Book Covers - The Good, The Bad and The WTF?
Wtf is with that craptastic hair. I half feel cheated not seeing a dodo bird nesting in her hair.
I like the shattered glass on this cover.

The success of a cartoon-like cover would probably either depend on the audience which the books are targeted toward, or on the genre. I would think cartoon graphics would work best for middle grade books or (in some instances, depending on content) for sci-fi & fantasy books.

It could have something to do with so many people fantasy casting Chloe Moretz (from Kick Ass and Let Me In) as Dani that I might have her image stuck in my head as Dani.I just saw that Chloe was cast in the new Carrie remake. I'm not always a fan of remakes but I might actually watch one for Carrie.

I knew you'd mentioned Barrons before when we talked about the best fictional male characters. Glad to know I'm not crazy. lol

Is that a good or bad speachless, Jen? Have you read the book?Maybe its because I've seen so many similar covers, but that Shattered Souls cover only gets a "Meh" out of me, instead of a "Ooooooo, I like!"

I actually like that cover in the larger size. When I saw it as a thumbnail it didn't really stand out. The flower petals falling away from her body, showing her presence disintegrating, sort of fits with the title.Not a cover but the title made me laugh :

Something about her upper body looks distorted/photoshopped to me. I keep looking but can't figure out what.
Dani has auburn hair! Mac states it in Dreamfever. Just happened to be rereading it and came to that part yesterday. :)I am meh toward the shattered souls cover. Something just doesnt click for me.

Well, the angle of her body is awkward and the disintegrating into flower petals is sorta creepy to me. Dunno why...

Book 3 in the Bright Young Things series. Maybe it's just me but this one doesn't have as much of a 1920's vibe as the first two did. It could be the hairstyle. I do like these covers better than the ones for the Flappers series though.
The scissors are a nice touch! This girl's pose is similar to the one on this author's adult book Soulless, except facing in the opposite direction.

You absolutely need to jump it to the top of the list, Jen. It's amazing!Cassi, it's funny because they are totally reusing the boy in the hoodie which is done all the dang time. But the face damage is what really makes it stand out.
I guess we're introduced to a new character which is made up of (view spoiler). So maybe that's who this is? Really that's not a spoiler if you read the synopsis but since there are some who haven't read Unwind yet, I went ahead and hid it, lol.
