Who is it this time? Cause I'll beat up that SOB if you want.

message 2: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Are you talking about me? I hope you're not talking about me. Surely I rank waaaaay too low on your radar for you to be talking about me.

message 3: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Come on, Seth! Answer me!!

message 4: by Rusty (new)

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 2198 comments Hey Amanda,

This Venus Plus X you recommended is just so-so. It's hard to get into, especially owing to the fact that it keeps putting me to sleep.

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Try reading it whilst drinking a (few) vodka and red bull. The Red Bull will keep you buzzed and awake and the vodka will make your mind slow down a tidge, allowing you to absorb the sublte nuances, hence boosting your rating from "so-so" to "hey, this ain't so bad after all."

message 6: by Rusty (new)

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 2198 comments That's good to know. I'll keep it in mind.

But what would I have to drink in order to get through "Don Quixote"? I don't think there's enough vodka in the world.

Amanda (randymandy) Heroin.

message 8: by Amanda (last edited Oct 08, 2008 07:58PM) (new)

Amanda (randymandy) we all live in a yellow submarine

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Oh. Well, that's ok then. I'll take back my raw nakedness and move on...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Are you reading Anubis Gates to be in the same club as me, Mandy? The Seth-Would-Punch-You-If-He-Saw-You-On-The-Subway Club?!

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Good God.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Never change, Mandy!

message 13: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Living is the essence of life, Seth. You should try it sometime.

message 14: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) You know what, message 19 was a defensive remark. And while I agree with what I said, I also understand that we are all different humans on this little wheel of life and we all have different things that make our hearts beat, our souls fill, and our essence come into itself.

Do what you want. Be who you want. At least you know who you are.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never attacked your reading too much. I've also, if anything, romanticized your lifestyle. I do think you should reflect a little on this thread, though. Nobody got on and posted an "I hate Seth's lifestyle" thread. Amanda was being defensive and I was being flippant. Both were irritating to you, I guess.

I don't want you to change your lifestyle, Seth. But I think you should realize how rare your adherence to an engulfing book reading regimen is. It's darn rare!

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

And this is the Haters Club, so hate on what you like, even if it's us. Just maybe don't get so offended when it comes back at you.

message 17: by David (new)

David I detest people who file my book on their "to read shelf." It's been a year, still sitting there. Are you here to read fantastic literature and be a no life bookworm like Seth or do you just want to impress others with books you haven't read? Look at my virtual knuckles. Read the book, fucker.

message 18: by Matt (new)

Matt Walker What was the "essence of Life" before the advent of reading?

Reads with Scotch Sex, another thing that upsets Seth.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

David, I'm a librarian so I know a thing or two about lit promotion. If you really want those idiots who posted your books as to-read to actually read them, you should go tell each of them what you just told us. They'll head straight to Amazon!

message 21: by David (new)

David Besides sex there were many verbs like farming, hunting, sleeping, pooping and eating.

message 22: by David (new)

David M-- Chastising a person I do not know for not reading my book fast enough seems like bad voodoo.
