Caleb Berciunas | 6 comments 33 when I first read it. Right before the new film adaptation came out in 2021. Loved the new film and had to of course go and watch the David Lynch ‘80s version as well. Such an intriguing novel that has an aura all its own.

Judy (judygreeneyes) | 23 comments Dune was a very influential book for me. I read it first when I was 17, around 1974, when I was in high school and reading all the sci-fi I could put my hands on. The story is so rich and tactile and scented. You can hardly avoid feeling the sand and smelling the melange. I've read it a couple of times since then.
