Morgan The book "Crescendo" has started off very well. I really like the plot and how well it continued from the first book. Though it has been awhile since I read "Hush,Hush", the first book in the series. I do have some dislikes though. The prologue seemed a bit odd to me. I felt it really confused me to read the passage about a man who I am assuming is her father, getting killed. I don't recall her father dying in the first book. But again my memory is vague and it has been awhile. Other than that I think the book is really good and it lives up to "Hush,Hush" very well.

Valerie I agree. I think the plot is pretty sweet!!!!!!!!
But there isn't as much of Patch...

Layla I really REALLY loved Hush Hush; I read it over and over and looked forward to Crescendo. However, I have to say plainly, I hated it. I wrote a short quick review of why in particular I disliked Crescendo (because it's a little harder for me to really write about a book I dislike). But I think I'm giving up on this series. There were too many things I didn't like about this book.

I gotta agree. Hush, Hush was okayish. Not the best and really didn't make any sense at times but Crescendo was a book a whiney pathetic teenage girl. I already got that in the Twilight series, I don't need it again.

you're so right! maybe that's why I didn't like it: because I was already tired of Twilight.. x]

Sandy I don't know if my tastes have changed between reading Hush, Hush and Crescendo but I remember loving the first book and then I read this book and it was a pain to get through. Nora was whiney, Patch was secretive and a jerk (even more so than the first book) and when the climax came I was confused and it ended in a cliffhanger that just irritated me cause now I feel compelled to read the next book.

Debbie-marie REALY?????? I thought this book was awesome! (And thats rare because Im extremely picky about the way some authors write). At some poionts, I would rate it higher than the first one, though both were amazing. I see how'd you think Nora is annoying (because at some places she was) and id see how you think Patch is a jerk (because in some places he is),however, I thought the book over all was very memorable :)

Temple Rose Not as good as the first i had trouble cosintrating on reading this one.

Jazz I actually found this book to be much more entertaining than Hush, Hush. Hush, Hush was good, but the plot was too reminisicent of Twilight for me. Not only that, but it took me awhile to finally sit down because the beginning is a bit of a pain to get through. In turn, Crescendo had its own plot and was addictive. I read it in three days.

S.L.J. All the characters are reminisicent of Twilight. That's the problem. Twilight had about 3/4 good characters in it imo. Charlie, Leah, Seth and Jacob until BD. All the others were 2D in the worst way possible.

They had no other real intrests other than each other, no real hobbies, no real quirks other than the sterotypical ones like Alice being the spunky superficial girl, Rose being the cold beautiful one etc. They are supposed to have hidden depth but it was all pretty predictible. It doesn't take Freud to figure out why these characters are the way they are. Crescendo is no different.

A 'normal' girl that gets a all the attention and freakin' angel to fall in love with her still manages to complain about everything!

"Oh God, I've got not one but two incredible beautiful and powerful guys that want me...why is life sooooo cruel?!"

Sorry, I think that might have been a quote from a Twilight spoof. :/

Mandy This book was more confusing than the first, that's for sure. In Hush, Hush already everyone tried to kill Nora, but in this book things get worse. Loose plot ends hanging out all over the place. Becca F. *had* to keep notes to the sides because I couldn't make any sense the further the book went. It was like she thought up things as she went along, thinking they'd be nice to add, even though they had nothing to do with it.

And what is up with the fallen angels building a freaking theme park? Enlighten me, please!

I agree on the theme park ha ha! She does kind of go off track here and there and i have no idea what made her go to Scotty the potty's house to find "clues" but I thought it was pretty amusing when she asked him to the summer solstice dance by calling him a wiener. And Scotty the potty's mom only made it better! I guess there were a few rough spots here and there but I still can't wait till the next one comes out!

*Book Euphoria * I loved this book, yes it did get frustrating sometimes, but I liked more than hush hush, Patch was kind of a jeck but I felt I was reading this book to hear more about him. Oh and I really hated Patch being with Marcie. I know he didn't really care about her but still, I love this book :)

Mandy Patch was a big, fat *sshole for being with Marcie. If he cared even the least about Nora he wouldn't have dated her *enemy* of all people!!!

I still think these books are so badly written, they actually become fun again :)

Ina I really liked Crescendo. I thought it was a good book. I kind of forgot what happened in Hush Hush so when I read Crescendo I was kind of confused. And yeah, I do remember Nora's father being dead in Hush Hush. I also really like that their is a lot of questions that Nora needs to be answered. Especially him being with Marcie. It made me angry but when I found out they didn't even love each other I was happy. I also liked the Hush Hush series because Vee reminds me of someone I know & I really love her personality! It makes me smile (:

Ell I loved Hush Hush which made me a little disapointed with Crescendo. It was still exiting and really good.i just like the first book better.

Ellie I thought Hush, Hush was really good. I was really disappointed with Crescendo, though. It made Nora seem whiny and vulnerable, which is NOT the vibe I got from her in the first book. It just seemed like all her independence and sanity came crashing down because she went boy crazy. Don't get me wrong, I love Patch, but I DIDN'T like this book. However, I decided to give Silence a try and I LOVED it. Not as good as Hush, Hush, but much, MUCH better than Crescendo - I'd give it a try if you haven't read it yet.

Lucy Crescendo is really good.
But I don't have that "OMG, I'm obsessed with this book!" feeling that i felt when i read Hush, hush the first time.

message 19: by Ayla (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ayla Hush, Hush was better then Crescendo, but i like Silence best. if you hated Crescendo, i still suggest you to read Silence

Azhia This book was awesome just like the previous one i have no idea what your talking about. Im gonna start Silence right now (: I just wish there was more Patch in this book & i must admit Nora really pissed me off

Juliet book lover wrote: "This book was awesome just like the previous one i have no idea what your talking about. Im gonna start Silence right now (: I just wish there was more Patch in this book & i must admit Nora really..."

Completely agree.

Juliet Spoilers
I really loved Hush Hush, but I didn't love Crescendo as much. It was still great though. I think I hated most that Patch wasn't in it a lot so it focused on Nora, whom I absolutely detest. I also hated the whole Patch/Marcie deal. I know you find out why there together at the end of the book, but it bothered me throughout the whole book. I loved when Patch punched Scott in the face because I really didn't like him and it showed that Patch sill loved Nora. *sigh* Oh I also love Silence, just as awesome as the first.

message 23: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah its very frustrating just like Silence (Hush, Hush, #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick the next book is

Bulma Books Crescendo had its good moments but sadly the majority of the time I just had the urge to slap Nora...stupid girl she is sometimes!

Courtney Bulma wrote: "Crescendo had its good moments but sadly the majority of the time I just had the urge to slap Nora...stupid girl she is sometimes!"

I agree. She did deserve a slap sometimes because she was just so stupid, also at times I wondered why Patch even puts up with her!!.. Anyway the book was good but in the beginning i had a hard time getting through, I almost put it down but I knew that it would get better knowing Becca Fitzpatrick is a good author.

it only saiid that her dad had died a year ago. and it only tells a little about the way, s even though i was slitly confused by the prologe as i kept reading it made it much more easier to understand. i actully thought that the book did a good job i really enjoyed reading it and am still dieing to get silence from the library im on the waiting list im in 9th place. its KILLING me. i need to know what happens next.

Arushi after reading all three that are out now... id have to say crescendo, hush hush, silence.
and its not even an easy decision. i still love silence to death, almost as much as crescendo or hush hush. its just that the first book, like many first books was very ... informative. the second book, like most second books has that big breakup, end with a cliffhanger. and the 3rd is something new altogether. action, suspense, romance...i dont want to spoil anything if you havent read it, but its really good :D
though i can't disagree that nora is pretty dumb sometimes, i loooooove patch and he so makes up for it :)

He sure does~ :)

Erika Crescendo is better than Hush, Hush. I thought there was much more unexpected things also it has a much better end. I agree you want to hit Nora on many occasions but what teenager does not behave irrationally from time to time?

Cindy of course, they are all good.

Lauraleigh Erika wrote: "Crescendo is better than Hush, Hush. I thought there was much more unexpected things also it has a much better end. I agree you want to hit Nora on many occasions but what teenager does not behave ..."

I totally agree with you but nora in the books everytime something happens and any normal person would run from or not do she has a tendancy to run head first into danger then gets all angry and iffy about it, i think shes pretty annoying, and in silence i just want to throttle her

Erika The big question is what Patch sees in Nora?? She is so irritatingin Crescendo!!!

Lauraleigh exactly, in every book i read with a supernatural kind of theme the girl is always the one portrayed at the clingy needy annoying jealous type who thinks that the guy belongs to them the moment they first set eyes on them its really annoying, id love to read a good book where the guys were falling at the womens feet and the women thought with their brains instead of being bimbos

I'm only onto Silence so I haven't finnished yet.
But most of the time I'm angry at Nora! She doen't understand what Patch goes through to be with her SO SHE COMPLAINES! She's a great character and I LOVE the books but, come on Nora. UNDERSTAND! GET A CLUE. BE SUPPORTIVE!

yeah i was annoyed that she could understand anything but its not really her fault. i still loved the book and its a toss-up which is my favorite in the series, but sometimes i want to just be like patch is jev or something!

i love patch though so he makes up for it <3

karlipagemaster I think it was just as good as the first one. Same goes for Silence.
