Kelsey (kelseynicole) So the only reason i put this under college talk is because we dont have a folder about just everyday life situations. Like for instance..i live in a one horse town with literally nothing to do and im trying to think of ideas for me and my boyfriend to do on nights like tonight..when neither of us are hunting and we want to spend time together. lol So any ideas?!

hmm... I used to live in a similar type of town back in the day..so i know how extra creative you have to be to find something to do

Some things my boyfriend and I like to do if we don't end up going out and we just want to be chill..

-watching a movie together and cuddling :)
- making a big dinner and dessert together.. always fun to cook with my bf
-have a picnic outside if it's nice..which i'm sure with where you live you have some amazing places to go and do this.
-board games or card games are always fun.
- my boyfriend and i tend to do really random things like rearrange my whole room and paint it..which is very entertaining if you have a boyfriend anything like mine haha
-if you are into photography or just love taking pictures..sometimes i make my boyfriend come exploring with me and we just take random pictures.
-camping outside in a tent
--haha sometimes we are losers and just play video games and he makes fun of me bc i suck at them!

message 3: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) what we do for fun is Hunt or go to the shooting range..or fish..and go for rides..but we have definately rode around pretty much everywhere here..so we have planned to go shoot bows and guns this afternoon. =) haha we are soooo creative. lol we also wrestle and insult each other just for the kick of it. hahahah we are evil..=)

that sounds fun! i think you just might have inspired me to plan a different sort of date with my bf. That would be something we would be so unlikely to do. My bf and i decided that every month we were each going to plan a date..it didn't have to be anything that costs money( it could be). that idea was born out of a fight (started by me..haha) about how he didn't care about any of the things that I enjoyed and how we were so totally different that i wasn't sure if it would work anymore..so we decided that rather than being so caught up in the differences of things that we liked..that we would plan dates that we wouldn't normally do..for example..I might plan a date to go to this huge outdoor flea market thing or an art museum..something he would totally never want to do.. its been fun though! :) His dates normally end up being something that has to do with sports..but it's fun.. :)

message 5: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) fun!! yea me and josh like the same things pretty much. lol so i mean its hard to get creative...when we both like what we already do.

message 6: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
haha i wish my boyfriend could like some of the same things..we can barely agree on the same movie..but it makes it fun sometimes. its really funny how totally different we really are. so i envy you in some respects in that you can agree on something to do!

ps. i love the fact that you hunt and stuff. I wish i wasn't such a girly girl haha..i think after I moved near the city/in the suburbs I tried to get rid of all my "country living" roots.

holy crap..speaking of hunting..there are totally 3 deer about 40 feet from my house that I am staring at out my window..just walking around..my neighborhood has a ton of deer for some reason even though we are a very suburban town.

message 7: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) shoot them! lol see i would so get kicked out of that neighborhood. Yea i have never been girly..sometimes ill dress up but i feel so weird and out of place..and then people make a huge deal about seeing me dressed up..that i feel stupid. lol

message 8: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
haha i really do want to shoot them..these are probably the same ones that jumped out in front of my car the other night. grr. stupid deer. here's an idea..you can come make a trip to my house..and shoot all the deer :) haha

i have a friend who is the same way. i always feel bad for her because people are always like "omg..you are wearing a dress"...and she always feels so awkward. so i understand what you mean about that.

message 9: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) yea they do that to me..or if i wear a skirt..also usually my regular attire is cowboy boots jeans and a tee..well if i wear a nice shirt..and my boots josh gets annoyed so we went to Harley Davidson the other day and he picked out some really nice boots there and i told him that he could get them for me since he hates my other boots. lol

seems like you guys all have boyfriends to hang out with. Lately boys have been nothing but a pain in the ass for me.

message 18: by Silvia (new)

Silvia (silverware) | 436 comments LOL! Oh I know all about boys that are pains in the asses. I just found the right one finally! I love a good scary movie!!! What a fun idea! I want to go see a scary movie and then go to a Haunted House right after!!!

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
Jen--that sounds like so much fun! I love being festive! :) and honestly..sometimes..even though I love my boyfriend of almost 2 years..he STILL is a pain in the ass to me. you just have to find one that is less of a pain in the ass. but i was right there with you for a long time..

Silvia--i am DYING to go to a haunted house or a haunted hayride thing. In Philly we have this eastern state penitentiary that is supposed to be wicked scary.

message 20: by Jen (new)

Jen | 111 comments yeah i have heard some good things about the penitentiary. friday night i went to valley of fear (~30 mins from philly) before we rented the movie. The hayride was kinda lame but the part where you walk through the woods and people jump out at you was pretty scary. My friend and I were holding hands the whole time huddled together.

message 21: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
ooh the valley of fear is like 15 minutes or so from me..i've never actually been there. I heard the same thing that you said..that the hayride was lame but the woods part was scary. Im sure I would be scared..i don't like things jumping out at me. haha. but at the same time i like getting scared.

message 22: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Williams (mrslaurenwilliams) | 425 comments i would probably die a thousand deaths if i went to a haunted house. there's one in evansville, indiana thats close to where i live and i swear you would have to drug me and tie me up before i'd go. its one of those where people are in costumes and they chase you with chainsaws but the blades are off it. forget that crap! you know how most people run, see, i just stop and get into fetal position. i would be no fun at a place like that. haha. i would just stand outside and take pics of my friends when they whizz by the windows. haha.

message 23: by Janet (new)

Janet In Greeley, because we're in farm country out here, they have a haunted corn maze. It is so much fun and so freaking scary!! Last year it wasn't too bad but the first year we went, they did a great job!! It's so much fun!!

message 24: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
aww Lauren..that is so sad picturing you in the fetal position in the middle of a haunted house. haha

Janet..I love haunted corn mazes! I think that is one of my favorite parts about the fall..hayrides and haunted houses/mazes.

message 25: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Williams (mrslaurenwilliams) | 425 comments haha. its just way too much for me. i can watch the scariest movies ever, but real life situations? no way. haha. lets just say there is a gun in my closet. and no, i don't go target shooting for fun, its there to scare off the bad guys. :P

but anyways, on the life itself subject, i feel like sharing cause i love this group and i relate to you guys a lot. reading not only entertains me, but it calms me as well. reading inspires me and i feel like there's just so much knowledge to be gained and all i have to do is pick up a book.

i have generalized anxiety disorder and it's been difficult. it didn't get serious until i started college and since then i've been dealing with it almost daily. sometimes i have to leave class or work for fear of a panic attack. all in all, i am doing well, but my grades are worrying the heck outta me. but for me, worrying makes matters worse, so i read. i read for comfort, for fun, for knowledge, and for myself.

sorry, i just had to vent. :P but i've always heard that talking about your problems help, and so i figured i'd try that one out.

message 26: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Baguinat (kelseybaguinat) Lauren: I can definitely relate to that. I used to have panic attacks all the time. They've lessened up a bit lately, so I'm lucky, but they definitely suck and I can't breathe...and yada yada. I went to the doctor when I was younger, and he said that I had an anxiety disorder and depression, but I never really took anything for it. It definitely comes and goes. I just try to keep my mind off of stressful things and try to stop worrying so much. Reading definitely helps me too.

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
Lauren: Thanks for sharing! I admire you so much. I love hearing people's stories..because really..everyone has one and you'd never know it..I can't relate too much to what you are going through..only on a smaller scale..when my mom was really sick I started getting small panic attacks and passed out a few times(most of that was related to not eating though) but..I think its great that you shared that with us..I feel like I "know" you a little better from that..and I think you are so strong..some people would be miserable and would stay isolated alot..that's what happened to my one friend with some anxiety issues..I'm glad that reading has become that calm you need..

and if you ever need to talk..feel free to facebook me or message me on here. :)
I love listening..and when I want to be..i'm a good listener!

message 32: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Williams (mrslaurenwilliams) | 425 comments i'm actually feeling a little better all the sudden! but it could be the steroids they gave me. hehe. either way, i put some "different" pajamas on and made the bed, got online some, and actually ate a little. i'm about to read a good chunk of rebel angels by libba bray. i would catch up on some october country, but i left it at home and i'm at my moms. i still need my mom when i get sick :)

It's nice to get away from the suburbs/city and go to the country for a relaxing weekend..

not to mention that i found out that my little sister loves to read now!! haha..i knew i would rub off on her..she read Crank so she was telling me about that..and i was just so excited because we both are going to read Twilight together!

Spencer (spencerafreeman) Work has been... for me (still deciding how to fill in the blank) We had a "training session" today, at which my new boss decided to delegate and tell us things we already knew. My best friend is coming into town today and we haven't seen each other in almost 6 months so we're going to go out and paint the town! As for the rest of the weekend... I'll keep you posted :)

Have a happy weekend ladies!!

Tomorrow I am going to a sudoku tournament in Philly and then going to Halloween bingo with my cousins. Sunday I will probably have to study and work on a presentation.

ughh I have to go to a wedding today..for my boyfriend's cousin that I have never met..i hate those kinds of things..going somewhere where i barely know anybody..and i keep getting introduced over and over again to random people whose names I'll never remember. It's been so cold out lately that the last thing I want to do is be in a dress..so that's where i'll be all day/night. Hope ever one else is having a good weekend!

end of rant..

message 42: by Janet (new)

Janet So, the club that I am in is volunteering to work at a Women's Gala tonight (Saturday) And yes, it does suck to work it on a Saturday night but that's the way things go. Anyway I headed up getting it all the volunteers and I had 15 people signed up and in the last 3 days I have had 5 people cancel! It is so frustrating because I know they just don't want to do it on a Saturday night. Ok I just had to vent!

But I am going to my Uncle's birthday party today, which I love seeing my family! And then I am going to see High School Musical 3 with my little sister tomorrow!! I am so freaking excited for that!!!!!!!! Haha I am a loser, I know!

Then it's back to the real world of two projects due this week! Haha woot, but I am going to enjoy the weekend while it lasts!

message 43: by Janet (new)

Janet P.S.

Jen- I love sudoku!! I wonder if we have anything like that around me! That's so exciting for you!! How does it all work?

message 44: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
Janet..I completely understand that frustration. I'm in SIFE at my school and I was heading up one of the projects and had to get volunteers..and I seriously had so many people cancel from helping or people would just not respond to my emails when i asked them to confirm that they were still helping. ahh so frustrating!

high school musical 3..haha..all my friends love HSM..i watched it with them last year and it just cracks me up how much they get into it..its mainly guys.

message 45: by Jen (new)

Jen | 111 comments sudoku was pretty fun. The competition was sponsered by the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper and its the largest puzzle competition ever. You register as beginner, intermediate or advanced. Then there are three prelim rounds. The first person to successfully complete all three puzzles within 30 minutes for that round moves onto the finals. soo... 3 people from each skill level moved onto the finals. There were also bonus rounds for age categories and geographic location. I played at intermediate and the puzzles were really difficult. Im thinking of playing as a beginner next year. Oh and in the finals the 3 people have to go on stage and complete a puzzle on a big white board within 20 minutes. The advanced category finalists were insane. They had arrows with numbers going everywhere.

anyone else get this urge to just pack up and leave all the time?

I really just want to quit school, meet new people, discover and explore new things, have new experiences, etc. etc.

and then SMACK..the realistic side of me stops that train of thought abruptly..i know i need to finish school..I know I just can't pick up and leave right now.

i really do just need to get away after I graduate. i'm stuck & I don't like it!

message 48: by kate (new)

I'm ready for Europe again. I just love the pace and ambiance there. I could definitely see myself living in Europe.

Kate..i think you and are practically the same person. haha..well not reallyy..but you know..

For the past 5 years I have been talking about how I am going to live in Europe..my friends think I am a nut..but especially after traveling over there..i know i'm better off there.

and yes..i think that's why I do read..to get out of the monotony of my life. I think that's why I tend to put down books that seem boring to me within the first 2 chapters.
