message 2: by Donna (new)

Donna (missdonna00) | 32 comments I still don't like Devlen for marrying Opal in Spy Glass :P I still see him as the villain of the book (I have a very closed mind) haha :P

*TheWrittenWord*Mo (thewrittenwordmo) | 76 comments hate him, dislike him and he's just ... ugh!

message 4: by Donna (new)

Donna (missdonna00) | 32 comments Ok, that makes me feel normal again :P because I thought I was the only person who HATEED DEVLEN :P

*TheWrittenWord*Mo (thewrittenwordmo) | 76 comments nono Devlen can dissapear from the books al togheter and i'd only miss him in maybe two or three instances. :P

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Nithya | 24 comments once I finished Spy Glass for the first time I was like" what was opal thinking, she had the most handsome guy that lost his sister too, so she could relate to him, she made up with his mother and know she's just throwing all that away" but once I read it again I realised devlin isn't such a bad guy after all, he helped opal through a lot, so I really don't know

message 10: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Joy (melissared) | 19 comments i mean he helped her a lot, but i still cannot forget what he did with the clamps and all...

thank you!

message 13: by Nithya (new)

Nithya | 24 comments I agree with you
and the whole "I'm a changed guy thing is just weird"
I think that Devlin could have at most gained opals trust and become her story weaver so then she could stay with kade

Jani | 1 comments I absolutely love Devlen ^.^

message 17: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I'm still not sure about him. I get that he is reformed and all, but even so.

message 18: by Brooke (new)

Brooke (brookeluvsbooks) I loved both Devlen and Kade
But im glad she is with Devlen

message 19: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments I felt bad for Kade. And Devlen doesn't sit well with me. I mean he DID torture her.
If you ask me about all the MVS books, I like Kerrick the best. But it's definitely Valek if it's only Chronicles of Ixia series.

message 20: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 29 comments I did NOT want to like him. But something about him... I don't know.

Kade is lovable, but his moodiness got to me. (still love him!)

message 21: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Its strange, but having read Shadow Study, I like him a lot more. He is really sweet in that one, and he clearly still adores Opal so...

Yeah me too. The old and the new devlen are two completly different people.

message 23: by Ileana (last edited Mar 07, 2015 01:22AM) (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments I think it was because of his addiction to blood magic. And he does seem extremely nice in Shadow Study. I couldn't hate him anymore.

Addiction changes people...

Just look at me. I am completely different from before I got addicted to Maria V. Snyder books!

This is the good type of addiction.

message 27: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Ah, I see. But I don't think my mother agrees! lol

message 28: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments Same here! She's always calling me out of the room while I'm re-reading a book and says 'don't be stuck in your room all day'. My response? 'Blame Maria. V. Snyder.'
That's what happened to me while reading shadow study.

message 29: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments My mother is more of the: "You have enought books as it is. Why are you buying even more? You are running out of bookshelf space, maybe it is time to sell some of them off."

To which I reply (in my best Darth Vader impression): "NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Followed by my Gollum impression: "I need them. My preciousesss."

My mother has nothing to say since I moved out years ago ;)

message 31: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments ah the freedom of living on your own. I cannot wait till I can afford to move out. But what with spending £8,000 on fees for a masters degree I am stuck at home :(

message 32: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 29 comments Ha. I'm definitely away from parental influence. I'm married and we live in our own home. And the Mr knows that when I disappear into my library, he won't see me for a bit and lets me read. Pure bliss! :)

Hehe yeah. My bf knows not to disturb my reading either. And eventhough he doesnt read (I know! Crazy!) He will console me if a book breaks my heart and he'll hold me when I have a bookhangover

LUCKY!! I wish I was left alone when I'm reading, I'd probably never come out of my room ever again.
