What do you think of the Twilight Haters group?

Now, I haven't read the books to her or allowed to her to see the movies or have any magazines displayed. The only think I can think of is that she's watched the previews on tv!
Amelia*annabeth&percy*sittin in a tree* wrote: "what do you mean, how old is my brother?"
No, I mean Percy grew up in the series and he was a couple different ages, starting at twelve, so if she wants your brother to be like a twelve year old character... You get what I mean?

*shrugs* To me, it doesn't exist. What's the use of love at first sight if you're going to be shot down?

I believe it does exist and that it is indeed, not a fairytale. My example was not the romantic variety of love at first sight but I've got to say, that being old enough to be a parent the first time the Dr put my baby in my arms I was hooked, so in love with my girl. She was the most beautiful baby I'd ever seen and my husband would take her out of my arms because I wouldn't sleep if I held her because I'd just stare at her for hours...She was my whole world and putting my fingertip in her little hand was so wonderful and I'd touch her little nose. I'm still in love with my daughter, I still watch her when she's napping and I think it will never go away, she's five now.
If a mother can fall in love with her kids at first sight, why can't a man & woman do the same thing? Believe me, it is possible.

*makes a nasty face*, angels, all of it. Life hasn't been fair or kind in my 13 years of living, and you know you're bitter when you look into the sky and yell, "See what you've done to me and my family!? Are you happy now, you freak!?"

That is sooo cute!!
That is sooo cute!!

Here’s some loopholes:
The book never said that Edward had venom glands. All it said was that the poison was glistening on his teeth, and that in order to change in to a vampire, the poison had to enter the circulatory system. So right when Edward kisses Bella, shouldn’t she be changed right from that scene??
In New Moon, Jacob turns into a werewolf. But there’s already a pack of other werewolves that involuntarily transmit every one of their thoughts to each other. But the pack forbids Jacob to visit Bella on account of if he looses his temper, he’ll maul her. So he goes to visit her anyway, and trying not to think about her. Keep in mind he’s in human form. But later in the whole series, Jacob has to turn into a werewolf for his thoughts to be transmitted. But, why should he have to turn in to a werewolf for them to be transmitted, when they could be transmitted just fine in human form before??
In New Moon, Jasper goes absolutely ballistic on Bella when she gets a paper cut. But when he goes to highschool with a bunch of highschool girls getting their periods, how come he doesn’t react then?
Don’t get me started on how unfeminist these books are.
Every single guy in there knows ‘what’s best’ for Bella. Her dad knows what’s best for her, and that’s ok because that’s what dads do. But what about Emmett? Edward? Jacob too? What about Jacobs friends? How about his Dad?? And when Edward forbids Bella to see Jacob, that is a form of ABUSE people. Not physical, but phycological, domestic ABUSE. Not love, but ABUSE.
All the guys get the cool gifts, like reading people’s minds and influencing people’s emotions. But only some of the girls get gifts, but lame ones like seeing into the future, but wait! Their gifts aren’t even reliable, and only work some of the time. Even their gifts are crippled!
Bella’s mom is portrayed as a ditz who needs to be taken care of. Great female role model out there Meyer.
Why is Esme in the books? Becuase Carisle needs a mate. That is her only function.
Why is Rosalie in there? Because she needs to represent how bitchy vampires can be.
Even Alice, arguably the strongest of the female characters, does little more than obsess over makeup and clothes.
Bella is not a portrayal of a ‘strong female character’. Left to her own devices, I think she would rather make out with Edward for eternity. That’s basically all she does besides fall down stairs left and right. What sort of good thing does she do in the books for other people? She only saves Edward in New Moon because she is an anti-feminist slut who tried to make several attempts in the books to rape poor Edward. Any other sensible girl would have let a person who trampled all over their feelings die and be glad about it. And when she does save Edward, she goes right back to him in five seconds. A girl just doesn’t let a guy who beat her up like that let him go right back to her. All she does is want to suck face with Edward for forever, but doesn’t want to marry him for no good reason? Loser.
And, not only that, In Breaking Dawn, she finnally marries Edward at only 18 years old and glorifies teen marrige, asying its the best thing and it’ll be like a basket of roses. Not only that, but she also gets pregnant with Edward and gets a mutant fetus in her only 2 weeks into her teen marrige. Again, she just loves the kid, even though it sucks her blood right out of her while she’s still pregnant, also saying its such a wonderful thing because its Edwards kid. Again, if you only had this book to go on, you’d think teen marrige and pregnancy with a half-human half-vampire fetus is a wonderful and magical thing. But it doesn’t stop there! The kid actually beats her up while its inside of her! It evidently is strong becuase its a half-vampire. So it breaks roughly 6 ribs, a hip, and-….a shoulder?? How can a fetus break its mother’s shoulder?? Its not like it propelled Bella into a wall or anything, so how could it break a shoulder? Wouldn’t her lungs get in the way? But it still doesn’t end there people! The fetus was actually supposed to chew its way out of Bella instead of traditional birth. And Bella’s happy about that. HAPPY about a MUTANT stuck inside her AND THAT’S GOING TO CHEW THROUGH HER STOMACH AND UTERUS because the kid is *gasp!* Edwards child? So she’s happy about all of this beause its Edwards child? And why does Bella like Edward so much? Becase of his beauty. Not for his musical ability, not for his artistic talent, love for her, or intelligence. Sure that adds up, but all she goes on about is his beauty.
Take that twi-tards.

Dear you know what? it seems like if you did read the saga, which is weird because after more than 2000 pages you did'net get the whole point. All these things that you just say may the story entertained, the mistakes of the caracters make the trama what it is, nobody wants to read about people making "right desicions" we want that they fix their UNREAL and UNNATURAL issues.
Feminism? maybe the men wants to tell Bella wat to do, but she never listen!!!!!!!!!! please tell me at least you are 18, I'm tired to fight with 12 years old girls with their EMO problems about how wrong is the world just beacues the hormones are not in a good day

My only real question to you is "why do you even think that we would care what you have to say?" The point is that we love the series. You would think the name of our group would be enough to let you know that!! Nothing you can possibly say will change our minds!"

yay stephanie! thats why you're the MOD! :D and what a swell mod you are! keeping us Twilight fans safe from all the haters who go bump in the night
Runo wrote: "...So right when Edward kisses Bella, shouldn’t she be changed right from that scene?"
One, the books did mention that venom was circulating through their systems. Who ever said anything about "glands"? We didn't. Two, in the books it mentioned that their was venom on their teeth, yes. However, it was also mentioned that it can only be given to a human through their blood stream. Which basically means that a vampire has to physically cut through the skin to get to the blood. So, no. It is not transported when they kiss.
Runo wrote: "In New Moon, Jacob turns into a werewolf..."
Yeah, no. You have that entirely incorrect there. The wolves never transmitted thoughts in human form, not in New Moon, not in any book.
Runo wrote: "But when he goes to highschool with a bunch of highschool girls getting their periods, how come he doesn’t react then?"
Had you done any research, you might have learned that the blood from menstruation is different from blood straight from the tap, if you catch my drift. Besides, common sense tells the reader that Jasper's attack was a one-time loss of control. Jazz didn't just pounce on girls regularly. ;)
Runo wrote: "Every single guy in there knows ‘what’s best’ for Bella...."
By that definition, millions of guys in the world are "abusive."
Runo wrote: "Don’t get me started on how unfeminist these books are."
I'm guessing you don't actually know what the term "feminism" means, do you? Let me educate you, feminism means: "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes". Which means, in case you don't understand, that females in general should be equal to men in society. Not that every individual female needs to be special, they just need to have the same rights. In which case, the books are the very definition of feminism. Women should be aloud to be as stupid or as sucky as men are and not be treated any differently as a gender. And Stephenie Meyer, as a woman, should be aloud to write sucky books, just like men! Yay!
Runo wrote: "Great female role model out there Meyer."
Runo wrote: "Bella is not a portrayal of a ‘strong female character’."
So, what? Not every single character in the book you read has to be "strong" or a "role model". Some characters are just characters, with flaws, and mannerisms that stink. If you were looking for a heroes in a teen vampire romances, you probably wouldn't have gotten too far in life in the first place.

So, what? As said, anyone who looks for value and
meaning in vamp-lit pretty much gets what they pay for. These books are just for entertainment, they aren't meant to bestow positive influences on the youth of the world. Want a book with good influences and positive meaning? Go check out Barney Says Please & Thank You.

If you look at it, we're all pretty much the same except for Twilight.
Speaking of which, Twilight lovers and haters alike might enjoy Nightlight, a parody!
Lol, Vivi.
