I envy you...
Has anyone read Leather, Denim & Silver: Legends of the Monster Hunter? I saw it on someone's read list and it looked interesting. It says there's a Kindle edition, but there isn't. Must have been discontinued. I checked Amazon and the least expensive used is around $67... there's a new one for over $2000.
It may be a while before I get to read this one or it's sequels.

I don't know...maybe.
:)
I've been wondering if maybe it was published in the UK and never got started over here or something. There is an entire series of the books. They look like an interesting series of books but I'd never heard of them.

I just went looking. Some of the later collections of stories are listed very inexpensively. One I think is free on Kindle. I think I'll try one of those. My OCD had me stuck on the first volume.
Well...I almost feel obligated to start "series" from Vol.1 but it (finally) occurred to me that these were short story collections so why not get the second? Anyway, read the first story and it's pretty good, not great but a good werewolf story.

Didn't care for Gideon's Sword...as a matter of fact I was, extra disappointed in that one.

which is addicting, fascinating, and aggravating at the same time. The level of finely detailed research Terry Hayes put in is outstanding, but at times it's like, "C'mon dude, can we get the story moving now?" But then every little detail has a reason, so ... I don't know if I love or hate this book :) It is a LONG one.
Peace, Seeley
Okay, back for a bit. I've got my "summer break" from today until 4 September... 2 more semesters to go.
I haven't been idle in the reading.
I did manage to read a wonderful history non-fiction book about the first world war. I thought it was very enlightening and managed to touch on some of the side stories and questions of the Great War that I hadn't even heard about. It's a great one book volume for the history of "The War to End All Wars." A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918 by G.J. Meyer
I managed to finish book three of the Matthew Corbett series by Robert McCammon and started book 4. Mister Slaughter was wonderful. Not as funny as book two, but just as well written.
I also snuck in a short but entertaining cozy mystery, Fire And Ice by Dana Stabenow. Stabenow does the great white north justice and the characters are really warm, wondrful and quirky (in a good way). It's not a blood and guts slasher movie want to be and the mystery is challenging and interesting to read.
None of those are particularly "action/adventure" stories, but they are good.
I did manage to read book 4 of the Jack Campbell. The Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier, which is really The Lost Fleet 9. That series is good, this book is okay, but I liked the first three better. Steadfast

Now I'm reading The Bottoms. I've been looking forward to this one.

Prior to that I hit some bad luck and read two clunkers:
Hot Pursuit (quite possibly the WORST book I have ever read. Hard to believe this is the same author who wrote Nothing Lasts Forever (basis for the 1st Die Hard film). I gave it 1-star AND that was being generous.
And The Tempest I think I gave this 2-stars, hard to remember as I am trying to forget that I ever read these 2 books. Not quite the worst book I ever read, but darn close to it. Thank goodness I did not spend any money on them as I read these last two books as part of my trail period of Kindle Unlimited.
But I am back on track now: reading a YA thriller

I've started 3 action/thriller type books in the last couple of days and I'm sort of "meah" about all of them. may need to change genres after these, fantasy or science fiction or something????

How's that going? Find anything good to read lately? I've been in a little of a funk myself lately when it comes to books.
Okay. Just finished the second Longmire book. I'll probably go 4 on it when I review it. Laid November Man aside. may try it again later. Just wanted to read something else. Crusade was good. The others I had going are just so-so.
Well into Malice...seems good. It took a while to start moving (some epic fantasies do) but I'm nearly half way in now and I'm pretty interested.
Thanks for asking...You reading anything good?

Fun, pulpy adventure story. If you've never read Reese's The Rook Volume 1-Special Edition or The Adventures of Lazarus Gray, both those characters have cameos in Gravedigger, but it's by no means required that you be familiar with them in advance (although those are also recommended books).

Book Description: In a small town in Texas five ex-mercenaries reunite when one of their number, Red, half Comanche, half Texan, is threatened. Presidential candidate Senator O'Hara likes to keep his town whiter than snow and everybody firmly in their place and he's taken a dislike to Red. The town's sheriff won't risk his job by helping so it's down to Johnny Silver and his band of comrades to sort out the matter. The resultant attacks escalate from a simple poisoning of the ranch's water supply, through frightening off the workers, to a full-scale war with a fifty-strong gang of bikers. And pulling the strings is their most formidable foe yet - a professional assassin, the Killer in Black. Are Johnny's team still strong enough to take on the challenges posed by the unknown enemy? Or have they finally met their match?

I love this series. I kind of love Thomas to ;)
