Just what it says...for newsy bits. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. ;D

Feel free to post your good news too, with dutiful warning that this is NOT supposed to be a ginormous promo whorefest. If you're not active here or I don't know you? Please shut the hell up.

Belatedly occurs to me that I should mention I'm at Rachel Haimowitz's blog talking about Ze Creative Process of Much Nuckin Futs. If you've a mind, leave a comment for a chance at I, Omega and Collared swag plus Godiva! (Click on Collared's link to check out my sexy new bk page at Riptide, btw.)

Also, a sincere thank you to everyone who has already snagged a copy of IO. I, Omega was Loose Id's top seller the week it released and the second top seller this past week too, which is pretty freaking amazing. Made me giddyful anyway. LOL! I hope everybody has loved Gabriel and Cal's story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Woot!

message 3: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Oh that's great news on the top seller point! And yeah, it was a fantastic read!

message 4: by Kari (new)

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
Thanks, Jordan! I was seriously jazzed about the #1 spot, but getting #2 the same week Josh was #1? Oh my lord, let the fangirl squeeing commence. I shattered glass in fricking CHINA. LOL

Anyhoo...Another newsy bit. I'm over at gee/k/ink today blogging about Shifters and the Subtext of Sex if anybody wants to check it out. You can also leave a comment to be entered into a drawing for swag (notebooks, magnets, pens, etc) from BOTH of my fall releases, I, Omega and Collared as well as a 7oz package of Godiva Gems. Which is soooooooo good. I know -- because I demolished a box...one for me, one for you kinda thing, lol.

I can't be the only one who has a newsy bit. You guys are welcome to post your news too, y'know? ;-p

message 5: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Looks as if I was the first to post a comment?! eep. lol. Great little blog article Kari! And as much as I'm trying to keep my muse under wraps, you made me want to stop everything and start a shifter novel. Oiy. lol.

"Down Muse! Down!"

message 6: by Kari (new)

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
That can be your bk3. Bwa haha.

message 7: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) lol, but what about the other ideas my muse is throwing at me? I have no idea what book three will be, but as far as I can tell, I've got plenty of time to debate that question.

message 8: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper OK, you don't mind our adding news? Got the cover for Unacceptable Risk and posted it on my website http://kajeharper.wordpress.com/2011/.... We ended up with "Hidden Wolves" for the series title - thanks to all of you who brainstormed that for me.

Where's Jo to squee about the release of Barging In ? (Speaking of really big news.)

message 9: by Kari (new)

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
Yup, this is newsy bits for everybody, Kaje. Er...everybody meaning, people I know or choose to hang out here. Not that I'm opening the floor to everybody in the universe, lol.

Cool cover, Kaje!

And...oh crap, I need to go invite Jo! I didn't realize that I didn't have her friended until this morning and the invites had already gone out by then...DOH! O.O

message 10: by Anne (new)

Anne Tenino (annetenino) | 18 comments Hey, is this where the ginormous promo whorefest is?

Seriously. My newsy bit: I got a new plot bunny. Here's the newsy part: I actually needed this one. Wacky. Already researching and writing.

message 11: by Kari (new)

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
Heya, guys!

Lots of newsy bits for moi.

I'm at Jan Ivring's LJ today, talking about The Fork in the Road -- or Why I, Omega? so if you wondered why I did IO instead of the Lovely Wicked or Spoils sequel? Thar ya go. Stop by & say hi!

I'll also be chatting up IO and Collared (including the very first sneak peek you'll get NOWHERE ELSE) on the Whipped Cream yahoo group tomorrow (Saturday) 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST and I'll be giving away GOODIES!!! Stop in and grab some prizes. >:D

I've also had a few reviews for IO:

Joyfully Jay

Top2Bottom Reviews

and one more, but I've got like half an hour before I have to leave for my high school class reunion. Actually, the reunion's tomorrow, but the homecoming game is tonight. Whatever. I gotta bolt.

Stop by tomorrow when I'm at WC if for no other reason to see if I'm as hungover as I expect to be. LMAO

message 13: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper OK, I'm gonna ask - is that a purple condom? (I had to look at it for a minute but then I have middle-aged eyesight...fifty is middle-aged, right.)

message 14: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) lol, Kaje I didn't even notice what it was until you commented. I was just thinking some fancy purple design made to look pretty... but yeah, condom fits better with the words. I'm gonna have to sign that for sure!

I could definitely say I've reached my point of no return on "sweetie, you're too smart to write that trash." *snerk*

message 18: by Anne (new)

Anne Tenino (annetenino) | 18 comments What amazes me about comments like that is that people that make them think they're helping you. Like, giving you a much-needed self-confidence boost. When exactly the opposite is true. They're actually tearing down and belittling something you worked very hard for, and really put yourself out there to accomplish

message 19: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Anne, you hit the nail on the head with that whole statement.

That's why I can't wait to get that pic up on my website later... once I'm not at work, that is! lol. That'll be a great way to get a point across to people whom I might give my biz card to... which might be family members.

Hey, I've got a three day weekend, maybe I can work on my website and put up some smexy pics too, which I've been meaning to do for months now, that'll help for sure! hehehe. Fun!

message 20: by Kari (new)

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
What's truly funny is that the people who say I'm wasting my time writing this "trash" are referring to romance in general. They know nothing about the erotic or erotica. Would cost me my job. LOL

message 21: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) That's true too. It is romance in general. Well, when I was younger I kind of had that view of things, but it didn't last too long. I mean, look how many people read it to relax and enjoy themselves? To me, that's the whole point of reading to begin with. But to so many others, they don't think it should be done to relax and have fun, but to be constantly learning. ugh. lol.

Kari Gregg (karigregg) | 140 comments Mod
I, Omega is now available on Kindle at Amazon - YAY!

message 23: by Mickie (new)

Mickie | 12 comments Kari you made a comment about how writing erotica would cost you your Job thats such BS because the same people who would be up in arms about it are also the ones who hide porn in there truck or under a mattress.

message 24: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper Doesn't mean it isn't true though. People are hypocrites. Look at all the guys with five divorces "defending marriage" while cheating on their sixth wife.

Mickie | 12 comments Kaje wrote: "Doesn't mean it isn't true though. People are hypocrites. Look at all the guys with five divorces "defending marriage" while cheating on their sixth wife."

Oh No Kaje, I wasn't commenting that what Kari said was BS I was trying to comment on the fact that the same people who would fire her for writing erotica more than Likely had hidden porn stashes.

I know if people could see what was on my ebook reader they would be very unhappy with me and might want me to stop doing the volunteer work that i have been doing for 17 years.

message 26: by Kaje (last edited Oct 11, 2011 07:16AM) (new)

Kaje Harper Yeah, like the guy who reads thrillers is going to pull out a gun and shoot up the room. Too much to hope people will give up on thought control some day. (Sorry, bad mood, I'm reading a book about a kid sent to gay-to-straight re-orientation camp and it's got me mad.)

One of my biggest fans is my younger son's Sunday School teacher. And I'm a church secretary...so no, I"m never really astonished about what people like or don't like. LOL. A lesson for everybody on NOT judging by stereotypes.

It's just that I had some recent happenings (a relative came out) so...Yeah. I KNOW I'd lose my job. And good luck to 'em if they try, I say, I'm the only one of the lot who can run the stupid copier. LMAO

message 28: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Kari, I hope that coming out went okay. Doesn't sound like it was all rosey, but hopefully no kicking people out of the house or anything drastic!

Kaje, you'll have to tell me what that book is. It sounds sad, but we're always looking for more teen related LGBTQ books here at the library.

message 29: by Anne (last edited Oct 11, 2011 08:48AM) (new)

Anne Tenino (annetenino) | 18 comments Okay, now I've got my pissy on for the day. I'm barely hanging on to my rant, but that would be preaching to the choir here, so I'll spare you all.

Kari, I'm sendiing you good vibes.

The book is Hidden although I'm not far enough into it yet to decide if it's YA-appropriate or not. So far the tone is a little more adult lit.

message 31: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Thanks Kaje! I'll check it out and see what I think. A lot of our kids do like more adult type stuff anyway, so it might work out.

message 32: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper I'll review it when I'm done.

message 33: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) Sweet. Either way, it looks like something I'd read, regardless of whether or not I put it in the teen collection at the library.

I'm rather stunned honestly. And still not sure what exactly I won. LOL. I know I got Best slave/dubcon because someone jabbed me with a stick (I couldn't be there before 6pm), but...Wow. Very cool.
