Need a Review?
I will keep an eye out for the "that that" and let you know! I will be posting the review to my blog, amazon, and here. Anyplace else you would like for it to end up?I will send you an email With a longer review that will be just for you!
Shoot I just realized that I owe Big J an email still!
Oh ballz. A review on a blog and Amazon and a personal. I suppose I could do with some publicity. Many thanks for the selfless act. Anything I can do in return? In regards to the location of the posts- that's quite sufficient: my book is only available on Amazon anyhow. I'm especially looking forward to the personal one. (well, mostly, nervous jitters aside). Thank you very much, sir.
-Derek
P.S. I would definitely want to send you a book as a token of appreciation (though you'll probably be doing your reading on your kindle/phone/computer). I get them in on Friday so I'll shoot one over if you can provide an address.

Alivia, I'd be interested in reviewing your book or doing a review swap.

Might just be something I'd do, but it'd be kinda cool to have a "glory shelf" of some sort containing all the books reviewed.
I have a shelf filled with indie books I have reviewed and a good portion of them are signed copies. I'm a big collector and I think the next step is too g to be signed bookmarks to go with the book collection.

Or did you want me to hold off due to weather?
Hmmm.. Bookmarks... Interesting idea. Maybe I'll have to find a site where I can customize them.
-Derek
Alright Derek you convinced me! But I will only take the book so that when you make it big I can rub it in peoples faces that I have an original copy! :)
To Jeremiah: Aha! Lovely. I'll ship one off to you directly after receiving my shipment. If you pass me a pm or an email with your info in the next couple of days, I'll be happy to oblige. In response to making it big: you can even point out the inconsistencies in grammar and that you helped with editing! Fun stuff. :)
To Scott:
Perfect. I won't even be getting them in 'til Friday anyways. How does the month seem to be turning out for indie books in the new year?
I'm always after more reviews. I submit Harbingers of Mortality. It's a Swords & Sorcery novel, about 83k words.
Here's the description:
It was supposed to be a simple mission.
When an assassination attempt goes awry, Jeshu is forced into the service of the empire he was sworn to destroy. His target: a woman searching for ancient knowledge that would save her people, but throw the world's balance of power into chaos. He must travel to the land of the sorcerers, where unlimited magic reigns and a bloodthirsty goddess lurks in the shadows, waiting for a chance to strike.
If you're interested, let me know and I'll provide a Smashwords coupon.

I'm a sucker for assassin novels. Although I'm kind of strapped for time promoting The Seven, I'll see if I can't make some to read it. Just bought it on Amazon, though. No need for the coupon.

Steve, I'm game, if you'd like to do a review swap that would be great. I can also provide Smashwords coupon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056GV7E6

Martin, I sent you a message with more info.
If anyone's interested in a happy little romp through a post-apocalyptic world that arguably became better after civilization ended, I'd love some reviews for Wind-Scarred.It's the tale of Ezra Hawkins, sole heir to wormhole technology in a city that believes itself to be all that remains of mankind. He boldly sets out to show that the planet is a safe place again, and discovers that it's not such a big secret... at least, to the rest of the world.
People who can control the elements, teams of futuristic peacekeepers, and mysterious events like The Great Waffle Switch abound in Book 1 of The Will of the Elements: Wind-Scarred. If people are interested, I'll promote it on Amazon this weekend.

I have had some really good ones pitched to me on my blog, but I'm still playing catch up to some from last year. I try to give people from the club a higher priority and the fact that I have a couple of people who have volunteered to do reviews with me should expedite the process, though I am still trying to learn efficiency. I am hoping to finish about 5 to 6 books on my vacation and then in Feb focus on some books from here.

That sounds lovely to me. I'm not in any major hurry, besides my natural propensity to want things done quickly. I'll ruthlessly repress that presently. Thanks for the opportunity.

Hey you are on my list to review! So far it is Big J's book, then Derek's, and Sky you are after them. I will try to read quickly!

That would be awesome, Patricia. Would you like to swap through email? I have all formats on my desktop ready to roll, lol.

Nothing makes your day more when you wake up first thing in the morning to a new 5 star review! For both your books! :) On top of which this person left a note on my blog saying how much they loved the books and are eagerly awaiting for the release of book III.
Yikes, I need to keep working on it.

It's comment #5, from a guy named Emil. I don't know if he's a member of this group or not, I don't think he is, but I wanted to say thanks again for the compliment!

Looks like I never got around to asking for reviews on this thread after my book came out. So, belatedly: I'd love reviews of Twin-Bred, my science fiction novel. I can provide a Smashwords coupon, a .mobi file or an .epub file (or PDF, if anyone prefers that). You can look the book up here on Goodreads for details. (Tag line: Can interspecies diplomacy begin in the womb?)
There's a tag line for you! :) I came up with a tag line for my book a while back. My first book, anyway.
"Some days it didn't pay to get out of bed."
"Some days it didn't pay to get out of bed."
Nice reviews Big-J. I know what you mean!A tag line for book 2? Hmmm...
'They're Bakkian.... And they're pissed!'. :)

Thanks again for reading it,

Hi guys - I've just got Die Laughing (from the Blue Moon Detectives) up, and I'd love a couple of reviews. I've got free PDF copies to give away to anyone who wants one - if you email me at jhsked[@]hotmail.com. It'll also be free on kindle in a couple of weeks. (Basement Blues is free this weekend, for anyone who wants a short intro to the characters.)It's an urban fantasy - synopsis is here for you:
The gods are back in town. Well, one of them is - and he doesn't play nice.
Jane Rossa is trying to find out who - or what - killed her brother. Enter Billy, a nice guy with a few unusual talents, and very unusual friends.
Can a vampire, a ghost, and a shape-shifting house-cat stop a deranged god who thinks killing people and wearing their bodies is laugh-out-loud fun?
Maybe - with a little help from their friends. And a hell of a lot of luck.
I just grabbed Basement Blues, get my literary feet wet, so to speak. The genre sounds like my kind of thing. :)
Die Laughing is a good read. I got a peek at it last weekend and it stays true to the Basement Blues. It works for fans of John Hartness's Black Knight Chronicles as well.
I haven't asked for a review thus-far, because I've known you guys for a while and I'm a little uncomfortable about it. However, if either of you are interested, send me a message. I'll gift, of course. I appreciate honest reviews, even if they're negative.
Jeff
Hi Jeff!
I can't make any promises as to when I'd get to it, but I never turn down a free book and I always review what I read!

Thanks, Big J. I know you're a busy guy, so that means a lot. If you can message me your email, I'll be glad to send it to you. I can send a PDF today. I only have enough paperbacks left for the signing on Friday, but I plan to order more, so if that's what you want, I can get it to you in a couple of weeks.

Derek - you can customize things like bookmarks, postcards, tshirts & mugs through zazzle, & it's free to set up. If anyone wants a review done, hit me up - I have a bit of a backlog on book reviews, but will make club members a priority. All of the descriptions I've seen on here sound really intriguing, and I'm more than happy to read them. Helps keep me sane during my travel time!
Scott wrote: "Which guys was that directed to Jeff?"Hi Scott!
Well, all guys that review stuff, really. However, I kind of directed it to you and Big J, since you guys started the thread.
BTW - I need to send you an email, or something. The winner of my paperback book, from the holiday giveaway, came back in the mail. Undeliverable, it said. I double checked the address you sent and it was the same. Can you let me know what to do about that?

That sounded so crass, and I didn't mean it to. Very sorry about that. Funny how things come off when you reread them.
Anyhow, it is my honor to have anyone review my book. Let me know if you are interested.
Jeff
Jeff,
I e-mailed you the email I got from the winner to verify the address. Hopefully I didn't mess it up when I transferred it over.
I didn't think your reply was crass. I just didn't want to butt in if you were directing the comment to someone else. I'd be happy to take a look at your book as well.

Thanks, Scott. It was the same address I sent it to. I'll send it again. Might be a few days before I get it out.
Glad nobody was offended. At least I got to use the word "crass." I like that word. Thanks for the offer. If you want to take a look, I'll email a PDF, if that works. Let me know.
Jeff
I can email that winner and see if there is anything up. I'd hate for you to pay shipping twice for your book to get a round trip around the US
I would love a review! White Lies - A mystery set in Los Angeles with minimal cursing and violence.Asher was quietly putting his life back together in a suburb of LA when the police came for him. For murder. All the evidence pointed to him, and his history of drugs and drinking didn't help. But a friend was dead, and he had to find her killer without tumbling back into the rabbit hole of substance abuse.
Here's the link to Amazon. If you are interested I can send you a free copy for review. http://www.amazon.com/White-Lies-eboo...
Still looking for more reviews of The Spaces Between...Fantasy clichés are tested in this dark, off beat story. An adventure, a journey, a quest for survival. But the heroes, if they are heroes, won't come close to saving the world.
I can gift, ship the paper copy, whatever works. :) Thank you.
I've got a few reviews to finish up. Will get 'me posted as soon as I can. Trying to not catch the bug my wife had and I think I'm losing the battle...
*sigh*
*sigh*
Scott - review for Net Switch posted on Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and Shelfari. Tried Apple, but couldn't find it.
Thanks Jeff I'll get that posted to the blog sometime this week. I can send you a new list of books if you'd like another.

My book is called Illumine, a YA Fantasy novel with sub-hints of romance. I'll post the cover and synopsis here.
For the past five months Essallie Hanley has been trying to forget about the frightening murder of her boyfriend. Haunted by vivid nightmares and hallucinations of the event she does anything she can to pretend she's like every other normal girl in High School.
Only Essallie is far from normal. Able to conjure blue fire and a shimmering silhouette of wings from her body, she seeks the only known solace left to her name; her first home in Belfast, Maine.
But she soon realizes that her return home is only the beginning of a long and twisted road taking her as far from her humanity as possible, with Kayden, the demon originally summoned to slaughter her, leading the way. Unable to touch her but oddly curious, he joins Essallie in her search to find out just what she is. But neither of them were prepared for the secrets they've begun to unravel, secrets that will change Essallie and everyone around her forever.
------
If anyone is interested in reading it, I'm happy to send a digital copy your way or do an even swap of a review for a review. If you are interested in doing a review for review set-up, I typically only read YA (nothing else really catches me, bonus if it has Fae, vampires, angels, or other typical mythical creatures) and the more of a fantasy/urban fantasy/paranormal/paranormal romance type of book, the more likely I'm going to jump on it like white on rice, HAHA!
