Here you can plan and ultimately cross of your tasks completed.

Each book is linked to the previous book by a specific “thing”

In theory you could start the challenge reading Pride and Prejudice and finish it reading Hitchhikers Guide the Galaxy it all depends on where your books lead you!

For this challenge it doesn't need to be read consecutively to count. However points can only count and be giving in the points threads once your tasks link up. Example:

If you read nr 1, then 4, then 3 and then 2. Only once you finish nr 2 can you claim 4 points, because they only then link up.

This is how it works

1) Read any book you like.
2) The Author of the second book should have the same name as the main character in the first
3) The third book should be set in the same location/ city/state as the second
4) The main character in the forth book should have the same name as the author of the third
5) The main character of the fifth book should have a similar profession as the main character in the forth book.
6) The main character in the 6th book must have the same hair colour as the main character in the 5th
7) One of the words in the 7th books title must be the same as one of the words in the 6th books title.
8) The 8th books cover must be the same predominant colour are the 7th books cover
9) The ninth book must have been nominated for or won the same award as the 8th book (remember this will take advanced planning because book 8 will have to be a specific colour and an award nominee)
10) Book 10 must have been written in the same year as book 9
11) Book 11 must be the same genre as book 10
12) The tile of the 12th book must start with the same letter as the title of the 11th book
13) The main characters name in book 13 must be the same as a minor characters in book 12
14) Some pictorial element on the cover of book 14 must be the same as a picture on book 13
15) If book 14 is part of a series book 15 must be part of a series if it is a standalone 15 must be a standalone etc.
16) The main character in book 16 must be in the same age group as the main character in book 15 e.g. Teens, 20’s 30’s
17) The main character in book 17 must use the same mode of transport as the main character in book 16 e.g. bicycle, bus, car
18) The main character must have a similar skill or talent as the main character from book 17 e.g. fighting, magic, sewing
19) Book 19 must be set in the same time period/ era as book 18
20) Book 20 should have a similar rating as book 19 (e.g 19’s rating 3.81 20’s rating 3.86 )
21) Book 21 must have the same number of pages as book 20 (within 20 pages)
22) The main character in book 20 must have a similar family situation as the main character in book 21 e.g. orphan, only child etc.
23) The author of book 23 must have written a recommendation on the cover or back of book 22 OR choose a book from the section Reader Also Enjoyed that pops up when you are reading about the previous book on goodreads
24) The cover of book 24 must be predominantly the colour that the title of book 23 is written in
25) The amount of words in the title of 25 must be the same amount of words in 24's title

Have fun :)

Just to clear something up:

For this challenge it doesn't need to be read consecutively to count. However points can only count and be giving in the points threads once your tasks link up. Example:

If you read nr 1, then 4, then 3 and then 2. Only once you finish nr 2 can you claim 4 points, because they only then link up.

If that made sense :)

Can a few people just post to say they understand!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
Hey guys I got stuck on 23 probably because I read ebooks which have no recomendations on the covers. As an alternative can I suggest that instead we should choose a book from the section Reader Also Enjoyed that pops up when you are reading about the previous book on good reads? If this makes sense and you agree please let me know. Thanks

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
Oh also, if the villan challange is too hard lets think of an alternative. Im open to suggestions. But asides from the challenges mentioned above this has actually been suprisingly easy to organise :D

I was fine with author recommendations, so I'll keep that if nobody minds?

But I agree with the villain!

Maybe 25) The amount of words in the title of 25 must be the same amount of words in 24's title?

message 18: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith For the author recommendations, couldn't we just use either one (cover or Goodreads?). If there's nothing on the cover there will certainly be something on Goodreads.

Agree with the villain thing. The last book I read didn't have a villain. The only person who came close was a woman named Solara, which isn't exactly a common name.

I'm fine with Lu's suggestion :)

What I did is go through books on goodreads I wanted to read and looked at their cover. On it I found a recommendation :)

Lauren Smith Lol, that's going to take me way too long! Plus there are often recommendations on the back cover which isn't pictured on Goodreads.

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I like the idea of changing villain into number of words in title. Villains in general tend to have strange rare names, at least in the books I read.

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
I like the idea of using either a goodreads or a cover recommendation. And I agree completely the villain idea should be changed to number of words. Not only do all books not have villains but its often a serious spoiler to find out who the villain is before reading the book! The question is do we vote on the change? Or can we just go ahead?

Click on any book and on the right hand side of the page below the genres list goodreads shows you a few books that people who have read the book you are looking at have also read. They are usually a similar theme or genre.
The heading says Readers Also Enjoyed
