonight. I'll post something before bed.

Just to double check...is Tate the one who has always had the hots for her? Sorry it has been awhile. If it is, I always feel bad for him. It sucks to care for someone and not only are the feelings not returned, but you have to see their face all of the time. I can't even imagine.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments Yeah, that's Tate. Poor guy!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I didn't get that Tate vibe at all. Interested, but not really chasing if you know what I mean.

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments Really, Photojim!? I thought he seemed really gone over her in the earlier books. And it's nice to have you join us!

You are right though Cathy, he is definately getting screwed in this one.

Jason is a good jerk character and Kramer is creepy. I do have to say that I totally adore Tyler's character. He is who he is and you can take it or leave it. I love it!

I can't wait to see what crazy stuff Mrs. Frost comes up with to solve these problems.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments I love Tyler too! I especially like that they can read his thoughts so there's no filter.

I'm still wondering what Madigan is up to, and Don is pissing me off with his secrets.

I like the way Spade and Denise are involved in this story too. I thought they might disappear now that they had their own story. No sign of Vlad though. I hear he is the subject of her next book.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments How far have you read? I'm afraid I'll say something that will spoil the plot for you. I'm at chapter 28.

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments I'm on chapter 23, but don't worry about me. I don't mind knowing some stuff ahead of time! It doesn't ruin the story for me.

Tyler's thoughts are so funny. He is the story's comic relief!

I keep trying to figure out what Madigan is up too. None of my ideas seem very plausible.

I'm glad that Spade and Denise are in the story as well. I need to read their book. Have you read it yet?

I miss Vlad, I was just wondering where he was. I hope he is a center of the next book. He is a great character.

The plot of this book is so riveting, but I don't see an easy solution to Kramer. I'm very curious to find out how it is dealt with.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments I think somehow they'll have to deal with Kramer while he's solid. Apparently, the fear he creates entitles him to spend more time that way.

I have read Spade and Denise's story. I really liked it. But then, I've liked all of Jeaniene's work. Mencheres also has a book. That one was tougher to get into because I didn't really like him in the book where his wife is the villainess. But I ended up liking him in the end.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments Looks like this is Vlad's book: Once Burned

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) I feel like Tate acts like a spoiled brat about half the time, and he could make himself somewhat scarce if he`d give it a try,he`s my least fav character in this series that I love

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments Okay, I just finished it. I really liked it and could not put it down. I am giving it 5 stars, I almost lowered it to four, but I figured the one complaint I had wasn't worth a whole star! I'll wait until you finish it to say more.

Kathy Anne, I didn't agree with you at the beginning of the series. At first I really liked Tate and felt bad for him. But you are right, it got old. I wanted to yell at him. Grow up! Grow a pair and get over it. It was nice that he wasn't in this story much.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments I am almost done. I totally knew Sarah was the accomplice and I was sooooo glad that Bones finally figured it out even if Cat didn't.

I'll probably finish it in the next hour (after I get off of work) and then I'll be able to rate it.

I still feel badly for Tate even when he needed to give it a rest. How hard would it be, having to continue working with and seeing Cat all the time.

Lacy (lacy_stewart) | 1966 comments You did? I was totally shocked about Sarah! I thought that was a good twist.

Ian was a blast in this one as always!

Enjoy the ending (my one complaint) and I will talk to you soon.

Cathy Galloway | 700 comments Okay, done! Not my favorite of the series but I loved it all the same.

Overall, I really liked the book but I was disappointed we didn't actually "see" Kramer trapped in the end. I felt like the ending was kind of weak.

And Ian....yeah, just have to laugh. He's such a pig!

This is the first buddy read I've done where we didn't finish the book before we discussed. It was a lot of fun! Thanks for waiting for me!

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Lacy
Your description of Tate is perfect,he was OK the first few times but he got boring quick and he had plenty of chances to go elsewhere(which I feel most people would do)
Now all I see is a boring kid with nothing better to do ,and he adds nothing to the story. She is one of my top 5 favs and I`m really suprised at her writing this character.

That was my one complaint...all the hype about "the trap" and then she doesn't share it with us. I wanted to know how they did it! I feel robbed! Just kidding. I still loved it.

I had fun too. I enjoy buddy reads. Any time you want company reading a book just let me know.

Yeah, I think the author has robbed him of a lot of his pride. He is a likeable character. I would really like her to have him find closure soon, move on and just be friends with his master and ex coworker. Give him his pride back Jeaniene!!!
