Need a Review?
Rosen did you ever get my direct tweet with my email? I don't think I've seen anything from you and just wanted to make sure you saw it.
Ah! I have fifty unread direct messages - oops! I wondered where you had gone! Thanks, I'll send you the file.
Two books available for review!SIMON VECTOR is a mixture of sci-fi thriller and pulp. Simon Vector has received some great editorial reviews, but would love more here on Goodreads. Free ePub or Kindle edition available upon request. 65k Words.
CORRECTION: A Gerald Ruhming Tale of Terror was just released and is a prequel novella to SIMON VECTOR. CORRECTION is a horror story and is for MATURE READERS. It is available as a free download in the Kindle Store until August 14th, but an ePub or Kindle edition is free upon request. 20k Words.
I will be happy to provide a free copy of my e-book Prometheus Comes to the first ten persons willing to review it. I'm not afraid of constructive criticism. The book has had pretty good reviews from a reader on Smashwords and a book blogger (the book blogger's review is here on Godreads and Amazon).
I can give a Smashwords coupon for a free download.
The blurb:
The year is 2142 and the world is divided economically, socially, and politically between the Northern Confederation, which is a loose union of the nation states of the Northern Hemisphere, and the South, which consists of poor, disorganized states that have unsuccessfully struggled to obtain economic and political equality with the Northern Confederation. By 2142, Earth’s resources are nearing depletion and the climate change wrought by the advancement of technological progress will soon create shortages of the most basic of resources, including food and water. However, Confederation scientists have discovered a planet that could save the Confederation and its people from a new dark age. There’s only one problem: it’s already inhabited.
Captain Jonathan Marcus and his crew embark to Nede to establish first contact. While tensions between the Confederation and the South erupt into violent war and acts of terror, Captain Marcus meets the Velathra, a pre-industrial, yet socially sophisticated society. The fate of the Velathra is also in the hands of Lathra Xantria, the chancellor of the city-state of Lexthra. She must ultimately decide whether to cooperate with the humans or risk a conflict that could destroy her civilization.
You can get a free sample at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

or
at Barnes & Noble at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/prome...
The blurb sounds interesting, Shawn. I'll go download a sample and see if it's something I'd like to read. I'm usually not too big a fan of stories with a lot of political tension, or violence, but the part about the other world and the aliens has me intrigued. :)
Jeff,How do I go about getting a review of my fantasy novel, Relics and Wonders: Lombard's Amulet? I think some open and honest feedback would really help as I pursue work on my sequels.
Kevin just post a blurb here and include if you are willing/able to distribute review copies to anyone who is interested. There are a few people who seem to check this thread fairly regularly to see if any club members have books that interest them.
Here, here. While having a free copy to read/review isn't required, it certainly tips the scale to your favor. :)
Right, post a blurb about your book, how long it is, who you think would enjoy it, etc. I'm a big fan of fantasy (as long as it doesnt' go too dark), not a fan of vampires or werewolves (there have been rare exceptions). I love steampunk, thrillers, mysteries, and a whole slew of others.
Not a big fan of horror. :)

I am looking for three people to review my book. I will gift 3 ebooks to the first three replies to this post. Here is a brief overview of what my book is about:Fueled by vengeance, a bounty hunter with unexplainable powers chases a sorcerer and his accomplice across a land full of magical beings. While on their trail, he befriends a mysterious young slave girl whose colossal secret may be the one thing capable of reigniting war between two kingdoms now sworn to protect one another.

While I'm not one for competition, I'm intrigued and would like to take a read. I do indie reviews on my review blog, and then to goodreads. (And B&N and/or amazon as requested.)The fact that it's based on an RPG cemented my interest, since I've based a few of my stories on my RPGs, or characters there in. :)
I'd be interested in your book as well Kevin, but I can't guarantee a quick turnaround on a review since my TBR list is pretty long due to my review blog. I'll keep an eye on your book, but I don't want to take one of a limited amount when others will get you your reviews much quicker.
Mia,Can you send me your email address and I will send you a gift ebook. Do you prefer Kindle or Nook?
Scott,I don't mind waiting a bit. Send me your email as well and whether you prefer Kindle or Nook and I'll gift you a copy.
I'm always looking for more reviews of any of my books. Klondaeg The Monster Hunter, in particular, could use more.If you're interested in any, please let me know.
Steve - I've got my review for Klondaeg written, just need to post it. Have several more to write. Give it a day or two and you'll see mine everywhere I have an account!
Ok, got my review for Klondaeg The Monster Hunter posted everywhere I could think of. I have it at Amazon, Amazon UK, Apple's iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and Shelfari.
Smashwords is being obnoxious. Won't load for me. I'll keep trying throughout the day.
Great book, Steve! I really enjoyed it!

LOL. Sparkly vampires can only be killed with Pop Rocks!!!Can someone tell me where we put our "blurbs" for a possible review of our books?
I am new, and I am trying to figure out how to navigate. I would love to read someone's work and review or add comments-whatever is needed. Thanks so much!!!
Sharon
Sharon - scroll down a little bit and you should see the Self Promo section. Feel free to post in there!
As for this thread, if you're looking for reviews, I usually recommend writing a shorter blurb about your book, how long it is, who your target audience is, and whether or not you can provide review copies. Free copies aren't necessary but can be extremely helpful luring potential reviewers!

Thank you so much Kevin! No. I wrote a novel, and I am in need of a reviewer. However, I am offering to help others as needed with reviewing work that has not been published quite yet- or helping out anyway I can. If we all help each other, I believe that is the only way we "Indies" are going to be heard. :). Of course, I will offer one of my paperback books to anyone who would like to review it. My book falls under: "Suspense," "Women's Fiction." It's a dark type of writing.
Sharon, don't forget to add your book title and link to your review request as well.
If you are looking to do some reviews you can scroll back on this thread and probably find a few that people are still looking for some more reviews. You could also jump into the BotM discussion to get to know some people in the group. It seems that the more people are willing to help out the more people are willing to help them so you have a great attitude for the club.

Gettin better. Had to cancel out on attending a wedding in New York though. Didn't think a 6 hour drive two days in a row sounded like a good idea.
I may be able to attend a local book release party though.

Hi everyone. I'd love someone to review my fantasy novella "Myriad." I already posted about it in the Self-Promotion folder, so sorry if I'm posting too much.
The book is free at Amazon, Amazon UK, iTunes and Barnes & Noble.
Book Description:
After the tragic loss of his wife and child, Myriad Markwin began tormenting the Royal family of Prentor. For eighteen years, he'd mercilessly killed people in the castle on the Princess' birthday. But this year, he wasn't settling for servants or guards. He was going to kill the Royal family themselves. A group of warlocks and witches was out to stop him, but a young newcomer to them, Kalin, was proving the most trouble...
Kalin has denied his magic for years, but suddenly finds himself in a battle with one of the most powerful warlocks that has ever lived. He has to face up to things about himself he never knew, to try and save the Royal family from murder. With his new friends helping him, and a new love enchanting him, can he stop the coming bloodshed? Will he survive the fight of his life?
This is a NOVELLA of approximately 26,000 words.
I'd be so happy for any reviews or ratings. Thanks so much.

THE FALL TO POWER: PART ONEIf you were given unlimited power, would you be a benevolent god?
Or a hedonistic demon?
THE FALL TO POWER, Book One of the Graeme Stone Saga, is an epic fantasy adventure that begins the travails of its eponymous hero.
Snatched from modern Britain and his life of humdrum misery, Stone is thrust into a harsh world of barbarian raiders, peaceful tribes and ancient spirits. With no memory of his former life, he does his best to gain acceptance in a strange land and come to terms with mighty new powers that manifest day by day.
But how did he come to be in this land?
Why does he have these newfound gifts?
And, when ancient evil comes knocking once more upon his door, will Stone stand up for what he knows is right?
Or will he let his anger rule and sit on the sidelines as the world burns...?
Begin his adventures in this, Part One of The Fall to Power.

Hey guys!
The Fall to Power is the first book in The Graeme Stone Saga. Parts One, Two and Three are all available on Amazon as ebooks and are enrolled in KDP Select.
I'm looking for people willing to review them. If you review The Fall to Power: Part One, I will happily send you the .mobi of Part Two.
Many thanks guys.
All the best.

Original intention, Mia, was to publish it as one book. But it weighed in at 182k words...
Luckily, there's natural breaks in the story as it was always in three 'episodes' as it were. Therefore it made sense to publish the individual parts.
Count it as three seperate books, for the sake of reviewing, even though they are continuations of the same story.
:)
Understood! I just wanted to make sure I understood. :)Are you offering review copies of the first part, or is this a general call for reviews?
Jeffrey - thankyou, sir!Mia - if you follow Jeffrey's suit and download a sample, then if you feel it's something you'd like to review, then I'm pretty sure I could sort you both out a .mobi :)
I would be interested in reviewing the first part of your story, though you may want to read this first and be sure you want to let me loose on it. ^_^http://boombabyreviews.miadarien.com/...
Not a problem, Mia. I'm a big boy, I can handle a bit of flak if it comes my way.Plus, there's always /bubble, /hearthstone...
*g* Win. I have a screen shot of me in the middle of a five Pally group all bubble hearthing out of Stratholme back before Burning Crusade even came out, during the epic chain to get the Pally mount...I'd be happy to read part one. You can email me at the email on that page I gave you.
I know, right? Was just reminiscing about my old forty-man Molten Core raids... and then how my husband and I (when we were 80 Tankadin and 80 Fire Mage) ran MC to Golemagg, just the two of us. *lol*Got it, awesome. Thanks! Got a couple of books ahead of you, but will let you know when I'm done. :)
Hi everyone. I wrote the Man With the Green Suitcase, a paranormal/mystery. I would love some reviews. I have it listed here on GR. Would also love reviews on Amazon. www.amazon.com/author/deedoanes
It's just 99 cents on Kindle. Let me know if you don't have a Kindle.
What does a prostitute, a corrupt businessman, and a disfigured young woman have in common with a mysterious, old homeless man who carries a green suitcase? The old man comes into people’s lives because it is important for them to experience the visions that he is somehow able to show them—visions that even he doesn’t understand. But whoever he connects with will go through a transformation that will change the course of their life, for better or worse. The old man has no memory of who he is or even what the suitcase holds. But one day he will find out all about his own secret and dark past…
This story is magical realism, a mix of fantasy/paranormal, a mystery that needs to be solved, and a man and woman who will finally realize that they were meant to come into each other’s lives and remain forever.
The Man With the Green Suitcase
Thanks
Hi! I would appreciate reviews for my debut novel Nandana's Mark, Book 1 of the Queen of the Realm of Faerie series. It is:
A Young Adult Fantasy
About 60,000 words
A spin off of the popular 15th century Melusine faerie tale
Dark and whimsical with humor and drama
http://www.amazon.com/Nandanas-Queen-...
the first chapter is also on my website as a pdf:
www.heidigwrites.blogspot.com
Melia is an eighteen-year-old half-faerie. She really wants to fly, but she doesn’t have wings. She lives in Illialei, a country in the Realm of Faerie, where all the full-blooded faeries do have wings.
Being a half-faerie brings her other challenges as well. Her mortal father is a druid who wants to incarnate Umbra—the one entity everyone in Illialei and the rest of the Enchanted World fears.
Umbra is tricky because he is incorporeal, and making any connection with his consciousness opens a door to his dark influence. Melia shares a telepathic relationship with her father, and his efforts to incarnate Umbra are effecting her in disturbing ways.
NANDANA’S MARK is about Melia’s first encounters with Umbra, and what happens when she challenges her father. She also gets her wings—in an unexpected way—and discovers the truth of who she is.
I can email a Review Copy to anyone who would like to read it and write a review. I can send files for Kindle, Nook, and iPad. I can also send a pdf. My email is: heidi_g@comcast.net
Thank you!
Hi J.D. -
Ok, got the review posted here, Amazon, Amazon UK, and Barnes & Noble. Looked for it on Apple's iBook and Smashwords, but didn't see it. If your book ever does show up there, let me know and I'll post the review there, too.
Great job! Definitely keep me posted when the sequel comes out!

Will do, Jeffrey. Thank you for such a detailed and thorough review. I'm so glad that you liked the book!
So, I've been on this major Michael Crichton kick for a few weeks... until I ran out of books of his that I wanted to re-read. (None of the stuff I've not yet read catches my interest.) I find his stuff good beach reads that I can chew through quick, enjoyable but doesn't make me work for it. I like the scientific edge, and the suspense atmosphere.I also really like books and movies about giant animals eating people. There's something wrong with me.
Went to the book store and was pointed to Steve Alten's Megalodon series, and I'm enjoying it, but I'd love to find some indie authors who might write the same kind of stuff.
So! Does anyone here write that, or know of any like that? That kind of... science-techno thriller, on the edge of perhaps being possible, that propels you right through the story? Giant animals eating people is a plus. Anything permanently bad happening to kids (like, death) or total apocalyptic scenarios will be a hard sell.
If it's an indie book, I'll be happy to offer reviews on my review site.
Any recommendations?
Hi there! I'd love it if anyone would be interested in my book Night Bells. It is a 100,000+ word novel that takes place on an ice planet in the distant future. The content of the story follows more towards the fantasy genre, however. It is appropriate for young adults and adults. Here is a synopsis:
Lord Maslyn has been a prisoner in his own home for the last six years. When the twelve year old noble of New Kristiansand discovers a secret passageway in his tower, he delves into a world of adventure, intrigue, and secrecy. With the help of a mysterious stranger and his friend Arna, Lord Maslyn seeks to unravel the secrets of his past and to plot his escape from his castle prison. As his life changes drastically, he is drawn into the larger tale of his elder twin brothers. Can he unearth the secrets of his family’s past without endangering those he has come to hold dear?
It is available in eBook and print here:

Hello, I'm new to the group and have enjoyed this link, reading the fantasy and vampire discussion. I wonder if, for a moment, I could change the genre to contemporary fiction, because I am in desperate need of a review at Barnes and Noble and at Smashwords. The title of my book is Letting Them, a 47,000 word short novel targeted at people who want to know what is wrong with our schools, and told through the eyes of one burned-out teacher. You can check the book out at www.barnesandnoble.com/w/letting-them.... If anyone can do me the tremendous favor of reading and reviewing my book, please email me at ksbrimhall@gmail.com and I will gift you the book from Smashwords. After reading for two weeks, I joined this group because people here are humble, truthful and entertaining. Indie authors forever.
I could really use reviews of my upcoming release, Wander Home. It's a family drama with mystery elements, set in an afterlife of my own devising. Here's the draft jacket copy:-------------------
Death is what you make it. . . .
Eleanor never wanted to leave the daughter she loved so much. The overpowering urge to wander -- to search, without knowing what she sought -- drove her away. She left little Cassidy in her family's loving care. But Cassidy and the others died in an accident before Eleanor could find her way home.
Cassidy has her grandparents, and her Great-Grandma; and they have her. And all of them have what may be eternity. Memories can be relived, or shared. The wonders of the world they left behind are only a thought away. And the one-way tyranny of aging is no more -- a white-haired and stooped great-grandmother one moment can be a laughing young playmate the next. But nothing can ease Cassidy's longing for her mother; and Eleanor's parents know better than to hope that Eleanor's life has been a happy one.
Now, they are all reunited, with the chance to understand and heal. But the restlessness that shaped Eleanor's life still haunts her in death. Somehow, she must solve the mystery of her life -- or none of them will be at peace.

What's your book about?"
Here's the blurb...
A writer's retreat seemed the perfect chance for Dee Whittaker to take her mind off her marital difficulties.
However, she meets five of the most hideous writers ever to have mastered a qwerty keyboard, and her problems quickly multiply. Things escalate further when the handyman winds up dead.
After fleeing from the island, Dee attempts to get her life back on track but begins to notice that something strange is going on. The stories written on the island are coming true and hers is next - complete with a murder.
Her estranged husband makes an unlikely sidekick as the two of them try to stop the literary copycat killing an innocent woman.
Packed with topical references, Pompomberry House provides a satirical look at the emerging world of indie publishing.
