Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) GRRR I need to vent! I just want to go home and not have to do my silly radio show right now. I hate the fact that I decided to live 50 miles away from where I'm living! And I HATE black ice! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Okay, I feel a little better.

vent away caiti!! :)

black ice sucks!!
& whats up with this living situation that you are 50 miles away??

message 103: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Oh I didn't want to give up my city for a college/retirement town where there is nothing to do. Not that where I live does but it's definitely better...other than the drive in the winter.

ohh gotcha. yeah i'm commuting this year..it takes about 45 minutes..and i definitely hate it when its rainy and stormy..its a bunch of windy roads..amazing drive on a nice day..but sucks at night!

message 105: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Oh I hear ya on that one. What are you going for? Any updates on the fashion school?

message 106: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
I'm going for Business Administration..i haven't figured out what i'm doing with fashion school yet..things with my boyfriend and i haven't been going so great lately..so i'm wondering if it is a stupid decision not to go..even though i really want to be here to support him with everything going on with his dad..i mean..if we break up..(which i hope we don't..i hope things can be worked out..) then i will be miserable around here and regretting the fact that i didn't go.

message 107: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Yeah, I don't know why but I was thinking about it and that's the thought that came to me. It's never wise to sacrifice so much of yourself that you lose yourself for one person no matter how much you love them. If they love you too, they shouldn't ask that of you. Not that your boyfriend has, but does that make sense?

message 108: by Caiti Casey (last edited Nov 11, 2008 06:00PM) (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Okay for more randomness! I have been searching for hours on end online (cause shopping in South Dakota SUCKS!) Does anyone know where to get a brown jacket similar to Bella's? I think it's super cute to fit the super cold weather. Any help would be awesome! Heck, if someone found out where to get one I would be up for a Sisterhood of the Traveling Jacket. :P

Here's a picture...

It looks like the outside is suede and it's a jacket with a hood. I found out that the wool lining with the jacket is called Sherpa.

ughh i had a really really really bad day today. it involved stupid drama that shouldn't be drama bc all i did was stand up for what i believed in a situation when some of my guy friends were making derogatory comments that offended me as a woman..someone got pissed..accused me of making up things and blah blah blah..sent me a nasty email..which was ridiculous..and i cried. and it was horrible. (even though everyone MINUS this kid understands why i was pissed..) haha funny how we were just talking about how much girls suck..guys can suck too. ughh and all i want to do is be on GR, read, and NOT do homework..but alas..i have another stupid group project awaiting me. :(

message 111: by April (new)

April | 39 comments Awwww, I am really sorry Jamie. Hope things start getting better for you. I'm pretty sure if someone makes you cry and upsets you that bad, they are not worth being friends with. Friends are supposed to comfort you not hurt you. Always stand up for what you believe...you go girl :o)

message 112: by kate (new)

kate (katelucia) Sorry Jamie! That sounds so stupid! =(

message 113: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Sorry to hear about that Jamie. Is there anyway we can form a hit man group on here and beat those who offend our fellow good readers?

message 114: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
hahaha caiti..that seriously made me laugh so much..and thanks girls..your support made me feel a little bit better!

and i do think a hit man group is a great idea! especially on this particular lad. haha. i'm trying to be polite because if i say what i really think on him..well it would be real mean..and i'm all about LOVE and not hate.haha.

message 115: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
thanks everyone! Today was much better so far. I actually ended up talking with this kid's girlfriend so that maybe as a woman she would understand where i was coming from..and she did..it was great...she realized that everything got misinterpreted and that he was just misinformed. soo..i feel a little bit better..hopefully she will be able to explain it to him..because i refuse to email him back..i might lose my cool..i don't handle nasty emails too well.it's just low...say it to my face! haha :)

i'm not really that tough :)

message 116: by Janet (new)

Janet Haha I love it! I am the same way with e-mails. I get really nasty in them. Good job in keeping yourself cool!!

message 117: by Tami (new)

Tami | 3103 comments Mod
About those emails, sign up for a free email account at hotmail or something, send all your scalding emails to it, then you feel better for venting and the person you would have sent it too has no idea.

Randomness: have any of you noticed funny things while looking up books on this site. I typed in "The History of Love" to see what was said about the book on December’s poll, and it pulled up Robinson Crusoe and World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

haha you girls crack me up.

tami..i noticed that too..i thought it was odd.

message 119: by kate (new)

kate (katelucia) I loveeedd Role Models!! So funny. Def. Worth seeing.

And uhm, just how exactly are you girls dealing with freaks on this site?! I thought this was supposed to be a site for the literate folk who enjoy intellectual stimuli? Wasn't expecting drooling neanderthals.

I've been having really creepy messages from people. And in general, I'm not responding. How do you girls deal?

message 120: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Wow that is weird Kate. I haven't had any of those yet, but some creepers asking to be my friend. I think you can make your profile private. But other than that I think it's like any other networking site, you just have to ignore them. Unless there is a way to report them.

message 121: by kate (last edited Nov 14, 2008 12:25PM) (new)

kate (katelucia) =( Oh well. I think I will be making my profile private though. Good thinking! Shame that eliminates others from seeing it though!

Anyone remember that old Jackson 5 song?

"One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl!"

**Def. not Jackson 5. The Osmonds. hah

So another random post. In the mail today I got a package. I hadn't ordered anything so I was a bit confused. It was a book.

Turns out that I won one of the giveaways I had signed up for here on Goodreads. The book looks a little too romancy for me, but I will let you know how it turns out.

FREE BOOK! Always welcome. If you don't already, go to Explore at the top of the page, and Giveaways to the far right. There are lists of all kinds of books they are giving away. You don't have to give a review, though they strongly encourage it. I have also added some to my TBR list because they sound interesting. Anyways! Good luck all!

thats so awesome tami!! i'm jealous! i want to win a free book! haha

message 124: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Hahaha! The Osmonds!

Tami that is so cool! I've signed up for those from day one. Doesn't writing a review for the books that you have won increase your chances of winning more?

message 125: by Janet (new)

Janet Kate- man Role Models!! That movie was awesome!!! So funny!

Everyone- so I saw the new Bond movie last night. It was pretty good, I had never seen any of the other ones, ANY of the 50 million other ones haha. But man, just got to say that new Bond is freaking HOT!!! The whole movie was only worth seeing because he is gorgeous! Haha. Just wanted to say!

message 126: by kate (new)

kate (katelucia) CHANGELING was incredible. I was not expecting it. My friend and I saw it on a whim last night. Amazing.

My boy and I are seeing QoS tomorrow night. And even though he agreed to seeing Twilight with me, I decided to go to the premiere with a girlfriend of mine instead. I mean, it would be rude to drool over the movie with my boyfriend hating every minute. I think it'll be more fun with just girls. =)

Me too. Saw Role Models last night in Vegas. Not my first choice, but I told my mom I would see QoS with her, so it fell to the choice of my friend. I was surprised I liked it. Very funny at times.

message 129: by Janet (new)

Janet I LOVED Role Models. *Spoiler* When they come out dressed as KISS, I honestly thought I was going to pee my pants! Oh man!

Enjoy QoS, HOT! Haha, sorry I can't get over him, he's hot!...I'm lame, I know!

April | 39 comments Ok....this is soooo random, just a warning! Does anyone besides me like those little debbie Christmas Tree cakes??? My creative writing class had a discussion about them yesterday. I absolutely LOVE those things. I'm a huge Yorks fan too.

Ok something else even more random...but I had to share with you guys....Friday night a group of us went to a Japenese rest. and I totally tried SUSHI for the first time EVER and I LOVED it....i'm totally craving some right about now.

Ok i'm finished with being random...I usually have these moments when I'm supposed to be studying like today (have 2 huge test 2morrow) and I'm not motivated to study!!!

message 132: by Caiti Casey (new)

Caiti Casey Spiess (mrssteven) Aw, I'm so jealous of you guys. I'm not a fan of seafood at all, so naturally I hate sushi. I do wish I liked it though. Maybe it will grow on me. Until them bring on the Chinese.

message 134: by Janet (new)

Janet Haha everyone keeps telling me to try sushi but I really can't bring myself to do it!! Maybe someday...

message 135: by April (new)

April | 39 comments Oh it was well worth it...I think we had Crunchy Shrimp sushi and California roll and my friend knew the chef so he left off the eggs that would have normally covered the California one. Im not a huge seafood fan either and it was DELISH! :o)

Hopefully doing some shopping tomorrow.

Twilight movie on Sunday!

message 138: by Heather (new)

Heather (andshewontsleep) My boyfriend's sister just turned 21 this week, so she is coming to the city and we are taking her out to celebrate tonight. I think the rest of the weekend will be needed for relaxing after tonight. I'm hoping to curl up and finally finish reading Jane Eyre.

I have a hairy test on Monday or Tuesday so hopefully I will be studying. Does anyone else's school have a testing center, so you don't actually take the tests in class? How do you feel about that?
But the good thing is we talked one of our other teachers into canceling two classes he teachs next week so we can study for the test, Um, I mean so we can work on our projects for his class. :)
So, Next week, I have one night class and that is it! Oh, and the test. So, almost a full week off school! Yay!

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
at my school we take the test in class..which i do like. but i took an online class at a nearby community college and had to take it in their testing center..wasn't a fan...i felt so uncomfortable there for some reason..there is something about being in a classroom that makes me test better.

tami..that sounds like a great next week for you with barely any classes! :)

message 144: by Tami (new)

Tami | 3103 comments Mod
I don't care about taking the test at the testing center, what bothers me is the fact that the test will be 3 hours because it is there and not in class. It is hard enough to fit class into my schedule. He does give that day off of class but the center isn't open at that time. I think it is laziness on the teachers part. Sorry for the rant!

ooh that is rather annoying Tami! I'm not sure how I would be fitting that in! good luck!! :)

kate (katelucia) our testing centers are pretty decent about times and things, but it's still unnerves me.

message 149: by Janet (new)

Janet Not up to much this weekend! My boyfriend and I kind of spent the day together which is nice, and we're about to leave for some dinner. We saw Zach and Miri Make a Porno and it was terrible! I think after seeing Role Models, nothing will ever be funnier. I just did not like Zach and Miri. Well must go because my boyfriend is grumpy for some reason...who knows!! Have a great rest of the weekend everyone! GO BRONCOS!
