message 103: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Patti was talking about a golden shower, which isn't a part of the bathroom furniture and then you were talking about bubbles in the golden background.... it was too much for me

message 104: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Lol... still don't get it... don't people have golden showers and golden bathtubs ?

message 105: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh I am PMSL!!!!!!!

Which is rather fitting, really...

Just giving up... maybe I'll just wait until I have some kind of epiphany about it all...

Mhairi Simpson (mhairisimpson) | 1158 comments HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh wow, this whole series of posts is just fantastic. Lorraine, "a golden shower" is where someone does what you would usually do in a toilet over someone else. It's a bedroom thing, not a bathroom thing.

message 108: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments AAAAHAHHHH ! Now I've just had to double check with hubby and then when he saw me crying with laughter I had to explain to him how I made a total idiot of myself lol !

Oh I love a good laugh HAHAHAHA Smiley

off to grab some tissues now.. I can't even see the screen properly lol !

message 109: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Hmmmm. Thinking if I should run the mop over this thread before Simon gets in from the pub...

Naw. He can throw down towels.

message 110: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments AHAHAHAHA!!! Lorraine! I didnt think you were getting it but I didnt want to say anything... Learn something new everyday eh?

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Oh god, I just nip off for the pub quiz for a couple of hours......

That'll teach you to neglect your duties!

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments I am SO going to have to find a new husband !

Been at it for like 2 hours, and he's done half of one chair (that he's built the wrong way round by the way), and he's only started the second one !!!

message 116: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Want a job done properly Lorraine you better do it yourself

message 117: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Nah... I have an aversion to instructions... I could end up building a doghouse instead of a table and chairs to be honest...

Would you believe it? He's just lost the allen key ! Sorry I can't stop laughing !

Sorry, Lorraine but that's too funny!

When Dave puts things together I stand over him, reading the instructions. I find it helps

message 119: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments ahahaha

Poor Mr Lorraine...

message 120: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Lol

Patti, should have seen us yesterday going to exeter ! We had to go down to junction 30 and then go back up to come out at junction 29, because junction 29 on the way down is closed... hubby was driving, I was reading the map, giving him the direction, but I was still telling him the instructions if we'd come out junction 29 on the way down ! He wasn't too happy !

I swear it, there's something on the subconscious level... forms, directions, instructions, I just can't help it !

message 121: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments I admit freely that I can't make head or tale of maps, and as for flat packs.....well lets put it this way: everything I buy is already assembled!!!!

message 122: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Chair number 3 is finished ! We've got one chair ! Little dance !

message 123: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I can do maps so long as i have time to orientate myself before we start moving or needing directions.

I've never tried flat pack but why would I when I have a man to do it for me

message 124: by Mhairi (new)

Mhairi Simpson (mhairisimpson) | 1158 comments I love flatpack. But then I also liked Lego as a kid, and flatpack furniture is just bigger and, let's face it, more useful. On the downside, you can't make horses out of it unless it was supposed to be horses...

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Houston... Houston... WE HAVE A TABLE !!

But still two chairs lol... seems like the wholes are not very straight, and that's why hubby's been struggling a bit...

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments This thread was just what I needed after a trying day.
Mascara is running again.
I love building furniture and can read maps as well as long as I put them upside down first.

message 129: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Sarah, you need to invest in a better mascara !

Oh Lori! Do you know of a good water roof Mascara? One you can swim in?

(Okay, so that sounded a bit strange!)

message 131: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I have to turn maps, too. Tell me to go north and I'll climb a tree.

A friend back home gave me one of his old mobiles that has a built in sat nav. Best thing I've ever owned. I can even set for walking rather than driving.

message 134: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Lol... actually no, I don't ! I don't use waterproof mascara, so I wouldn't be able to direct you to a good make sadly, sorry !

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Update... we have one table and two chairs. They held the weight, and we had a proper meal at the table last night. Am a happy lady. Ollie will just have to sit on the floor for now.

message 136: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments and poor Ollie having to sit on the floor! so much for civilised society!!

Jan Hurst-Nicholson (janhurst-nicholson) | 347 comments I see that you sometimes have a quiz with a book as a prize. I'd be happy to donate a paperback of
Something to Read on the Plane
Something to Read on the Plane by Jan Hurst-Nicholson

or a paperback of Leon Chameleon P.I. and the Case of the Kidnapped Mouse
Leon Chameleon P.I. and the Case of the Kidnapped Mouse by Jan Hurst-Nicholson

or do you just want Kindle books?

message 148: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I've been doing my part, Lorraine. I've put all my holiday shopping through the store. Hopefully we'll get enough for at least one quiz prize...
