I'm reading Jane Austen Made Me Do It, a collection of stories inspired by Jane Austen, including some by familiar names and some autobuys for some of us in this group: Lauren Willig, Adriana Trigiani, Jo Beverley, Syrie James, Janet Mullany, Beth Pattillo, Myretta Robens. As with most collections, there is some unevenness, but overall I'm loving the stories.
I also just finished Saving June, a YA with a vital, genuine protagonist.
I'll be reviewing both soon.

I liked it a lot, Okie. All of it rang true to me--the protag's reaction to her sister's death, the best friend who owns her heart but sometimes hits her last nerve, the guy and the first time. It was also refreshing to read a YA with no touch of the paranormal or apocalyptic themes. Not that there's anything wrong with either of those. It's just that they seem to be so dominant, and I like variety.
lol, Janga! I'm a huge fan of post apoca, but even I'm tiring out on YA dystopian, post apoc, and para. Can't wait to read Saving June.

Right now I am part way through A Tale of Two Lovers by Maya Rodale. After I finish that I plan on reading What I Did For a Duke by Julie Anne Long.
I am waiting for A Night to Surrender to arrive from Amazon so I will probably read that one next week.

I read another YA last night, from BellBridge Books, My Lunatic Life by Sharon Sala, the recent recipient of the Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award. It was a quick, fun read about a girl with psychic gifts and a couple of guardian ghosts, but i think it's more a middke school book. I plan to buy it for the 12-year-old grand.
Today's read is Robyn Carr's new Virgin River Christmas book. Then I'll start A Night to Surrender.
Kasey, JAL's What I Did for a Duke is my favorite book of 2011 and my favorite JAL book, which is saying a lot since her books almost always score high with me.

Susan, I really liked The Mating! I was so-so on The Keeping- I didn't like the reporter "/ I haven't read The Finding yet.

I liked her. She's naive, cocky, makes silly assumptions, and asks the wrong questions; just like several young, newly graduated from J-school, reporters I have met and dealt with over the years. Obviously, the rich dude did Not Want a more-experienced reporter who could get the answers more quickly but would ask too many questions about his own motives for wanting the information.
@Elyssa: I was a bit disappointed in it... The start was so good but the last 25% of the book seemed rushed and I didn't like that the conflict was dispatched so quick.

Like Janga, JAL's WHAT I DID FOR A DUKE is one of my top reads of the year and my favorite JAL book. She just gets better and better...and better!

Are you reading Heyer as books or e-books? Last month, all the e-books were "on sale" at a reduced cost, so I wondered...
