Just read/Currently reading/About to read

I didn't like it that much, book was well written but I guess I don't like love stories. Everything was kind of predictable.
gone girl- fantabulous
Patricia - strangers on a train- chillingly good. only one of her books that I've read
Nicholas sparks- a big no for me

61 hours has been in my to-read list for a long long time. Don't know when I'll manage to read it.

It was a truly felt story.. I would soon put a review on it... :)

so in christmas spirits,
I'm reading "A Christmas Carol"
I was initially introduced to it in my 6th std or so as an abridged non-detailed text reading. After a couple of years, read the full version and just loved it. There is something touching about lost chance, redemption etc. which makes one warm up at the cockles.

It is wonderful! Above all if you are a woman, if you have more than 40 years, if suddenly you find out that your husband has a lover and you must call into question all your life, your marriage and yourself.
Now I'm curious to read also the other two stories, always about women.

I hope the other two stories will be good to. The first one had a deep insight in what happens in a woman when she lives only for the love of her husband and for her children and suddenly everything changes; everything in what she believed isn't anymore true and she struggles because she was sure to know her own and her husband. Really interesting and so true.

The Stand by Stephen King loving it...
अरेबा परेबा ( कहानी संग्रह )- उदय प्रकाश
डिबिया - 2 .5/5
नेलकटर - 4 /5.... काफ़ी इमोशनल कहानी थी ।

its such a funny romance... i kind of have a permanent grin attached to my face... :D

We read it in December as a group read. Here's the discussion if you want to add your opinions: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I'm desperate, I don't know what to read, anything bores me.
I started The Voyage Out and gave it up after a few pages; I started Mrs. Dalloway and gave up also this. Now I started The Leopard but till now it is boring.
I think it's not a problem of the books, it's me in this period.
dely, I just finished. Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata
I am not a die hard mythology fan, but I found it interesting, engrossing and thought provoking. I have a feeling that you may like it.

Color Purple was good but depressing.
Perfume: the story - I could never proceed farther than a few pages. It was too complex

I recently started Color Purple but couldn't read more than a few pages as I found myself getting very depressed. Maybe I'll try again sometime later.
So far in 2014: Still Alice, Julius Caesar (reread) and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
Loved both Still Alice and Snow Flower... and Julius Caesar has always been my favourite Shakespeare work.
Currently reading Killing Sarai

Thanks, I wanted to add it in my wishlist but it is already there. I don't remember who recommended it to me, though.

Do you mean "Jaya"? I will surley look for it.

Which edition is better, the paperback or the kindle?
Seen that it is in English I would buy the kindle edition (for the built-in dictionary) but I have read that the book has also beautiful illustrations and I have a basic kindle, can't see them with the colors.
Paperback is better. There are many illustrations and tables, which would make ebook reading not that enjoyable.

An wrote: "Although I love Kindle, I have to say that go for paperback for this because of the superb illustrations."
Thanks ;)

I had read it when I was an adolescent and I loved it! I should re-read it.

even i finished r2020 just now...i just thought it was tooo boring...wat about u??did u like it or not??

गोदान by मुंशी प्रेमचंद . It's great till now.
A bloody road to nowhere and tales from the apocalypse by Joanna Prototype.
P G Wodehouse is amazing. However much repetitive his stories are I enjoy reading and rereading each one of them
