Donna Jo Atwood | 2412 comments Sandy, I'm sorry, but I'm off by 5 points. My records show I've completed reading and reported everything except 10.2 and 15.3.

I just reported 15.9 in post 1496 which, my spreadsheet says brings me to 1075.

Are you sure that all these tasks have been posted? Our totals agreed up through your post on 10/26, where you showed a total of 1030. On 10/27, you posted a 15 point task, and showed a total of 1050 - so that was a 5 point math error.

So, if you're just looking at what you have as your total, the math error may account for it. If that doesn't solve it, you might review your posts and see if in fact there might be a 5 point task that you didn't actually post.

I went back through all your posts, Donna Jo, and don't see one for 5.9. I may have missed it - it's hard going through that many posts, but I didn't see that task posted, and that would account for the difference.

FINCALIAN post 1497

Task 25.1B requires that the title have exactly 4 letters from the word ALEXANDRIA, no more, no fewer. Your title has L, I, E, N, A, R - 6 letters.

No need to repost the other tasks in that post.

Bless your heart, Sandy. I was going through all of mine and I had about come to that conclusion too. I think that was when I was having a bit of computer operator problems (ME) and think it got typed, but not posted. I will repost.

I am so sorry you spend all that time on it, but I really appreciate your help.

I wouldn't blame it on yourself, Donna Jo - GR has been acting up quite a bit over the last couple months, so you could well have tried to post it and thought you succeeded, but GR ate it instead.

KIM NY post 1502

Task 20.9 (4) requires that the book "takes place on a body of water, an island, or features pirates." A beach house in California isn't on the water or an island (and the book doesn't seem to involve pirates!).

SARITA post 1520
Option 6 of task 30.2 requires that the book have one of a list of food related words in the title - The Private Patient does not appear to fit this task.

For your second book, it does seem to work as a "rescue" of this child. You also must indicate which of the lettered criteria applies to the book.

message 209: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 78 comments Hi Sandy,

I'm afraid I misunderstood the task, I have to say I'm still not sure as it is quite complex.

Regarding the child "rescue", I had it checked for suitability. Since a human is accepted as an animal in this case, then the letter is I (animal on the cover, there is a picture of a little girl).

Regarding the Private Patient, it will be 30.2.1.E - my favourite genre is "whodunnits" and the author uses initials.

I hope this works as I'm slowly losing the will to live!

Did you repost for 20.10 after you fulfilled the "posting in discussion thread problem"? That needs to happen - there are WAY too many posts and too much to do keeping up with this for us to try to go back to old posts to look for fixed problems.

Hmmm - I think it's the only available hardcover link and it was 432 pages. Here's Amazon's info:

Product Details

Hardcover: 432 pages
Publisher: Ecco; 1 edition (September 27, 2011)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0061857637
ISBN-13: 978-0061857638
Product Dimensions: 9.1 x 5.9 x 1.5 inches
http://www.amazon.com/Lost-Memory-Ski...

There are links I could post that are over 400, but this is the ISBN for the one I read.

Should I repost with this info, or should it be changed on Goodreads?

Thanks, Sandy!

The edition of Catch-22 that you linked to has 453 pages. That meets the task criteria, but it won't work for a big book ticket. If you read an edition w/ over 500 pages, you should repost for the BB ticket. Please note in the post that it's just for the BB ticket, since I already entered your points for the task.

Task 30.8 option D requires that the the book be about a mathematician, have a number in the title, or include specified words. "Half" is not one of the listed words, nor is it a number, so it does not appear that Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide works for 30.8 option D.

Task 20.4 requires that the book you read be at least 350 pages long. The book you posted is 256 pages.

Books geared to young elementary school age children can only be used for 5, 10 and 15 point tasks. I Got a D in Salami #2 is geared to this age level, so cannot be used for task 30.2
