Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I don't think I like this cover. Something about it looks awkward to me. Is it just me, or do the cleats look way too big?

Hillary (eledri) | 759 comments Those look like cartoon clown sized cleats. WTF YO? PROPORTION is IMPORTANT!

Gwennie (blessedwannab) LOL, that's a funny blog and those are all trends that I get kind of tired of.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Great link Cassi. :)

I like this cover because the hair looks like a scorpion tail. The concept looks very interesting, but early reviews look sort of low, which is discouraging. I might check it out anyway, since there aren't a whole lot of reviews to compare, either.

(clicking it takes you to the book's summary page)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Did you guys see the new cover for Atticus's Tricked?

I love it, and damn Atticus is gorgeous.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments I need to catch up on that series! Just read the first recently.

Atticus is a sexy character.

message 259: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Yes he is! He got even sexier for me in the second one.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments Wendy F wrote: "Yes he is! He got even sexier for me in the second one."

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Agreed!

message 263: by Carina (new)

Carina The cover for Tricked, makes me want to read those books! Very Nice!

message 264: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I don't like that picture of the guy...dunno...he doesn't look as handsome to me for some reason.

message 265: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Did you mean he doesn't look as handsome compared to the first three covers, or just not handsome in general? I assumed it was the same guy, but I didn't look closely, so maybe it's a different person.

I do think the guy doesn't look as great on this cover (the goatee is an odd shape from the front on view), but I love the color scheme and the design.

It's probably silly, but I've always had a little bit of a fascination with the Atticus cover model, especially on the cover of book 2 (Hexed). I had to stop for a second to go look and see if it's the same guy. After looking at them side by side, I can't tell.

The books are just as well received by men and women and aren't girly at all, so I think it's kind of funny/cute that we're talking about how sexy he is!

I just noticed that there are prequels to the series. Has anyone read them?
Clan Rathskeller (Iron Druid Chronicles, #0.5) by Kevin Hearne Kaibab Unbound (Iron Druid Chronicles , #0.6) by Kevin Hearne Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne Hexed (Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne Hammered (Iron Druid Chronicles, #3) by Kevin Hearne Tricked (Iron Druid Chronicles, #4) by Kevin Hearne

message 266: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I read the prequels, they were fun. From what it said on the publishers website, they are all the same model. I think he's gorgeous personally.

Not normally my type, but he's definitely intriguing.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I like that the cover model is how I actually picture Atticus to look.

He looks like a normal guy but in a good way, if that makes sense.

message 268: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It totally makes sense. I think the same thing.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments Do we know said models name? He's pretty enough to google.

message 270: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I've tried and tried to google who it is, but I can't find it.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments Wendy F wrote: "I've tried and tried to google who it is, but I can't find it."

That is very disappointing. He'd deserve a pic in our eye candy/celebrity crushes thread. Pretty pretty boy.

message 272: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I know, I think so too.

message 273: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments I like the Hounded one. I like his profile. I kinda wish they had left the font white. Unless it's shiny in real life.

D.G. Stacia ~ unlisted wrote: "Did you mean he doesn't look as handsome compared to the first three covers, or just not handsome in general?"

I don't think he looks as handsome as the first 3 covers. I don't know what it is...maybe it's the shadows in this picture? You can't see his eyes and his face looks thinner. And his hair looks too combed, not like in the other images where it was more tousled.

Maybe they just did a weird photoshop on the image.

But I agree with you Stacia. The art looks EXACTLY how Atticus is described.

message 275: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I hadn't noticed the font color change. It is strange to change the color, but maybe the letters are shiny gold.

Ah, I get what you mean now, D.G.

I could not stop laughing!!! Especially when they were talking about
Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz ......took the words right from my mouth

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments That is one of the WORST covers I've ever seen. So hard to tell the difference between the boobs and the butt. That's not the type of quandary you should have when looking at a book cover.

Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 13 comments Stacia ~ poisoned wrote: Ami,

Anna Dressed in blood was a good read, and definitely creepy for the time of year. It's darker than the cover would imply. I did think the first cover almost looked too pnr, which would mislead people trying to avoid a romance book, but the second one implies a little bit more of a scary factor. The color progression is nice, I agree.

I finished "Anna Dressed In Blood", (One of the best titles for a book as well), a few weeks ago, (it was perfect for Halloween, you were right), and really enjoyed it. I'm really looking forward to "Girl of Nightmares" to hurry and come out. lol.

lol. We have this on our bookshelf because my boyfriend got it from his friend, (my sister's husband), for his birthday a few years back.

Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 13 comments Stacia mentioned "The Space Between" and when I looked at it I was reminded of another the first book in Kristen Painter's "Blood Rights":

Maybe it's due to the use of the red and black/gray lacy designs on both covers.

message 282: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I like those red & white covers. :)

message 283: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read it. Is it a historical? It seems because of the dress. I'm not too crazy about historical PNRs but the plot seems interesting.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments D.G. ~Shameless Hussy~ wrote: "Is it a historical? ..."

I quickly popped over and skimmed my friends' reviews for this book and saw this bit : this is the future (2067), but then I saw on another review : This read like a historical novel to me in a way

Melanie wrote: "I see blood rights every where has anyone read them? are the good?"

The only person I can see from this group who's read it is Samantha, so maybe she'll see this and give her opinion. It looks like the book wasn't her thing, though.

Two people on my friends list didn't like the book, and the rest all seemed to absolutely love it, so of course, that doesn't clear things up one way or the other.

I don't think I'll read them, but the cover is pretty eye-catching, I will admit.

Are you looking to post just the clicky thumbnail pic, like how we do in the currently reading topic? If so, you'll see (add book/author) above the comment box. Click it, then check the circle that says cover before doing your search and adding the book.

Then you'll get this : The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin

If you want post an actual full sized picture, you'll find the instructions located also above the comment box if you click on (some html is ok) and look where it says image :

If those instructions confuse you, I have a simple instruction on the last page of the chat topic in this group.

The cover is interesting, but I heard it had nothing to do with the actual book. What's up with publishers doing this...

Unsure how to add a big image of it...?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Is it just me, or does it look like the cover designer for this Atlantis thing must have channeled a Michael Grant book?

- The summary is a bit dry, but the concept has me intrigued.

- Two kids on a book. Apparently, this is how the world ends.

Actually, I think I like the two most recent covers much better than the first three in the series.

message 293: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I like the newest cover a lot! First of all, the picture they have for Sanjay (maybe Edilio) is HOT... that guy is hot.

I didn't like the covers at all when I first got them. But now I like trying to figure out who's on the covers.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 76 comments From the graphics (if I didn't know better) it would look like those are the same series.

message 295: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (last edited Dec 28, 2011 03:06PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I actually like these covers, but the names?

From Bumped to Thumped? What's next? Lumped? Stumped? Humped?

Okay, never mind. As I was pulling up the second picture, I saw that the summary called it the conclusion. Whew. Good thing it stopped at book 2. Book 3 could have been one strange title...

message 296: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments lol Humped would've had my vote

message 297: by [deleted user] (new)

lol

message 298: by Emily (new)

Emily (librarylil) | 358 comments I like Pumped. Though Humped might be more acurate, given the subject matter of the book.

I do like the covers and how they go together, but I agree that the "matching" titles are a bit much.

Now that I know there are only 2, I may actually read the second one. I wasn't in love with the first one, and I had high hopes for it.

message 299: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments I guess Humped should've been book 1.

message 300: by Emily (new)

Emily (librarylil) | 358 comments Exactly! Though maybe she's saving it for a prequel...
